After this stint of overtime I start my WoW career. I plan on rolling a Dwarven Hunter on Thorium Brotherhood. So any general advice/tips for the game would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot, everyone.

Hunter is an easy class to solo as. Advice - don't take skinning/ leatherworking unless you're willing to grind a ton of mobs to keep it up to par. A smarter decision is to take two 'gathering' professions - mining or herbology with skinning. Skin every kill, loot every mining/ herb node. Sell every thing on the AH, & the money will pile up. ;3

I prefer herbalism too mining, as it's not quite as contested, and herbs are easy to find depending on where you start. Mines are rare in the night elf areas, but herbs are very common. The undead second area, Silverpine, is also a great place to find lots of herbs.

Well yeah but if hes rolling a dwarf there are going to be a lot of minerals in his starting area.

I agree with herbalism and mining, though. I'm not sure about mining, but my main is a herbalist/alchemist and man do some of the rarer herbs go for a ton in the AH. You'll make a ton of money and not have to worry about affording your gear like I do.

Second piece of advice is find a nice friendly guild who will help you lvl. Get people to run you through instances.

The golden rule for instance drops is NEVER need unless you actually reallly NEED it. And you may only need it if you need it on the character you're using when it drops. So no picking up a blue dagger on your shaman and saying your rogue needs it.
If its BoP (bind on pickup), and you need it, make sure its okay with your group first if you need. It most likely will be, but it never hurts to check.

Roll for chests by typing /roll. And dont go off and open chests/loot corpses/gather herbs when your party is in the middle of fighting, especially if you're the main tank or healer.

Enchanting is also pretty good if you're gonna be doing instances the most. once i staretd doing SM, i was getting 20g a day off drops. If you can win a roll and win a BoP item you can't use, disenchant it.
