You have been led from the space transport in a tropical awe. The two Masters of the Sith and Jedi Temples didn't say a word, but led you through a path and into a tall, cleverly shaped building, that was just wide enough that you could see a sliver of the two Temples, but nothing more.
"Please wait in here," the short man with the goggles grumbled. It was impossible to tell, but he might have been glaring.
The woman nodded regally. "We will summon you when the time arrives."
And with that, you are put into the room. It is tall, and has expansive windows reaching up the walls and opening up to a glass ceiling. Light pours in from all directions illuminating a vast number of bugs anxiously flying around in the tropical heat. A number of chairs line the walls, and two doors serve as the only exits. One, which you entered from, and another new door... which remains locked.
Waiting Room Rules:--Until called for by the NPCs, all RP must start and remain inside of the room. --Interaction between children is encouraged. --Have fun!

So which is the Sith and which is the Jedi?
This was the dominant question in the young lad's mind after both elders took their leave. His small legs bore him to one of the simplistic chairs the lined the room, limbs giving out as he plopped down into the somewhat uncomfortable seat. His bag slid from his shoulder, coming to a rest at his side on the solid ground with a thud. The casual movements seemed almost alien to the boy, if only because of his lack of consciousness. He was, point-blank, much too tired to even begin to evaluate his current situation, or anything else for that matter; his pervious question had already slipped from his grasp with one of his soft sighs in hopes of waking himself up with the sound. Needless to say, it wasn't very successful.
Jin had taken to hovering laps around his new partner, making few sounds beyond the mechanical and wind echoes from whatever mechanism that kept him aloft. In truth, the droid seemed far more interested in their surroundings than Edan, the brilliant crimson optic turning this way and that to take it all in.
"Woooo," the dark orb cooed, the sound long and low as if in dread. The silver circle that was the outline of his eye was partly filled with a thin black piece of metal similar to the majority of his build. This particular part served as his eyelid, as Edan had quickly learned, opening and closing like any creature's would, including in communicating emotions. Now the droid was placed in a sense of ominous fear, a warning of spiteful forces within the planet. Though with the Sith having also built their temple here, it didn't seem a far cry that to be the source of his discomfort.
He turned back to the youth, droning slightly when he realized the boy had fallen asleep. Jin drew in close to his ear, the mixture of beeps, whirls, and clicks his form of speech tight with scolding anger.
How dare he fall asleep at a time like this?
Sleep. That's what he needed. After riding from the green gem Dantooine to the honorable Naboo he would admit to a muffled yawn or two in the elevator before meeting his sponsor. And what a meeting it was. The boy could hardly attempt considering any others with a personality quite like hers... or such a diabolical sense of pets, either. Not that he'd ever want to meet someone else like that, mind you. Still... not the worst person in the universe in his eyes. The droid nestled in his lap was proof enough of that.
Or, at least the one he had thought was still in his lap. No, the little thing was right next to his head, and making quiet a commotion... that rather hurt his ear, too. Edan yelped, hands flashing up to clamp down over his abused ears, glaring up at the still chattering -though much softer now- droid. "Jin, why did you have to do that? I'm really tired."
The droid only grumbled, returning to his intense scanning of the area. The redhead let out a breath, letting his hands fall back to his knees with the groggy realization he was finally awake.
His emerald gaze drifted around the room, finding no difference between the materials that constructed the floor from the walls. Without the vast numbers of large windows, he wondered if his mind would have played tricks on him, making the room stretch on and on in endless gray. It was a bewildering thought, though the heat and number of large insects cut his time of pondering short.
"I wonder... if Kailey's mother had to deal with these bugs," he muttered, slapping one that had landed on his hand for a bloody meal. Somehow, he just had to say no to that idea... No, he was just lucky and was stuck with them, that's all.
Shaking his head, he finally noted the existence of other children in the room. He blinked. A Twi'lek, a human girl, and... wait a minute, was that a Wookiee?

"Hey bugs!" Exclaimed Ayanna happily. The little human girl was more excited than she had ever been before in her life, and that was very excited indeed. Dumping her bag on a a convenient chair, and then more careful placing the potted plant with exotic pink flowers, like the bloom she wore behind her ear on the floor, she surveyed her sourroundings.
The bugs were awfully neat. All different colours, some shining in the air like gems as the darted around the room. Ayanna liked this room, it reminded her of home back on Aaris III, only with more people. Aaris had still only recently been colonized and her family had been even more secluded than most, so to see other people and even better, others her own age had been one of the best things about this adventure so far. In fact, right there was one of the main reasons she had decided to come to the temples here.
She had reached the conclusion that the tall woman and the little man were very important, but she wasn't sure which one would be in charge of her. One must have been Jedi and the other Sith, that would make sense. She hoped she got the little man. He was just so cute! Plus the woman was a bit imposing... She was so tall and regal looking. Of course, if she was with the woman, maybe she could learn to walk and move like that too.
Ayanna turned her attention to the other children in the room, there was one other human, although he was a boy, a girl she thought might be a Twilk or something like that, although she had never seen one before and only heard of them in passing from her brother, and a wookiee. That was exciting, she had met wookiees before, they were usually very nice, although she still wasn't very good at their language yet, she could hardly speak it at all, but she understood a fair amount if their accent was close to the one she had learned from.
The Twilk and the Wookiee seemed to be wrapped up in their own thoughts, while the boy was looking around the room as well. Well, if it had to be done it had to be done, and anyway, she was away from home now, she was supposed to be grown up, she would just have to get along with boys from now on. Plus was that a droid he had with him? There weren't very many droids on Aaris, they broke down too often, and weren't really worth repairing when you could be buying things to fix up your home, or your boat or new plants.
Walking over she smiled at him "Hi! I'm Ayanna, what's your name? Your droid is very nice by the way."

The boy watched with curious eyes as the human girl approached him. Almost instantly, his gaze was directed to the pink flower in her blonde hair, so similar to ones he would expect to find in the jungle surrounding them. He would not deny the slight nervous wave in his voice as he responded cheerfully, "My name's Edan, and this is Jin." He gestured to the droid she spoke of, and his small smile grew wider at her words. "Well, he's not exactly mine... Or, well, I guess he is now. He was a gift from my sponsor, you see," he explained, features twisted in his own confusion as to Jin's ownership.
"But thank you though, Ms. Ayanna." He waved his hand to disperse the growing numbers of bugs around him, cheery attitude falling in the annoyance. Jin hovered closer to the new girl, more so the flower as though he shared Edan's high interest in the plant. Peeking around her, Edan sighted the potted plant. "Um, Ms. Ayanna, are you by chance from around here?" He pointed to the flower as he spoke, referring to it as the source of his question.

"My sponsor made me cookies, but I ate them." Commented Ayanna reflectively for a moment. Maybe she had been meant to save them and share? Well, they had been very good in any case. "You can just call me Ayanna. And nope! I'm from Aaris III, it's pretty small. Well, the planets not, but the number of people is ya know? This room kind of reminds me of home though, if they could get the ocean in here somehow it would be perfect!"
"These flowers are actually called ayanna blooms, they're from Aaris too. I was named after them I guess, which is neat, but it makes me laugh, I'm just glad they picked the flowers to name me after instead of like.. a chair or something! Where are you from Edan?" She asked, cocking her head curiously. Edan seemed very nice, and Jin made her laugh. Not for any particular reason, he just did.
This whole being away from home thing was going pretty well so far, she had met new people like she'd hoped and she wasn't near as homesick as she'd feared. Although she did miss the fish. Fish were fun.

Edan chuckled, making a mental note to write to his mother few people seemed to use formalities when dealing with names outside of Dantooine, or at least their family. Won't she be shocked to hear this, though?
For a time, he simply sat and listened to Ayanna, smiling as he did so. Although he could easily understand what she was saying, he couldn't help but laugh inwardly on just how much she talked. Not that he minded her chattering, it was just so amusing to him. But then, maybe that's what coming from a remote farm did to your social life.
He perked up though upon hearing mention of the ocean. "So, you lived by the ocean? What's it like?" A pause, he listened more, and laughed, "I can relate to not many people living on your home world. I'm from Dantooine, so there's really only just a few settlers and small cities around the landingpads."
Edan had to agree when his mind caught up and registered what she had said, being named after the flowers was really cool, but to be named after a chair...? He shuttered to think of such a cruel parent. But... what was he named after? This train of thought brought him into a deeper silence before returning to the present with a faint blush.
"You can sit down, if you want, Ayanna. It must be uncomfortable to keep standing like that."

"Yeah! Don't you have an ocean on Dantooine? I don't know very much about other places yet.. The ocean is.. It's huge! Water as far as you can see. But you shouldn't drink it though, because it's salty and would make you sick. Well, sometimes I drink it, and I've never been sick, but you aren't supposed to. I had a friend who lived in the ocean. He was very spiny." She added as an afterthought.
Ayanna cheerfully perched on a chair near Edan, in truth standing had never bothered her. For all that she was talkative, and she was enthusiastic, she also knew patience, she knew how to stand still for hours if she needed to. Stil, it had been awfully nice of him to think of it. "I don't think Aaris even had cities like your home did. Mostly we just had families. Some families lived near each other, so there might be three or four homes all together, but not mine."

"We have oceans, yeah, but I never got to see it. I always had to help out on the farm or in the city when we'd go." His voice dropped as he sighed, suddenly finding himself longing to see the ocean. Her description of it was similar to his brother's though it could do little to place a perfect picture in his mind. "Y-you had a friend who... lived in the water? Really?" His attention snapped back with wide eyes and a gaping mouth. He'd heard stories about creatures that lived in the waters -mermaids, if he remembered correctly-, but never about someone actually being friends with one. It hardly even occurred to him she could be talking about something completely different, though.
Edan nodded as she continued, fascinated with her talk about her home world. "Aeris sounds a lot like Dantooine. I mean, I guess we had more people, but they were all spread out mostly. But... why didn't your family live together?" He tilted his head, features softened in concerned curiosity. It didn't seem right to him that family would live far apart from each other instead of close where contact would be simple. Plus, they could miss important events if they were far away.
Jin, he saw out of the corner of his eye, hovered between them, alternating between watching the two younglings and the Twi'lek and Wookiee. However, he too seemed more interested in Ayanna's story than the other life forms.

"Yeah! Kilek, he was a, a.." her brow wrinkled slightly as she thought of the unfamiliar term, Kilek hadn't liked to talk very much about himself or where he came from, so she had had to glean bits and pieces of his history from the other things he said. "Sauvax! That was it. He had six legs, and really big claws and a tail. He scared me when I first met him, but really he was very nice."
"Well, the only people related to me on Aaris were my parents and my brother. I lived with just my brother cause umm.. My parents.. They were nice I think, and I think they did want to look after my brother and me, but... They weren't very good really, so my brother took me away and we lived on our own. He was a fisherman you know! You need to be careful to fish on Aaris, lots of dangerous fish, and nice smart ones that you don't really want to catch either." It was funny, at the start Ayanna had seemed troubled, picking her words carefully, but by the end she was as cheerful as ever.

"A... a Sauvax...?" He blinked, shifting through his memories to see if any might have mentioned such a creature. Bonus points if he'd actually seen one. Unfortunately, like he'd previously guessed, he had absolutely no knowledge about that species. Not like it was a huge shocker there, but it was still a bit disappointing. "I don't think I've ever heard of them before. But, they sound kind of scary."
He grew silent as she explained her family's situation, looking down at his hands clasped together over his knees. He didn't understand what she meant by her parents weren't very good. Good at what? The answers he thought of he would hardly consider speaking aloud, being as ghastly as they were. Surely her parents weren't as bad to-
"Your brother sounds like a great person, Ayanna," he smiled, soon laughing as he thought about the fish. "The ocean's so big on so many planets, they say the largest creatures can only be found in the waters. I wonder how big they get..."
Events had settled, and the droid found no current reason to remain aloft and so settled in the boy's arms. Already his circuits and brain were analyzing and categorizing sights and signals collected through the day, readying his personal report when the boy finally wrote to his family and sponsor. But for now... Jin beeped a few times, informing the youth of his actions and promptly shut himself down for a good rest.

"Like I said, he terrified me when I first saw him, but really he's very nice. More patient than most of the humans I know actually. And yeah, huge things live in the oceans! I've seen some really big fish and stuff, waaaaaaaay bigger than me, and Kilek says those are small compared to some things even just on my planet. My brother is very nice, he convinced me I should come study here. What's your family like Edan? If you don't mind me asking of course." She added after a moment's thought.
Some people had things they wouldn't really like to talk about after all, and that was simply the way it was. You could probably find out, or get them to tell you, but that wasn't really a very nice thing to do.

A sea dweller that was more patient than most humans? There was a new concept for him. Not as much as the idea of creatures over twice Ayanna's size being small fry to those whose home was in the vast, deeper waters further out, but still close.
"Er... my family?" He blinked, resting his chin in the palm of his hand, elbow planted on his leg. "Well, they're like any other family on Dantooine, I guess. There's my mother and father -both farmers-, and my older brother and sister -they help out around the farm and sell things in the city-, and me." He stuck he tongue out playfully, rubbing the back of his head. "There's really not much to tell, really." As an afterthought, he took a breath and placed his hands back on his knees, gaze downcast after glancing at the girl. Was it wrong of him to say it in such a way? Did he offend her?
Not that she seemed like an easy person to offend, though.

Ayanna laughed, her eyes sparkling with amusement "You were a farmer and I was a fisher and now we're here. Funny how stuff turns out sometimes hey?"
And it did seem funny. When Ayanna thought of the Sith and Jedi, when she thought of the little man and the regal woman, she didn't think of them coming from average stock, of being tanned or chapped from being out in the ocean sun and wind, of having calloused hands from working with spears or in the fields. Obviously they had to come from somewhere, but in her mind that misty, far-off, undefined somewhere had always been somewhere clean, somewhere rich if one was to be blunt.
She also thought it might be interesting to have had a family like Edan's, with a mother and father present and more than one sibling. Not that she would trade of course, she had been happy growing up and had been more than provided for, it just might be interesting to try for awhile.
Not now though, she was already trying something interesting and new after all! Away from home and going to learn to use the force. Couldn't get much more different than that.

He looked up when she laughed, eyes widening at her words. "That's just like what..."
Edan watched the sleeping Jin, and he thought about what he knew of the Jedi and Sith of the past, about what Kailey had said to him, and about his own current situation and findings from this one simple meeting. And he... had to agree with her. It was funny. Funny how some of the greatest powers were once younglings like them, who came from completely different worlds and yet whose names are known by nearly all.
It was a comforting thought, to say the least.
"Yeah, you're right," he laughed, "it is funny. But it makes you wonder, doesn't it? Just what's going to happen to us in the future?"

"Mmm, grow up, save a couple of planets, fight some people, eat some cake, be famous, die. Mostly the same as if we stayed home except for the saving planets and being famous! Unless you get the steps out of order of course. Well, you can switch them up except for the death bit, that one you want to save till last. And the cake bit can actually be done a few times." Ayanna commented with a grin and a wink.
Certainly she was being flippant, but the only things she knew about the Jedi and Sith were from the stories she had been told. Most of those had been more for entertainment than anything, Kilek had told her a few she suspected were important for the morals in them, but for the most part, she heard about the heroes, the big names, not the everyday members she could actually imagine herself becoming. It was hard to work that all out sensibly in her young head, so she joked.
"But yes.. I do wonder what it's going to really be like, the training and everything. I suspect it will be hard, but most needful things are really."
