The day was bright in the Jungle, the canopy above keeping the ground shaded. Mleli was in a fantastic mood, one better than she'd been in for a long while now. After the meeting with the ignorant little lion, things only seemed to be getting better for the leopardess and she was thoroughly enjoying it. While hunting that afternoon, she'd caught a lovely, plump jungle bird and was on her way back to her home with it. She kept her eyes and ears open for any possible threats or theives along the way, but otherwise weaved calmly through the trees losing only the occasional feather.

Mafujo'amri was something else, a creature of epic proportions when involving his mind. For the past few days, everything was black, the chaos inside of him having taken control and sending him into a frenzie. Now, back to his normal self, Amri feared for what happened, the blood on his paws and claws a clear sign of something evil taking place.
Settled on his haunches in the deep vines of the jungle, the life around him seemed to only down his spirits. Everything was a chance for him to kill, every creature a new target for Mafujo to take control, and it toyed with Amri's senses and pained his heart. Shifting to his stomache, he covered his ears and eyes with his blooded paws, and let out a deep sigh.
"This is too much..."

With a nose full of feathers, Mleli heard the other leopard before she scented him. Through the bird only the faintest of strange scents could be made out, so she relied more on her other senses on the walk back to her tree. She had no intention of seeking out this sound, but rather hoped to avoid it.
However the origin of the sound turned up in the middle of her path, she'd mistaken the direction and went towards it instead of away from it. Her jaw tightened on the birds neck protectively, and for a moment she just stared at the odd leopard before her. Blood covered paws and not looking too pleased; had she not been in a good mood or had he been anything but a leopard she wouldn't have stayed to look this long.

As soon as the female moved into the area, his muscles tightened and Amri lifted his paws slowly. Sharp pink eyes stared at the female before him, and the dark gray ears fell slightly at that. As time passed by in silence, he was surprised Mafujo decided to keep at bay, and slowly sat up with a meek glaze.
Nervously laughing a moment later, he spoke up softly, respectfully, and clearly akwardly.
"Erm...nice bird..." Smiling just slightly, he closed his eyes a moment later, mentally cursing his idoticy at the greeting. Someone could mistaken that as him wanting some.

Unaware of her good fortune, Mleli stood silently across from the strange leopard, watching him. Had her mouth been free, she might have spoken to him. Had he not commented on the bird, she might have dropped it. Instead, she tightens her grip on the kill further instinctively before she realized the stranger's whole mien and tone were not threatening.
She lowers her head and, with some effort, digs her teeth from the bird. Once it came free, she placed a protective paw upon it just in case she was mistaken. Her mouth and chin were lined with blood from the hunt and from the times she held tight.
"Thank you," she replied proudly, lifting her chin and eyeing the blood on his paws, "Been hunting, yourself?"

Shifting again, he just watched her actions with his sharp eyes, the color soft and sweet and somewhat surreal for a leopard. His tail brushed the vines and grasses in boredome, not quite sure what to say as her paw covered the catch, and not quite sure how to do much anything at the moment.
"I've been..." He stilled a moment before laughing again and shaking his head, "Trust me, you don't want to ask, but my name is Amri, and you are?" He just put on a cheerful smile, just ignoring the kill and the akward senses.

Mleli's own steel blue eyes had found the strange and bright colored eyes of Amri, and that is where her gaze remained. When he laughed and introduced himself, the leopardess took a seat, still keeping the bird close and covered.
"Amri," she repeated, raising an eyebrow at his answer to her question. With a short shake of her head, she decided not to ask any more on that subject, "My name is Mleli."

"Well Mleli, it is a pleasure to meet another leopard, I havent seen many at all in these parts..." He trailed off, not letting his sentence finished about the whole thing. If he mentioned the whole thing about not remembering, it might just ruin it all.
Standing up, he stretched his lean form, lapping up his paws really quick until they gleamed with the white colorings once more.
"Would you like an escourt to your den, there are many dangerous creatures here..." His voice sounded nervous, and yet he had no idea that he used the same line in his Mafujo side.

"It is nice to see more leopards," she nodded with a slight smile, "Better than some other things that could be about." Mleli sat still when he stood, stretched and groomed. She absently ran her tongue over her lips, well aware of the blood there.
"I don't need an escourt," she replied simply, noting the nervous tone he used, "Unless you've perhaps seen something particularly dangerous in this area recently." The leopardess glanced to the side, wondering if something had gone by since she'd last been this way.

Shaking his head, Amri sat down and nervously laughed. It was hard speaking with another, and he didn't really want to get to know her too well, so instead, he just looked around and took a deep breath.
"I have heard stories, but I am pretty sure it is safe," as long I am not there... trailing it all off, he just watched and waited, "It has been a pleasure, Mleli, but I believe this is where we part...I need a meal anyways..."

Mleli looked back to Amri, wondering at how easily he accepted her reply. Ah well, probably was an empty gesture, said to be kind. She could appreciate that, though. "Alright then, I should be fine," she nodded, watching him carefully when he started a farewell. With a mental snort to herself, she moved her paw from her kill and nudged it to him- even she isn't entirely sure why she did so.
"You could use this more than me," she explained, nose high. He was nervous enough, perhaps a good meal would help that. She half expected him to deny the offer anyway, and if he didn't she's sure she could catch something better just as easily.

Blinking at the gesture as well, and the words, he coughed lightly, "I actually am not a fan of birds...their feathers get caught in my teeth..." Smirking stupidly at that, he waved his paw, "Thank you though, I really appreciate it, goodluck with everything." And with that, he turned and jumped off, making sure not to leave room for her to respond or reoffer. Maybe another day they would meet and hold a conversation.
As he made it through the trees, he peered back siletly.
"I hope you never meet Mafujo." And with that, he distanced himself as far as possible, just incase.

Mleli gave an understanding nod at his explanation, drawing the bird back towards her.
"Goodbye," she called after him as he leapt away. She stayed seated there for a moment longer before reaching down and picking up her dinner once again, her hold on it more relaxed now. Her eyes turned back in the direction of home, she got up and left.
