This is Cee's quest for a southern flannel moth. Her reasons for desiring it can be summed up in the following conversation: Quote: Coronaviridae: http://community.livejournal.com/invertebrates/189405.html?style=mine -- Also, look at this thing. Coronaviridae: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Megalopyge_opercularisMPCCP20040714-5799A.JPG -- And this thing, which is the moth of the species. Destinae Dominus: The puss caterpillar is adorable. Destinae Dominus: The moth is like some sort of horrible plush toy from Hell.

Name: Gallia, from Arabic Ghaliya, "precious, jewel". Surname Virus. Gender: Female Animal: Puss moth (Megalopyge opercularis)
Hair style: Long and braided down the back. The braid is mostly smooth, but has short, stiff hairs sticking out of it down its length. Hair color: Bright red as a toddler and child; creamy white once she's metamorphosed into a moth. Skin color: Creamy gray. Clothing: Something that won't flatten her hairs too much! She'll probably run around naked as a toddler. Indecent! D: Personality: Timid, shy, quiet, studious. Clingy, too, but since she is unfortunately covered with stinging hairs of death, she has to limit her clinging to things that won't have an allergic reaction just from her touching them. She'll collect stuffed animals, large and small, that she can cuddle with safely. Markings: As a toddler, a long red stripe down her back. Her palms, chest, belly, throat, and face will be a much lighter color than the fur on her back--creamy white, instead of a middling gray. Once she's metamorphosed into a moth, she should have the same marking scheme as the southern flannel moth--honey-colored back with lighter patches of cream, leading into white lower edges of her wings, with black forearms and legs (from the knee down). Eye color: Bright blue. Eye style: Human-like, large. Pose: Withdrawn into herself, sort of curled-up. Extra: Not a thing~! Go wild. Potential skill: Utricating (stinging) hairs Potential dragons: Dracolich(?!) {can't be affected by stings}, black dragon {dragon is acid-resistant}, copper dragon {see black dragon; also, there's already a copper dragon--Citrine--living in the household part-time}, green dragon {forest-type dragon, similar habitat to the flannel moth).

Other critters I'm considering questing for: Scaleless dragonfish (Melanostomias bartonbeani) Bloodybelly comb jelly (Lampocteis cruentiventer) Pale chanting goshawk (Melierax canorus) OR dark chanting goshawk (Melierax metabates) -- possibly as "twins"? Sea wasp (Chironex fleckeri) Pacific hagfish (Eptatretus stoutii) Deepsea lizardfish (Bathysaurus ferox) Any of the Hydrolagus sp. chimerae (ratfishes) Typhonic beast Microraptor zhaoianus Opabinia regalis OR Anomalocaris canadensis Big-eared bat (Macrotus waterhousii)
