Minna grinned as she looked out the helicopter window. Below she saw a vast expanse of tropical island, the closest she'd ever been to even a beach had been when her parents had taken her to Alabama. Needless to say she was exhilarated as the helicopter landed on the island. She grinned as she grabbed her regular camera, snapping shots as she hopped out of the mechanical device.

Malik stepped out too, he had been sitting next to the pilot and didn't have a chance to speak other then hello. The loud whirring of the helicoptor wasn't the ideal setting for conversations either, and they had been hushered in quickly as if they were late for an appointment.
He took in a deep breath as soon as he was away from the whirligig, his cane tapping the path with each step until he hit sand. His painkillers will keep him going for a few more hours so a bit of wondering was in order.
Malik saw the young women snapping shots enthusiastically and knew he should've bought a camera too. The island was breath taking, the sun peaked from behind the trees for it was still early morning, and the warm wind brushed against his skin, pulling gentle at his off-white shirt that was buttoned loosely.
"Hi, I didn't have chance to introduce myself earlier." He grinned, leaning on his cane and tucking a laptop under his arm as he held out a now free hand to shake. "I'm Malik, but MJ is good too."

"Oh hi! I'm Minna.", she replied after lowering her camera. She quickly grabbed the hand he had offered and shook enthusingly.
"What brings you here? Vacation?"

"Ah, oh ha ha I wish." He replied catching on to her American accent and noticing his own British one was painfully posh sounding. He fumbled with his laptop that was starting to slip and tucked it back under his arm.
"No, I'm here on, uh, business of sorts. Health stuff really, nothing work related. You on holi- uh, vacation?" MJ stumbled over the foreign word, eager to avoid talking about his illness.

"Not hardly. I'm here because I work for a tabloid, degrading as it is, and I'm really supposed to be investigating Elvis sightings, but I'm more than likely going to goof off. May I ask what kinda of medical stuff?", she asked while giving him a questioning look.
She also noticed the distinctly British quality of his voice, and hoped to God he didn't take her for an idiot due to the thick southern drawl of her own.

His grin became wider and he bit his lower lip at the possible 'elvis sightings.' trying to hide his amusement. He had heard of the strange newspapers they had over there, that was always looking into paranormal stuff and of course Elvis sightings. What was they said about him in Men in Black? Well at least she didn't seem to believe it thank god, he really can't deal with fans like that.
Mj's grin shrunk a bit at the question about his medical stuff and stared for her for a second trying to remember if Feral labs mentioned about not telling anyone, better play it safe, he didn't want to get sued or anything. Also he hated the sympathy and fragile handling of people when he told them.
"Oh, uh, best not discuss it, contract of Feral labs you know." Eyes flickered to avoid contact then he limped on trying to swiftly change the subject once again.
"Sooo... wanna meet the 'natives'?" He asked playfully, unaware of who or what the natives really were.

"Yea sure, why not." She swiftly and professionaly returned her camera to her bag. Seeing him begin to wak away, she started in a jog to catch up.
"This should be intresting huh?" she asked, her shorter legs pumping to keep up.

"Well, Dr. Mareau said they were mostly volunteers of the lab's experiments, such as myself. Well, uh, it'll be just medical stuff, I guess.” At that mention, Malik's arm and the back of the neck became itchy again, where they had given him the injections, not really saying what it was, probably some long winded name that he'd never be able to repeat never mind remember, but they said it may cure him or at least provide some interesting results that they curiously didn't elaborate on. He didn't really like Dr. Mareau, he couldn't put his finger on it to say why, just didn't trust him, which considering he was in charge of this operation Malik had to ignore his gut or just not go through with the treatments and that wasn't an option.
He realised Minna was struggling to keep up, sometimes even with his limp he managed to walk quite fast. He slowed down to a more leisurely amble, smiling down at her. “I pretty much doubt Elvis would be here though, not his cup of tea as the saying goes.” He teased.

She rolled her eys as she caught up with him. " Tell it to my boss, that fat a** wouldn't know Elvis from a hole in the ground. The only reason I'm here is because I acctualy listen to his music. But your right, I don't think this would be a place to find the king." She sighed, taking in the landscape as she walked. " I dunno anything about Dr.Moreau, just that he and my boss secured everything here for me. You mean that wasn't a relaxative they gave us?"

Malik laughed at her reply, he looked over his shoulder to see the helicopter fly into the distance. "Well we're stuck here now. Not that I mind at all, do you think they'd have a bar here?" Malik asked hopefully with a grin, which turned into a thoughtful smile at her question.
"A relaxative? Not for me, for you I would've thought so, but I could've done with one of those myself. Of course I think I'll make do with using my initiative, with the help of alcohol. Now, I wonder where our welcoming guides are, surely they heard the helicopter?"

"A bar would be wonderful. I wonder if there's a check -in desk or something?", she thought outloud. The wind blew her hair over her shoulders, ruffled the peasent top she was wearing, and caused her lage hoop earrings to flap in the breeze. Absent mindedly she reached in her bag, pulled out a bright orange scrunchi and twisted her hair in a ponytail.

As the wind picked up, Malik brushed his long strands of dark brown hair from his eyes without much success. "Maybe. Ah, that's a good idea." He said, noticing her put a brightly coloured scrunchi in her hair. He forgot to bring his band as usually he never wears his hair up, although sometimes it does prove useful. "Maybe they have a shop here too." He pondered aloud.

He fought with the wind to see then looked at her sidewards. "Anything? Well I'd best settle with a band though, any would do, thanks."

She reached into the bag, and quickly retrived a thin black hair band.
"Here you go.", she held out her hand to give him the band.
