my mom said i can't dress 'gothic' cause if i do god will shun me. she says i need 2 wear pink and stuff, but then i'm not being who i want 2 be!!

I've been forced to wear things I didn't like half my life..... bow ties at work, McDonald's uniforms, (*nuff said), and old clothes that didn't fit well... my clothing has never defined me. It never will.

I was just about to post something about the fact that your clothes don't define you.
Do I enjoy dressing darker and more sinister than most?
Yes.
Do I believe I'll be any less "me" if I have to wear dressy pink and preppy clothing?
No.
If you rely on your clothes to define who you are, then you're pretty shallow, and I suggest you look into redefining yourself.

I wear black (not "gotic" style black you know all fancy and what not) just black because it's slimming lol. I wear what I enjoy wearing. Heck I went to chruch in a hottopic outfit and got complemented by a lot of people. I would say I have faith, I will wear what you want me to, but to be a Christian I must have faith it doesn't matter what I wear, as long as I am a good person and what not. confused

That's the exact point, clothes don't define you... So God WON'T shun you oer the color orsize of your clothes... But that being said, you shouldn't have to wear what you don't want to, yet regardless, you can't do much about it until you reach the age of 18 and your mom can't control the way you dress.

i practatly have to whear clothes that i dont want to because i go to a school where the students have to whear a uniform and i hate the uniform but i live with it

i've never had to worry about any of this always gotten to wear my black coats and boots and raver pants and what have you without concequence. i feel bad for you guys.

The only people who would shun you based on apperance is those petty, self-righteous, narrow-minded people who are stuck in a rut and can't swallow a little diversity.
