I entered a contest to win a Wayward child and this is the story I submitted ^^
link: http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12757857&page=549
the prompt: You have suddenly been transfered to the Wayward Children Pound from a similar facility in a nearby city. As it was not quite as much of an inviting place as your new home, everything here is new and different. Write a short to moderate length journal entry on your first day here at the pound. Be sure to also give a bit of background information, such as the reason for the transfer and what life was like at your previous home. And of course, don't forget to project your personality.

Seishin's journal

I finally arrived at the Wayward Children Pound, it took two hours to get everything packed and arrive at the front door. My transfer was a difficult and discouraging one. No other place would take me in but after today i'm happy that Wayward took me in. They welcomed me happily and I thought that it might not be a bad place to crash and stay for a while. Everyone was asking me why I was transferred all day and I told them it was because I was tired of being there. I didn't tell the truth but it was better not to, everyone would probably think that I was some pansy loser if I told them it was because most of the kids at the other place made fun of me. My artistic talent and punkish attitude are not to be made fun of. I was one of a kind but held my ground when they ganged up on me. When I arrived at Wayward it was about 10 am so I missed breakfast but they told me I could unpack everything and get settled before lunch. I walked into my new room and looked around at the brown plain walls, not really decorative here, I have already painted them white. My last room was painted white so I could draw all over them, I bet the murels are still there. When I was done unpacking someone knocked on my door and said it was lunch time. I was really hungry so I ran down the stairs and jumped off the third one, just to save time. The dining room was huge, there were so many tables and empty seats I couldnt imagine how many kids there would be. As I was waiting in line the boy behind me, his name was Shirase, told me how he ended up here in Wayward and how long he's been here. He explained all of the rules and was getting through them quickly until my stomach rumbled loudly. I looked down at my stomach and told it that it would be fed soon and the boy just smiled and said that the line to get food was a short wait, and that they do everything so fast to feed everyone quickly. Once I got my food and back out into the dinning room I just stood there and looked at all of the kids there, it shocked me to see so many. My last place only had about thirty or so, but this place had so many more. I continued to stare until the boy who was behind me in the food line told me I could sit with him. There were two others at the table, Aidan and Alec, twins; and they didn't want me at the table but after ten minutes or so they warmed up to me. I was lucky to have met the three boys, they were the first friends I have ever made. After lunch the boys showed me around the whole building, and continued the rules from where Shirase left off. Dinner pretty much went the same way and afterwards Shirase, Alec and Aidan helped me paint my room white. The smell of the paint could be smelled throughout the hallway of which my room was in. Two girls from down the hall decided they had had enough of the smell when Shirase, Alec and Aidan went to get more paint. They came into my room and said that I needed to stop painting because it was annoying them and that white was such a boring color. I told them I was painting the walls white so I could paint things on them and they laughed. One of the girls kicked over a paint bucket and told me that I was a freak, luckily the bucket was almost empty. I stood up to picked the bucket up and they told me to leave it, as if they where better than me. I clentched my fists and told them to back off, I was new and I didnt like the room brown so I was going to paint the wall to my liking and if they didn't like it than it was too bad because that's what I was going to do. After my explosion Shirase and the other two came back and asked what was going on. The girls told them that nothing was going on and left in a hurry, I was glad. Even though they kept asking me what happened I said nothing and we finished painting the room. I guess the first day at Wayward was pretty good considering that I had made some friends and enemies.
