It's a short story from what I heard. It's in the Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide, but I didn't get that far yet so I can't say anymore. whee

It is a short story. It's basically background about how Zaphod got to become the President of the universe, and was put into a position to steal the heart of gold. it's ok, but lacks alot of the flavor and sophisticated humor of the 5 novels. still, definitely worth a read for any true fan.

Ankhaiser It is a short story. It's basically background about how Zaphod got to become the President of the universe, and was put into a position to steal the heart of gold. it's ok, but lacks alot of the flavor and sophisticated humor of the 5 novels. still, definitely worth a read for any true fan. I need to pick up that book again.... *kicks Skool*

I really liked 'Young Zaphod Plays it Safe' -its gotta be Adams most satisfying plot ending. It answers two more mysteries of lifekind; what is the most dangerous weapon mankind has ever created, and can Zaphod really drink two beers @ once?

Yeah, I read it in one class period... It does answer a lot of questions that you probably weren't asking... such as 'how did Zaphod come to get Marvin? I mean, did he buy him, or did he just come with the ship?'
