Final Fantasy VI is such an old game that a lot of the time it's the one game that got someone interested in RPGs in the first place. Ergo, the way in which someone was introduced to FFVI becomes an anecdote.

I first got introduced to FFVI when I was at the local video store trying to rent FFIV for the tenth time. Someone else had rented it and I spied the FFVI box. I figured it'd be a decent substitute until FFIV got back. Turned out to be better, so I started renting VI religiously instead. Bought both when the store finally sold them.

I played it at a friend's house once via the multiplayer abilities, however limited they were. xp

Well I was already a fan of final fantasy so I rented ff6 when it came out. Played it for like 3 days and begged my mom to buy it for me. It took alot to convince her to spend 80 bucks on the game. I also got the players guide by peter olafson which is to date the greatest players guide for any game ever. It's almost like reading a novel he tells so much story. I also still have the soundtrack.

Hmm...about 8 years ago, I was decideing which game I wanted to rent for the weekend. I didn't see any games that looked good, so I was looking through them for the 4th or 5th time...I don't know how I missed it before, but then I saw Final Fantasy III for the SNES. I took a look at it, and decided it looked like a fun game. I played it when I got home & loved it. Unfortunately, I couldn't buy it as I never saw it in stores, but I rented it every weekend. Then, when Final Fantasy Anthology came out for the PSX, I noticed that it had Final Fantasy VI in it (which I had learned the last year was the same as the SNES Final Fantasy III), and bought it as soon as I had enough money. Rather odd, as Boberyno stated above, this is the game that got me into RPGs.

I used to (and still do) collect video game music, even though I hadn't played most of the games. I had a few songs from FFVI that I loved, so I guess that's my first experience with the game. I didn't actually get it until I played a few other FFs.

My friend had an old SNES, and I saw it gathering dust in the corner. I pulled it out, and asked if I could borrow it. He agreed and also let me borrow FFVI (or III), because he was addicted to FFVII. I was instantly hooked.

when i was younger, i use to watch my brother and sister play Final Fantasy games all the time and i would always want to play... but i was too young to play or understand what the whole point of the game was. sweatdrop but yeah, that's pretty much it, as soon as i was old enough i started playing IV first then VI. it definately paid off watching my bro and sis play because i ended up knowing how to obtain certain items and had an easier time getting through dungeons. 3nodding

My uncle is the basis of most my major interests. Hes only like 9 years older than me and the youngest of my mother's siblings so I stuck to him like...something sticky.. Anyway, he was a gamer and I tagged along with him throughout the days of nintendo, and then the mightier days of the super nitendo came around. I ended up watching him play for hours on end. Eventually he moved on to the Sega Saturn and the Play Station after that. He ended up giving me both the Super Nintendo and the Sega Saturn and now I own those and I forgot where I was going with this story.

I was at a movie place with my mom. Gosh, this was like, 10 years ago. And I saw FF3 for the SNES, and for some WEIRD reason I decided to rent it. I started playing a game that was allready on there. And I kept on doing the Serpent trench-Nikea-Barron Falls-Veldt circle for HOURS! My mom would say "Ok, time to take the game back" and I'd be like "No! Im finaly getting somewhere!". It wasnt until my mom finaly bought me the game, and I played through from the begining, that I realized I was just going in circles. heh.

Up until VII, that was the most awesome game ever!!! Everything about VI was just perfect in every way! I played it when I was... 10, I think... My parents had it for a while and I just happened across it one day. Greatest blessing ever!
