. .. ... >>> Raevans Slumber Party

[ General Rules ]

[.01] Respect all your fellow RPers. This goes without saying.
[.02] Read each post on the front page carefully. There is a set menu, and rules for if a character brings in more food/refreshments with them.
[.03] Only Raevans May Participate. Lurkers and Guardians may not participate. Cerena is the only exception seeing at the beginning and end of the RP, seeing as she lives here.
[.04] All other Lab Rules apply & Follow the Gaia T.O.S. The lab rules can be found on the first page of the Lab thread. The Gaia TOS should be followed under all circumstances, this should also go without saying!
[.05] Julian Sweet will be enforcing these rules - If you are asked OOC-ly to leave the thread due to breaking any of the rules, please do so without fuss.

[ RP Rules ]

[.01] Please post In Character (IC) in this thread. If you feel the need to comment OOC-ly, please put it between brackets [[ ]] or (( )) or whatever fancy brackets you like to use.
[.02] IC post is enforced. Every post needs to contain IC content! You cannot just post an OOC comment in this thread without any form of IC roleplaying.
[.03] No extensive l337 or n00b language allowed. Microsoft word is highly recommended for spell checking, although its grammar check is not always agreeable.
[.04] No God-modding. Even if your character has godly powers, you still can't godmod and kill all the other Raevans or owners. If you do there will be no one to RP with you anymore. And even Gods have weaknesses. Keep in mind that basically, "assuming" another character's reaction in any way, shape or form counts as god-modding!
[.05] Proper English is required. This means putting effort in what you write, getting "you're" right from "your" and "there" right from "their", spell checking, using proper grammar and whatnot. Even if you are ESL, there's something called dictionary.com and a spell and grammar checker in Microsoft word. It can be clearly seen from your RP posts whether you are putting effort in writing it or not.
[.06] Your first post (unless you are Koyuki or Cerena), should include coming in through Koyuki's FRONT DOOR. Easy enough to understand. Her house is surrounded by greenery, a little ways down from the lab itself. It's a four-square Asian style mansion, etc.

*Format taken from Julian's party, credits to him!

The Mansion [1st Floor]

User Image

Koyuki's/Cere's mansion is Asianesque style, with a central four-square building, branching off to two wings. Access to the two wings, the back courtyard, and the second floors are strictly forbidden. They are closed by mini-gates, which are electronically keyed to cards in the possession of Koyuki and Cerena, with an iris scan for top security. (Koyuki possesses some rather dangerous things in her house)

The entire first floor is open, except for where Cerena will be staying as the Raevans stay over. There is a swimming pool behind the house that Koyuki has cleaned and filled for the Raevans.

The grey areas are the actual indoor buildings. The thin white border is a walkway leading around the house, and the white area is a grassy area.

0: The entrance. A pair of double doors, they will be open to greet everyone. Leading up to the entrance is a nice little walkway, bordered by flowers and a nicely trimmed lawn. They open to a clearing with a pond in the center.

1: This is the small bridge on the pond, designed intricately with designs of roaring waters and dragons. Young children can run around on it, though it is more of a decoration than an actual bridge.

2: This is the pond in the middle of the clearing. It has a lot of koi fishes swimming in it, and a artificial mini-cliff with a spring spurns bubbling water on the side. It's bordered with rocks.

3: Cere is staying in this part of the house, with the rest of the kids. So these rooms are technically unavailable for the Raevans to explore.

4: Sevilin's rooms. Technically, the Raevans should be sleeping in these rooms... well, technically.

5: The east and west wings. Access is closed, gated.

6: An open, outdoor walk-way. You can go from the steps and go left or right to each side the house. It is made out of bamboo planks and very sturdy. Windchimes hang from the overhang between the first and second floors that covers these walkways.

7: These red lines are the sealed off ramps/staircases to the second floor. Access is not allowed. The first floor is open to the Raevans.

Couches, food, games are plenty, the kitchen is located right center of where the walkway is opened up. All things are provided and left up to the writer's imagination. Have fun in the house and try to not to blow it up.

The day before the party...

"CERE! ALL WE HAVE ARE GOURMET FOODS!!" Koyuki yelled from the kitchen, her voice traveling across their giant mansion, across the pond, up the stairs and into the room where Cere probably was with the rest of their something-thousand kids.

It was the day before the slumber party that some brilliant parent of a Raevan suggested and Koyuki twice as enthusiastically endorsed. However, she was regretting her decision to procrastinate on the preparations. Their housekeeper was out with an illness, and Koyuki had absolutely no clue what to do about the food.

Decorations.

Drinks.

Entertainment.

Or anything, for that matter.

Sevilin covered his sensitive ears-fins-earfins at the sound of his mother's voice and floated into the kitchen. As soon as he moved in, he regreted his decision.

"SEV. WHAT DO YOU KIDS EAT THESE DAYS?!"

Cerena's headfeathers twitched at the sudden noise; it was not until several moments later that she finally realized it was Koyuki speaking. "Lethe," she began hurriedly as she got to her feet, placing Eden down on the floor with her brother, "Look after your siblings, alright?"

The Fa'e shrugged noncommitally. "Ok. Can I watch the television?"

"Sure," her guardian said without much thought, tying her hair up into a loose bun. She left the room to find Koyuki, remembered something, and came wandering back into the giant converted-playroom again. "What's the magic word?"

Lethe considered this carefully, watching Eden crawl off to a corner to chew on a stuffed rabbit's head. Raziel was, as always, napping. "Bibbity bobbity boo," she said finally.

"Have fun," Cerena agreed and left.

She quickly scurried through the hall, down the stairs, across the bridge over the pond, and across the giant mansion in what was probably a futile attempt to make sure Koyuki would not burn the house down trying to prepare some food for some part. She didn't quite know the details, but -- it was something to do, right? And it was better her than Chai, anyway; the mintyhaired girl would probably convince their poor housemate to hire some strippers or something equally ridiculous.

"I'M HERE!" She flapped her arms frantically, running into the kitchen. "QUICK, TURN OFF THE OVEN BEFORE -- oh, hi Sev!" To Koyuki, apparently forgetting their non-existant oven crisis, she said, "Check the high cupboards, Franz -- the usual cook -- usually puts all the junk food up there where the kids can't get them."

Cerena included, but she wasn't about to tell them that.

Koyuki hugged Cerena and practically cried into her shoulders, "Thank you and I love you and and.."

She ran over to the high cupboards and after 4 failed attempts at jumping to reach them, she finally managed to crawl up the counter to reach them.

"Let's see! ... You guys eat a lot of things with cheese in them," The wolf girl commented as she sorted through the junk that their children -- and Cerena -- weren't supposed-to-eat-but-did-anyway and prepared to throw things down by the package when...

"Mom. We don't eat yet, remember?" Sevilin tried to inform Koyuki helpfully, "Absorb energy. No tummy."

He gestured at the swirls where his stomach, intestines, pancreas and the like were supposed to be at.

"Duh." Koyuki smacked her head, "And don't tell me. All Raevans absorb energy from different things..."

Sevilin nodded. Koyuki looked to the skies for some kind of sign from the beings from above -- like striking her with lightning so she doesn't have to grow white hair over this.

She closed the cupboard door and jumped down from the counter with as much dignity as she could muster, and clung onto Cerena again, "WHAT DO WE DOOOOO?!"

Her child closed his delicate hands over his sensitive ears for the second time in the past 5 minutes.

Though managing to gracefully stand her ground the first time, Koyuki's second 'embrace' nearly bowled Cerena over. Wasn't Koyuki the older, more-educated and worldly one? What was Koyuki doing clinging to her, a very small thing? Cerena looked helplessly between Koyuki and Sev.

Hunh. Raevans. Absorbing things. Wow, that sounded vaguely like Pokemon! Now Pokemon she could understand, at least better than legless people with no stomachs...

"Weee-eeell... What sorts of things do your people absorb, Sev? And do you know who's coming?" This last part was directed towards Koyuki. "We can probably figure it out! Even if we don't before the party, you can always ask them as they come in, and send me out to get the stuff while you.. distract--er, entertain them?"

Sevilin shrugged, "Energy. Things we like?"

"Um. Yeah, things they like. Something related to their souls. Who's coming? I think.. Lazzie, Meli, Kalec... Sisay... Luka, Vyn, Gage, Roux and...Rivener!" Koyuki rattled off the names she invited, "I'm not sure who are coming though.."

Sev nodded.

"So all we have to do is to figure out what each of them would absorb energies from!?"
PostPosted: Thu Aug 03, 2006 5:32 pm

"Energy," Cerena repeated; it was obvious she didn't quite grasp the concept. "Like.. from the socket? Electricity? Or like I give you a pear -- if you liked pears -- and you.. absorb.... the energy?"

There was the distinct sound of her brain breaking.

"Uhh, well, that last part should be easy enough, right? What kind of Raevans are they?" Sev was -- was -- well, something to do with water, so... "Maybe fish for you? Or um... just plain old water?" She attempted.

"... Uh well... Sev likes the sea. He knows what he wants, anyway. Lazzie. Lava?" Koyuki mused, "Vyn... is a rose. Fertilizer?"

Sev shrugged.

"And Kalec is um... dragon man thing," Koyuki blinked, "What do dragons eat?"

Sev shrugged again, "Dead babies?" He had read in some fantasy book that dragons ate dead babies.

Koyuki's eyes widened a little, "Dead babies? This is going to be hard..." She flipped open her cellphone and hit the speed dial for Arlian, the man who does all the ordering for things Koyuki used for experiments and such. Illegal or legal.

"Arlian, honey, could you express 2 bags of Miracle-Gro fertilizers, and um, some dead babies?" Koyuki talked animated into the phone, and muffled talking from the other end could be heard, "What do you mean, you can't import dead babies!?"

More muffled talking, and Koyuki hanged up, "Sev. Are you sure dragon-things eat dead babies?"

Sev shrugged for the third time, "I dunno. Maybe they eat fresh meat."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 03, 2006 6:55 pm

"No one eats dead babies!" Cerena looked slightly insulted at that. "Not even dead babies eat dead babies!" Well, not that that made any sense, but... "Look, don't dragons like shiny things? Treasure and gold and stuff? In the fairy tales they're always hoarding things... Otherwise I think dragons eat... sheep and cows. Yeah! They carry them off from the villages! And then the villagers get mad and chase after them with pitchforks and torches and stuff."

Dead babies, honestly!

"Okay, well. These kids eat odd stuff. I think I'll just order a bit of each thing. Like an iceberg from the North Pole!" Koyuki redialed Arlian's order and gave him a list of what she wanted, arguing with him until he agreed. Hanging up, she sighed.

"Now that's taken care of.. we need to tidy up the mansion. Cere, where will you be staying tonight?"
PostPosted: Sun Aug 13, 2006 7:18 pm

"I can stay in the guest house," Cerena volunteered, jerking a thumb in the direction of her old home. "Or in the east wing -- we have hundreds of rooms here, I don't think it'll be a problem."

As for tidying up the mansion... She really didn't want to sound like a snob but -- that's what the servants were for! No amount of bribery would make her clean anything! ...Okay, maybe for some cookies. Or even just one. "I'll look after the kids too, so you won't have to worry about them."

"Yeah, this is just a Raevan's only party, but I don't see a problem with you staying in the other side. Just in case, you know. Plus, the kids should stay here, just out of the way," She mused, mentally noting all their other kids -- Eden, Raziel, Dante, Lethe, etc.

"I'll ask the servants to dust up and air up the place, and I'll lock the mini-gates in front of the stairs leading up to the second floor. We'll just open up the first floor, it's more than enough. Sev! Go find the housekeeping team and tell them to start now," Koyuki shooed him out of the room and Sev went to do his mother's bidding.

She hugged her friend again, "I can't take them to Julian's party, but if you need help, just tell me. I'm sure I can rope someone to help. You're awesome, Cere!"

"Hey, I managed just fine by myself for a while, right?" Cerena grinned at her friend, hugging back. "Anyway, don't burn the house down... Will there be any alchohol? You have all the emergency numbers, right?"

It was odd to hear herself sounding so, well, er, naggy (dear lord she hoped her mother would never hear wind of this) but it was Koyuki, safety couldn't be stressed enough.

"Yeah, well, you didn't have to take care of 15 billion kids and a mansion the last time you were by yourself. Just in case, you know," Koyuki was quite serious. The last time Artemis had been left alone with the stoves -- well, yeah.

"Um, there'll be alcohol, I think, but whatever! And yep, I got all the emergency numbers..." She flipped open her phone and listed them off, "I got Gambino's, the president's, the lady who does my manicures, and the United Nations."
