the people that were interviewed seem to be pretty much lethargic. For the most part Castro's letter doesn't sound anything too major, just a stomach bleeding problem- it happens to older folks all the time.

That's true. Too bad all the anti-Castro mouthpieces have already gotten their torches and pitchforks. I've already had to help repel one energetic attack on Castro, Cuba, and communism in the Politics forum, and there'll no doubt be more where that came from. Why can't old people just stay healthy and save young people like us the trouble of standing up for them?

because they are old.
its the way the world works.
old people tell us what to do, and we defend what they tell us to do. then we tell younguns what to do, and they rebel against us because they are bloody disrespectful kids now, not like the ones back in my day...

but yes, dispite my distaste for castro, it is unfortunate for the deformed workers state that he is sick. if he should die, i think it might be raul who leads the counter-revolution, in a manner similar to gorby...
edit: why is this place so dead? is it a holiday time in the US or something?
or did i just scare everyone off... sweatdrop

Sorry for the random disappearance, Gracchvs. Only minutes after the news came out that Fidel was going into the hospital, I ended up going there myself. Gotta love mysterious severe allergic reactions for no apparent reason... that's pretty much eaten my life since Sunday.

And it's not like we can be on all the time anyhow. I have a job, and that takes up half of my awake time right there. You can't be self-sufficient in this world and still post a ton on Gaia. Besides that, there aren't exactly a whole lot of inspring topic to discuss at this moment.
Have you seen the ED recently?
