Imal sniffed the ground as she walked. Her tail dragged limply behind her even in her better mood. Her life seemed decided for her already as she continued her search for food. Ears springing forth, Imal lifted her nose at the scent. Something was definately about and it smelled...like food. She brought herself forward on crouched knees as she continued through the maxe of brambles. The female knew what it was.

Rabbit.

She seemed to have a lot of those lately but a scavenger couldn't pick and choose a meal. The buzzrads that were happily feasting were soon chased to their wings in the clear morning air. Imal let out a soft yip of triumph as she eagerly wolfed down the remainder.

The scent of fresh kill hung strong in the air and Damalis spent no time picking it up. Her ears perked up and nostrils flared as she pinpointed the direction the direction from which the wind blew down the smell. Drawn by curiosity more then hunger, the chocolate wild dog padded slowly towards her destination, she kept low to the ground, knowing alot of creatures wouldn't be too welcoming to a stranger watching in as they ate.

Peeking her head around a thick bush of thorns, ruby eyes caught sight of the wild dog and her catch. Not in any mood to disturb her meal- nor be found /spying/, she moved into seeing range and sat back on her haunches, wrapping her tail around her front paws in a contented position.

"Hello there." She called out warmly, hoping she would not surprise the stranger.

Imal was muzzle deep even in the small rabbit. Her nose was too filled with the smell of blood and flesh to notice any other. Claws grasped the prey to keep the buzzards from returning, not that they didn't anyway. The first that came too close elicited a soft growl from the dog. Her brown body froze as more landed around her. One that came much to close got snapped at as she defended her steal. If she hadn't been so hungry she would have left the poor excuse if a meal behind but she needed the meat.

One of the massive bald-bald headed vutures got just within her reach before oddly skipping away, challenging her. Imal growled and ran for the small pack that had accumulated. Most took to the air but the feeling of her jaws closing around one of their long agile neck was enough. She brought the vulture to the ground before her just for it to scramble about and finally go limp from her bite. A grin crossed her maw until a voice sounded.

The female turned to see another behind her. She watched all this? Imal wasn't too friendly at the moment but she tried to mask it.

"Hello there..."

Damalis watched in awe as the wild dog brought down the vulture with ease. Her ears perked forward as she watched it's small and scrawny body go limp and she nodded approvingly.

"Vultures... Hate 'em. Very impressive though, I've never managed to bring one down before." She brought herself to her paws and padded forward a couple paces, tail waving slightly. Damalis gave her a polite nod in greeting and looked back up at her with a grin.

"I'm Damalis."

Imal looked at the dead bird on the ground. She didn't plan on eating such a disgusting creature. Who knows where it had been?

"Vultures always seem to get in the way. They have to be dealt with somehow..." The statement wasn;t completely directed at Damalis but it was loud enough for her to hear. Rust colored moving slowly behind her, Imal took a step back from her 'kill'. More vultures were already gathered. Whether to mourn or devour their comrade was a mystery that she didn't want to know. She turned heel and walked slowly toward the larger female. The adolescent turned once she had passed the other female.

"Imal...just call me Imal"

Damalis nodded again to Imal, watching in the corner of her eye as the birds flocked to the ground. What they had planned for the dead bird... She didn't wat to think about it. Attention brought back to the wild dog infront of her, she sat back down.

"Well, it's a pleasure, Imal."

Damalis pawed at the dirt under her for a moment and looked back up with a carefree grin. "I dont think I've seen you around here before, though being a traveler I suppose I miss alot."

"Yeah. Pleasure..." Her body was still tense from the worrying situation she had been in. Her mind was still slightly frazzled by her talk with Jamaa. She didn't care if she came off as rude. Too much was on her mind for her to care. With a flick of her rust colored tail, she fell to her haunches. Her tail looped slowly around her forepaws.

"I suppose you wouldn't then."

Damalis quickly noticed that Imal seemed tence, perhaps we should stay on her good side. Not wanting to give off a bad first impression, she waved her tail abit and lowered her head abit and flashed her a slight sympathetic look.

"Not that it's any of my buisness, but is something on your mind?"

Damalis was usually good at talking to others about problems, but she didn't want to take any big chances.

Imal stopped in her tracks at Damalis' words. Something was normally worng with the femme but she didn't go around telling people about her problems. Though the other didn't seem to be too intrusive, she still was very cautious and uncertain. There wasn;t much she could say without giving her problem away completely so she tried to keep it short and simple.

"Normal problems with males. Nothing out of the ordinary." Her tail lashed behind her.

Damalis nodded, eyes closed as she thought on the topic for a moment. Males... A common problem, yet not too easy to deal with at times. She had had male problems before, nothing too drastic. But-- This wild dog seemed to agitated for it to be a normal problem. Or maybe it was... Very confusing.

"Males, eh? Very confusing characters, if you ask me. I still haven't figured out their strange ways"
She opened her eyes again, a slight grin across her maw.

She sighed inwardly and starred at the other. No. It wasn't so normal and it probably never would be. This was one that the dog didn't think she could get herself out of but she certainly had to try. If she had them, she would have been chewing her fingernails.

"Yeah. I'm suprised that I found something that's even more confusing than females." She didn't want to go into details but she found both genders quite confusing.

Imal chuckled softly. "When you think you've figured someone out then they throw something else at you and you have to rethink them."

"That's life for 'ya. Unpredictable."

Damalis's ears layed back calmly and her tail twitched, eyes lifting as the area around them seemed to be covered in a strange shadow. A large, low, grey cloud floated lazily in the far horizon, clearly the cause of the sudden darkness. "Like that, for example." Nostrils flared as the scent of water blew through the air on a cool breeze. "Might be rain later." Dama mumbled. "Just what I need." She added with a sour tone. Let's just say that storms weren't her favorite things in the world, ever since she was a pup. She doesn't know why, but in her case, it would be best to stay as far away from it as possible.

"Apparently so. I hadn;t expected it to be this way at all." They were all the same in odd respects. Life was unpredicatable in some ways, actually, all ways that concerned her. Male problems were the least of her problems but the most prominent at the moment. Everything about what she was doing seemed odd or out of the ordinary. She needed to fix it before everything went ary.

"At some point, I'll have to fix it. I should go since this vulture is still nice."

She took the bird in her mouth, trying her hardest not to swallow any feathers. He would be hungry and it would be a nice treat for him and her as well. The female nodded a quick goodbye and trotted off, vulture hanging from her maw.
