In the 21st century magic is just something that is seen in movies, novels or comics. It even something that some deluded people follow as a religion, sure that they can cast 'spells' or call on spirits. But where does this come from, well it could be the witch trails hundreds of years ago.
In medieval times if someone was thought to be a witch it was the fire or a drowning nad that worked quiet well for those that had no power, they were just poor inoccent people. But there was magic everywhere in that time, the seeds of an apple for protection, and amulet or the circle creating unity.
Well it was this that created the first white witches, those that used magic for protection. Over the years they were the ones to keep the demonic hoards at bay, but after the witch trails many were killed, as they would not protect themselves. And year after year let more demons into our world.
With the 'old' magic gone new witches were born with supernatural gifts such as forsight or limited control over fire to protect them from the powerful demons now plaguing the world. Its now in the 21st century as I said before and magic has develop to a few here and there having the gifts of magic and many of them never using them.
But it has come to a time where the magic has gathered strongly into a group of teenagers, those that are destined to save the world from the demons who are freely killing each night. To help these teenagers is an acient book that has most demonic species and how to vanquish them with either a spell or potion. Whith this these teenagers must balance their normal life with their supernatural one, keeping the knowledge of magic hidden.
Ok each teenager is learning to control their power so they don't just go 'fire' and have perfect control etc. Their powers aren't meant to be super strong, only things like moving objects, teleportation etc as they use chantations to vanquish demons.

Power: Gets random glimpses of the future.
Biography: Kenny has been expelled from several schools for cheating, although definitive proof has never been found. However, despite knowing nothing of the material she would occasionally get perfect scores on her tests. A foster kid, Kenny finally gave up on her foster parents and school, running away. Survives on a small sum of money she won in the state lottery, although she keeps busy at several odd jobs, none of which she's been able to hold down. Recently arrested for possession, Kenny now does community service at a local high school as the assistant janitor.
Weakness (I felt this necessary): Kenny's visions are often vague and incomplete. Constantly she misreads them and occasionally doesn't even notice, acting on what she believes is "intuition." Is ignorant is many subjects, like math and science.
Traits: Despite being a drop-out, Kenny harbors a secret love for reading and foreign languages. She secretly takes classes at the local community college. In her more public life, the woman adores games of chance and a good game of hockey.

Biography: Grew up in an orphanage so those closest to her were the Sisters that looked after her and her best friends there; they very much have become her family. Having had a bad experience at her original school, she is now unwilling to let others except those she grew up with in her thoughts. Being orphans, school wasn't great and Jackie made it her point to protect her 'family' as well. Jackie excelling in her studies meant she was head-hunted by the school she's enrolled in now and apparently more happy.
Traits: Seemingly outgoing and carefree, on top of being atheletic and intelligent, Jackie is popular at her new school and always surrounded by a crowd of people. Yet she in many ways portrays the phrase "You can be surrounded by people and still be lonely."
