I just got back from teaching at Inspiration Point in Arkansas, and like every year, it rocked.
This 12ish year old kid not only won the concerto competition with Vivaldi's Winter (1st mvt) But he also played the first movement to Mozart Violin Concerto No.5 in A Major. This kid seriously rocks. And during his Mozart solo, there was a daddy long leg spider crawling all over him eek Since I was stage manager all I could do was watch from my little side of the theater and think "that poor kid... if he sees that thing, he's going to flip."
Yeah, just figured I'd share that story. smile

Holy flippin' cow!!! If I had a spider crawling all over me while trying to play something like that... I think I just might die... (Not that I could play that in the first place... but you know...)
