After an unexpected week-long delay, 10 minutes of hanging out with the FedEx guy waiting for my grandma to get here to sign for the package, 15 minutes of getting that damn white film off the panels, 5 minutes of fiddling with my PS2's malfunctioning disc tray, and 3 phone calls (one of which was the wrong freaking number), I was FINALLY able to enjoy my new baby.
My only complaint, much to my dismay, is the performance. It's not that it's insensitive, because it definitely isn't. But for some reason, I have problems holding a combo with it. This is coming from someone who can nearly AAA all the Maxes. Unthinkable.
Maybe it's the fact that the arrows are almost too sensitive. I was standing in the middle, with my foot just barely touching the side of the arrow, and I skipped through about 6 songs. Because of this sensitivity, maybe the corner arrows are also easy to trigger. However, that doesn't explain why I have to mash the O button a couple times to select things.
That's another thing: the arrows feel a little...plunky. Feels like there are plungers in the middle of each sensor. This took some getting used to, and isn't THAT bad, but made me go "eww" when I first felt it.
The sensitivity issue does seem to vary though. I was able to AAA Seduction, a song that I'd occasionally get BS combo breakers on with my old pad, but got a bunch of BS combo breakers on Love is Dreaminess, something I AAA'd over a year ago.
Overall, it's still a very nice pad, but I don't think it was totally worth the price. If $75-$100 were knocked off the price, that'd be a lot better but I'm a cheapskate. It gets an 8.5/10 for now. Maybe my expectations were too high, maybe it needs to be broken in a little more, and maybe I just need to adjust. Still a great pad, and I highly recommend it.

Hm. . . I'll try to keep those issues in mind with my design. (still haven't found the damned patent application papers stressed )
P.S. FedEx is eeeeebil! scream They took a week to deliver my pads from freakin' California. The seller guaranteed 48 hour shipping. stare On the other hand, it took 28 hours for my USB converter (which turned out to be Dijong, thanks, life. stare ) to get here from NJ, the seller said to expect 2-5 day shipping. xp The difference? Pads = FedEx, USB Converter = USPS.

I find that the Fluxes I dance on are also major combo breakers. They tend to give me random "Almost"s during almost every song, which can be really annoying. The screws also really kill my feet.
Those are my only complaints. :3

I find pressing X, triangle, O, and square the most annoying part of a Flux. Luckily I have a PS2 controller always at hand to make getting to the options easier...
Dont worry, you get used to it fast.

I played on one for the first time today. Pretty good, good accuracy (got an AAA and various AAs on it on Extreme 2). Still, I hate how you can hardly tell the buttons from the rest of the pad. I moved too far back during a DDR tournament qualifying round and wasn't hitting the up arrow and didn't realize it. I thought I was getting pad misses. (I still qualified for the top 16 finals for tomorrow though.)

Still getting bs combo breakers on the PS2 games, AAAing s**t like crazy when I hook it up for Stepmania, so it looks like the problem is the corner arrows.
There's an option to turn them off, right? Where's that at? D:

I'm going to see if I can get it so that it has an adjustable sensitivity setting too. Yay for basic properties of magnetism and engineering, which only I seem to have thought of. :B Silly professionals. pirate

I dunno why they put round ones on them. D:
