I just reread those last week, actually. I've read the whole series several times, and it's one of my favorites. It's creative, and I love the characters. I wish that more people knew about the series.

I read the first three and though I liked them I didn't read four and five...Wait. I read the book of three, Black Cauldron, and Taran Wanderer, I stopped at The High King, is that the last one?
Now, I'm gonna go reserve that one too. I need to finish those books.

I have read the books. They are the best.
To the one who posted before me, the book order is The Book of Three, The Black Cauldron, The Castle of Llyr, Taran Wanderer and then the High King.
It is such a wonderful, wonderful story! I love these stories so much.

I'm in the middle of the The Black Cauldron myself. I'm really enjoying them. I love Doli. x3 He makes me laugh.

I LOVE that series. Lloyd Alexander is one of my favorite writers, and I start sobbing every time I read the last book.

I've been reading & re-reading these since I was about 9 or 10. I love these books, and reccomend them to anyone who asks. heh Like the Lord of the Rings, I own multiple copies One old mangled bedraggled (often replaced) set for tossing in the pack/suitcase for entertainment on the go (like camping) One diligently protected hardbound set for years of enjoyment One early edition, for the collectors soul (for L.O.T.R. a 14th edition illustrated & signed by Tolkein ^^) often found secreted away in a used bookstore

Oh my gosh...I read those books back in 5th grade I think and just hearing all the names of the books brings it all back! I loved that series. I think one of the books was sad but I'm not quite sure why...maybe I should go find those again...

Ooooh! It's a lovely series, one of my favorites in late grade school... I really should re-read them again. Oh, if you can, read "The Foundling" too. It's by Lloyd Alexander as well and gives you more fun stories about Prydain. 3nodding Personally, I love Eilonwy and Gwydion. Alexander has just about the most entertaining girl characters of any author I know, besides maybe Gerald Morris (who, by the way, wrote a wonderful series called "The Squire's Tales" which you should read if you like the Prydain Chronicles.)

I think the series should be put up there with all the other great epics like Lord of the Rings and such. Truly great work. AND I love Gerald Morris's books! They are fun adventures and make me smile! You should also try reading Master of Earth and Fire, i'm not sure who it's by, but that book and it's sequel are worthy epics also.

This was a great work of art, at least in my tastes. I love this series and will probably go back and re-read it. It is such and amazing book. I can't really choose a favorite out of all the books in the series because I love them all xd

Oh, man... that was a great series. I especially loved the bard... WHat was his name... Adaon! That's it. It's just too bad he was only in the one book... T.T I had a picture of him on my wall for the longest time I also liked Gwydion, and Fflewdur and his harp were awesome, too. ^_^ I'd say Fflewdur was the character that really kept me reading the series. Eilonwy, however, I found insufferably annoying.
Probably my favorite book was The Black Cauldron. It just seemed to have the best storyline, even though the last book always makes me bawl to read it. I hated Taran Wanderer, though. I mean, I know that it's a coming-of-age thing, and it had to happen, et cetera, et cetera, but... it seemed like the whole book had this boring rhythmic piece to it, and the conclusion it reached was just all too predictable. (... Wouldn't it be awesome if a character from a book went off to 'find himself'... and just never came back? XD Now THAT would be unexpected...)
Geez, and I haven't read those books in years. I can't believe I remembered all that. I definitely need to reread those sometime.
