The light brown stallion grinned. He had finally been successfull in getting Mahiri out of the teepee. Walking slowly in the field with his mother, Bairn thought about everything that had happened to him since he learned about Aruna's new love. He had made a complete idiot of himself when he spoke with Astia, and his sister was there to watch it happen. Oh, he was so very ashamed of himself, why couldn't he be more like his parents.
"Come on, mother. I told you the surprise is just past the hill over there." Bairn said to Mahiri, pushing her furthur away from their home. It was a small lie, but one that had to be said in order for her to get out. She was loosing her playfullness, and like he said to Aruna, they had to do something about it. Bairn had to find Hania before he moved to a new teepee with someone else. His parents needed to see eachother again.
"I'm coming, I'm coming." Mahiri said, rolling her eyes at Bairn. "Don't push me, I'm coming." The mare could tell that her son was lying about the 'surprise', but she could also tell that he was worried about her. If leaving the teepee meant keeping him happy, she'd do that. But she missed her mate so much, she wanted, no..she needed to see him again. What if he showed up at the teepee and they were gone? Then Mahiri would miss her only chance at seeing Hania.
"Hmm..Bairn? Could you tell me more of what Aruna said about her new love? He sounds wonderful, I just cannot wait until we have little half unicorns running around! My daughter has actually fallen for a unicorn, oh I'm so proud of her. Although I was proud when she was with Rahu of cource." Mahiri babbled on, there was really nothing else to talk about these days. It was only the two of them...their conversations got pretty dull after awhile. It was true though, the mare couldn't wait until she met Delano.
"Later, mom. Right now we need to keep moving!" He shouted out at his mother, feeling rather annoyed with her. That's all she had been doing for the last day or so, was talk about Aruna and her mate. Perhaps though, Mahiri was jealous of her own daughter for being able to have her mate with her all the time. Bairn shook his head and decided not to push the subject any furthur.

"Father, forget about Miakoda. She is human, she can take care of herself. She has done so before without you," Aruna said, slightly annoyed. Her father was so slow today... then again, he had been in a glassy-eyed dreamstate, muttering on and on about some mare... which, Aruna had assumed, was hopefully a mare her father had adopted as a sister. Most of the time, however, she caught her father staring at anything that resembled Mahiri's coat. She sighed.
Why did she agree to this again...? Oh, right. Bairn. And the plan to get their parents together, finally. She worried about Mother... after hearing what Bairn said, the urgency to bring her parents together was most definitely something. Especially since her father might return to his flirting, mare-nizer self. "Father, hurry! It's just over this way!" She had told Hania about Delano, her own mate, and the other surprise... well, her father would just love that surprise.
Months, weeks, days, minutes, seconds... they had all passed without him really noticing too much. The ache of Mahiri not being near him, to hear her beautiful laughter, her cheerful outlook, her voice... just her in general was slowly killing him. He admitted that he was genuinely happy that Aruna had chosen a grand mate, a unicorn, instead of Rahu, for he could not approve of that dark stallion.
Rahu had, of course, been a good choice, he supposed, but the stallion seemed extremely dangerous. The scar on Aruna's flank would always remind him of that. Aruna had come home, finally, after about a week and a half, and he had been angered and startled to see the scar that now decorated over Aruna's used-to-be flawless, beautiful, chocolate coat. "I'm coming, Aruna," he said tiredly. He wondered what the surprise was that his daughter spoke of.
Of course, he was also going to meet with his daughter's new mate... a blood-red unicorn named Delano. Red. His heart ached all the more.
...Mahiri...
Aruna sighed. Almost there. "Father, please, you hurt me with your slowness. I know for a fact that you are faster than this." She watched as her father seemed to register her words and began to pick up the pace. She sighed happily. Thank goodness. It was good she knew Hania inside and out, and knew for a fact that he never backed down on a challenge he couldn't do. "I'll race you!"

Delano stood in the field where Aruna had left him. He waited patiently for her return. She had mentioned something about her family, but she had spoke so fast the words still danced through his mind in a blurred daze. He had nodded in agreement to stay there and wait for her to come back, with whatever it was she had been planning. He had asked her the night they committed to each other, if he could meet her family. Perhaps thats what she was doing. The sun blazed down on his coat, making the fur shine a dazzling crimson. His coat looked almost as if it was blood itself, ironic for a peaceful stallion as he. He grazed on the lucious grass, ruby orbs looking all directions. He wasn't sure which direction she'd be coming from. A slight breeze blew and his long, silken mane flowed behind him like a black flame. And then he heard voices...not just from one direction...but from 2 directions. His ears perked and he stood tall, holding his head high and proud. He knew Aruna's voice, but the 2nd set of voices concerned him a bit...and so he waited for them to come into sight.

Hmm...they were getting closer to the 'surprise', Bairn could feel it. Although he wasn't exactly sure what to expect because Delano, Aruna's mate was to be there too. The stallion kinda just wanted this to be a moment for their parents, but this was his sister's moment as well. Shrugging, he continued to push the ever-so-slow Mahiri furthur. "Mother, please hurry, your surprise will be ruined if we cannot get there in time." He told her softly, wondering perhaps that would help. Afterall, she was the playfull goofy type.
"I said I'm coming what more do you want?" Mahiri asked him, speaking in a rather hard tone. She had definetly not forgotten her mate, but right now her mind seemed to be on her eldest daughter. Ooh, the mare was so proud of her, she couldn't wait to see Delano and Aruna together, happy like Hania and her once were.
Ah, Hania. Mahiri's mind flickered over to her caramel colored mate. She missed him so much, there was nothing in the world right now that she wanted more then to see him again. Hania was a fine stallion though, his heart probably didn't ache for her the way her's did. He knew how to keep himself balanced.
"Bairn, I think when you're done showing me this surprise perhaps we could take a walk. I want to talk to you about some things." A smile appeared on her face as she looked at her son. Even though it was fake, it was still a smile.
He shrugged, what could he say. 'No mother I'd rather just go home?' Of cource he wasn't going to say that. Nodding his head slowly in return to Mahiri's question, Bairn found himself staring at a blood red unicorn not to far off. He was standing in the place Aruna and him were supposed to met. Was this Aruna's mate? Ha, it almost made him chuckle. Pushing Mahiri just a little bit more, he whispered. "We're here, just a little furthur. Ok, follow me." And with that, Bairn took off running towards Delano.

Aruna panted slightly as she raced her father. Darn him, but he was still faster than her, but then again... it meant they were all that much closer to the 'surprise'. Aruna felt her heart begin pound faster as she also realized her mate was there also, waiting for her as she'd asked. Thank goodness she had thought up this plan... "Tha... That's not fair, Father!" she called to him, laughing a bit. "I'm your daughter! I'm supposed to win!" As long as that spurred her father on...
As he ran past his daughter with nary a panting breath, he spotted red. For a split second, he thought it to be his beloved mate, Mahiri, and then realized it was a stallion... blood-red... and horned. It was Aruna's mate. He slowed down a bit, disappointed. Aruna's words, however, did as she had thought--they had spurred him on. "Ha! C'mon, Aruna--your old man is winning, and you're so much younger!" He called back, suddenly feeling a little bit more cheerful. Aruna was actually playing with him, for once... he remembered that, as a young filly, she never really had played much. Mostly ran around doing things that a young filly should never do... but who was he to control his children? That was the last thing he wanted...
She hoped to the last beat of her heart that this little reunion would really help her family, especially her brother. Bairn had seemed so down... what could she do? She was secretly angry at her human, Miakoda... the girl held her father back, keeping him with her. She needed to find out what Miakoda did... especially since her father didn't even know what his human bonded had done to be cast out.

Delano watched a light brown stallion and a reddish colored mare come into view. He watched a moment hinking how much it reminded him of Aruna a bit. And then the stallion charged towards him, but he had yelled something playfully to the mare. Perhaps they were related to Aruna? He kept his guard just in case. And then from the other direction, another stallion, similar to the other came racing into the open...and behind him was Aruna. Delano smiled and waited. Yes this must be her family. He had heard a bit about her worries over her parents from her, perhaps they would be reunited then and also get to meet him? That would be a happy moment. Lately there was many happy moments and he treasured them all. He decided to call out to her, perhaps she could even beat the stallion she raced if he encouraged her some. "Aruna! My love. I missed you so. I know you can run faster then that! " His expression went from guarded and proud to playful and obviously a loving gleam shone in his ruby orbs.

Yes, that definetly was Aruna's mate, Bairn told himself as he got closer. He heard the words the blood red unicorn yelled to his sister and it made him feel happier. She had seriously found someone for her this time, he wasn't just another Rahu. Stopping a few feet away from the unicorn, Bairn looked in the direction he did towards Aruna. With a giant smile on his face, he looked behind him at his mother, who had finally caught up to him. "Look over there." He whispered, pointing out Aruna and Hania.
Mahiri cast a curious look over at the unicorn. Why was he standing in the exact same spot Bairn told her the surprise would be. The mare's attention snapped back from Delano to her son when he spoke. "What? I..." She looked over there and screamed. "Ah! Hania! Hania! My mate! My love!" Her voice rang with happiness again as she watched her mate race towards her. This excitement made her want to run again, so without any hesitation Mahiri took off running towards Hania, almost tackling him. "Hania! Oh, my love I've missed you so much!"

Spotting Delano, she grinned. Perhaps now she would use that extra burst of energy... "Delano!" she called, delighted. Smirking, she went into action as she urged her legs into a run. She zoomed past her father, whom she noticed had slowed momentarily as he had spotted someone else--Mahiri. She smiled to herself. The plan had worked. Her father was probably in his own world... she blinked when both her parents fairly bolted at each other, nearly knocking themselves down. Chuckling, she grinned at her brother, throwing a wink in his direction, and slowed as she got toward Delano. "Love, how are you? I hope I didn't keep you waiting long?" she asked, nuzzling him happily.
Hania blinked as he saw a chocolate brown blur speed past him, causing a laugh to form on his mouth. His laughter quickly died as he spotted someone else whom he had thought he would never see again--his beloved mate, Mahiri. "HIRI!" he shouted, love, joy, and searing happiness sounding from his baritone stallion voice. He bolted toward her, having slowed down when Aruna had surprised him with her sudden speed, nearly being bowled over by his love. "Hiri! Hiri, Hiri, Hiri!" he chanted her name over and over, nuzzling her. "My mate, my love--how I've missed you so! Ah... you shine more beautiful than you were back then. What have you done to my heart, mare?" he teased, brown eyes sparkling with love and happiness.

Delano turned a glance at the light stallion who stopped a few feet from him, hearing a whisper to the reddish mare that accompanied him. He turned his head back to Aruna as the stallion motioned in their direction. It was at that moment he heard Aruna's reply call to him. Seeing the reddish mare and the light stallion with Aruna run to each other, he thought it best to wait for Aruna to come to him. At least that way they'd avoid crashing into the other two. He assumed these 2 must be her parents and they looked very much in love, although he chuckled as they collided. He felt Aruna's warm muzzle to his and her soft voice. He returned her gesture of affection and nuzzled her silken mane. "Not at all my love, although I miss you every moment you are away from me, my golden angel." He nibbled lightly at her neck playfully, before turning his gaze to her parents and smiling at their loving reunion. It was then he remembered the other light stallion who was still there a few feet away. He turned his eyes to him and nodded in greeting with a smile.(( sorry for the wait. I've been very unwell for the last 3 or so days))
