COMICBOOK SUPERHEROES GAME!

It'll be a cold day in Metropolis...

A change is coming to the World. The United Nations is even considering passing a bill to restrict the activity of the so-called Super Heroes. Nearly every civilized area is beggining to actively hunt these "Superhumans" as criminals. Many of the more famous Super Heroes you can remember have either retired or joined the ranks of the Governments that are turning against your kind. It seems that even with the relativley small number of Supers on the planet, most Military and Government organizations have decided that the tendency towards Villianism in Supers has gone out of control, and the only answer is to control or remove Super Heroes and Villians together.

In America, one of the last holdouts on the U.N.'s Anti-Supers proposals, the situation is only slightly better. The coasts have become bastions for Supers from far and wide, as they flee thier Anti-Supers homelands. The American coastal populace does not share the opinion of Supers that most other countries are taking, in fact, you could refer to the state of Coastal regions as "Supers-MANIA". Many posters and news reports even use this term when referring to the myriad Supers groups, conventions and leagues forming or arriving on the borders. Many of the interior States are not quite as fond of Supers, especially those coming from abroad. In these areas the activity of Supers is always seen as illegal activity, and the Police are much more likely to interfere than help.

You too have also recently found a reason to be on the West Coast of the U.S., in Century City, California. Whether you are just here for a photo-shoot, a vacation, or leaving your home to find a new one or escape prosecution. Century City is a vast city, and is a very active financial and mass media center on the Southern Coast of California. This area currently holds a higher population of Supers than anywhere else in recent history, and the problems of such a population are quickly becoming apparent. Still, the market for Supers is rich here, and the possibilities for Fame, or Infamy, are still richer.

------------------------------------------------

Cast:
(This is OOC info, only the character referred to knows this unless noted otherwise.
I can modify this to suit your character idea, just le me know.)

Tigram a.k.a Adam Miller - Punk Fox TH
Tigram has recently moved to Century City from a much smaller town in another area, looking to gain a name for himself so the locals will accept him. Tigram is reletively unknown.

Durandal (Sytalos) Collins - Auren Shiro
Durandel is a respected Century City Police officer who has a special method of dealing with Super Villians. Sytalos is so far an unsupported rumor. Claiming to see him is treated with the same media attention as claiming to be abducted by a U.F.O.

Bagel - Bagel san
Bagel, recently out of a bad partnership, is now on his own in Century City. His old partner has chosen the life of a Movie Star to that of a real Super Hero, and Movie Stars don't need sidekicks. Many people know and love Bagel's former partner, noone ever remembers the poor sidekick... yet.

Hardware a.k.a. Megan Jones - IlenaWhitethorn
Hardware is new to the Super Hero scene, so most people who have heard anything about her think she is an immigrant. Megan is actually a student at Century City High.

Ice Queen a.k.a Candace Reine - Alondra
The Ice Queen, also recently split from a Super Hero team, is hitting the talk-show circuit and doing some filming in the Century City area. The Ice Queen is a well-known Super Hero, Actress and Model, any kid or swimsuit issue collector could name her on sight.

Century City is my made-up location. It is basically L.A., complete with a Hollywood type area, smog, beaches and many neighboorhoods of varying dangerousness.

The sun is just setting on another day in Century City. You are all either going home after a day's work, or heading out for a night of action. Either way, you are currently traveling down Los Dedos Blvd. with the normal congestion of traffic, whether's it is cars or pedestrians, slowing your progress.

Suddenly there is a loud boom ahead as brick and dust fills the street. Apparently, the front of the 3rd/7th National Bank has just exploded, but the smoke and dust clouding the building blocks your view of what is actually going on as paniced people run in all directions and cars near the building slam into each other, blinded.

Machine gun fire erupts from the building and more panic ensues, and the police are nowhere in sight. But this is Century City, so a Super Hero will surely arrive soon, and one does. Just as you hear the gunfire, a masked-man clad in a red suit with a large W on his chest flies into the smoke, then flies back out. His exit appears to be a forced one, as he slams through the wall of the building across the street in a plume of concrete clunks, and does not reappear.

Durandal started heading in the direction of the bank, drawing the Desert Eagle... He created. Of course, the boys back at Procurement didn't know about it, and he would rather keep it that way. As for those who were robbing the bank, they did a number on whoever the hell that was.

Oh well. Probably some newbie Super. If he had REALLY known what he was doing--- Then again, he wasn't Sytalos, was he?

Megan avoided pedestrians as best as she could, peddling as hard as her legs would take her on her way home from school. She had spent an hour or so at the library to catch up on some of her more advanced studies, and had lost track of time. Now, she was going to be late for dinner, and she just knew that her mother was going to lecture her for it.

Startled by the explosion at the bank, followed by the apparent defeat of a fellow Super, she looks left and right for someplace to ditch her bike and make a quick change. Sliding into a sidestreet, she chains her bike to a fence and attaches her bookbag to it. She then opens up her second backpack, taking out her armor and headset to suit up behind a dumpster.

Once in "costume," Hardware rockets out of the alley at full speed, heading for the source of the disturbance.

The screetch of the brakes and the suddenly sound of an initiated air brake signaled that it was his stop.
Bagel Stood up and brushed the brown hair out of his eyes. He turned and retreived his dufflebag from under the aged plastic seat that had been his bed for the past few hours. He slung the obviously worn navy blue bag over his shoulder. the contents inside shifted giving an hint of the weight inside. He nodded to the driver and stepped out from the folding door of the bus.

He stepped onto the pale pavement and was hit with a wave of heat and humidity. He gave a forlorn sigh as his fond memories of the cool climates of his home back east were smothered away by the pollution filled air. The sunset tainted by the metropolitan smog only further caused his heart to miss the almost flawless sunsets he witnessed back in the eastern U.S.

"well i guess i better find a place to crash for tonight , a three hour bus ride like that really puts a strain on a person." He shifted the bag on his back slightly and reached into his coat pocket and produced what apeared to be a worn sticky note. Upon it ,written some what hastily, was an adress : Los Dedos Blvd. & Fifth.

Bagel glanced upward towards the faded green and silver street sign above his head "Fo rth S ." With another somewhat discontented sigh Bagel placed the sticky note back into his pocket and shifted his weight again. He began walking somewhat slowly in the direction he guessed Fifth Street would be. The many other pedestrians moved around him like a sea of multicolored fabrics. The various styles and colors further indicatiing the changes that were brought about by the new laws about super powered persons. Not only did many super hereos moved to the coasts but many fan bases and rebels decided they didn't want to be part of central united states either.

The prospect of the large number of superhereos in Century City only left job opportunities open for Bagel. He moved here mainly for work and freedom from the political persecution. More importantly it was to find himself. His past occupations had left him in the shadows, an unnoticed underappreciated sidekick who always got the raw deal. Now, he wanted to try to make a name for himself, but still not as a hero, he wanted to be known as either a sidekick or a team member. He felt the whole hero title was nothing more than an ego booster. He had seen enough heros let thier heads get big and lose the true meaning of what it is to be a hero.He wouldnt let himself fall into the foolish pride associated with the false fame.

Still this wasn't going to be easy, with the large number of super heros here, it would be a very competative market. Even finding a job as a lacky would be hard much less a sidekick or a league member.

Deep in thought Bagel was almsot startled out of his mind when he heard the all to familiar Boom. The machine gun fire that followed only confirmed the allready hardwired insticts in Bagel's mind. Looking ahead into the distance he saw a cloud of dust only adding to muddied skyline. The mass hysteria that ensued was also all to familiar.

Bagel began glancing around for a place to gear up when he noticed out of the corner of his eye a red clad figure. The super flew into the cloud of smoke, the floating debris billowing in his wake. Then almost as galliantly as he flew into the cloud he was thrown out of it and flung into a large office building across the street leading to more airborne debris.

Bagel continued his search for a safe place and seeing a acceptable spot..runs and dives into the inlet of a basment access to what appeared to be an apartment building . He quickly drops the dufflebag and coat from his shoulder to the brick laid ground. Unzipping the bag in a hurry he produces a pair of dark lensed glasses a face mask and a vest. Quickle he puts these on overtop the blue t-shirt and pants he was wearing. Then in an almost immposible feat he drops his pants and quickly puts on a pair of black tactical pants followed by a pair of boots. The whole process would have appeared to take only a minute. In a final gesture he produced what apears to be a harness and a pair of gloves. he slipped the glove son ina hurry then placed the harness over the tactical suit, revealing its true nature . The glint of light left in the sky reflects off of two gun hilts and the very ornately etched hilt of a sword. Leaving the bag where it lay, he jumped, or rather flipped, out of the niche he was concealed in.he landed perfectly then faced the comotion and hit the button on his glasses for telescopic vison in an attempt to better assess the situtation.

Candace Reine was having a nice day incognito, or, as incognito a blue haired albino girl could be. This morning she put on a sleeveless, dark blue and purple striped tank top, and a pair of fitting black slacks. It was a bit cold this morning to a normal person's standards, but not to Ice Queen. Ironically, Candace might not personally know what cold even was like. To better hide her identity, she pull a purple beanie over her head and wore sun glasses. Still, she was pretty recognizable without putting bronzer on her entire face to change her white complexion, and she didn't bother today.

So after going shopping in the morning at a few clothing boutiques uptown, getting some brunch, and going out in the afternoon to relax in the park, where perhaps she had recieved the most attention, mostly from children, Candace had decided to stop for gellato at a little place on Los Dedos Boulevard. They had such great gellato there. So, Candace walked dwon Los Dedos Boulevard with, of all things, a small cup of whole grain gellato. It was, unexpected, very sweet, and had a coarse texture; very unusual, and very tasty.

Unfortunetly, her day was like about to take a turn for the worse. A few blocks down the street there was an explosion at the National Bank. People were panicing, running away now, and she pushed her way through the crowd as quickly as she could, making her way toward the bank, plastic spoon still in her mouth and gellato in her left hand. "So now that I'm not with a government sanctioned team, this is vigilantism, isn't it... ?" She asked herself in her mind. "Joy. Is this really a good idea? I guess it's the right thing to do, however it goes..."

A red garbed 'hero' charged into the smoke, braving the machine gun fire, and was just as quickly knocked back out and through a wall. "Super strenght." Candace thought. "I already have an idea of what I'm dealing with, machine guns, smoke, and super strength."

As the dust and smoke begins to clear you get a glimpse into the bank. A large section of the buiding entrance is missing, along with the wall next to it. Inside there are at least four men armed with large machine guns, wearing black trenchcoats. They appear to be collecting cash in dufflebags and causing random mayhem while a much larger figure in a matching trenchcoat is tearing the great door off of the vault behind the counters, which are smashed. It looks as though there may be several bystanders and bank tellers lying on the floor. There is also brick, glass and debris scattered everywhere both inside the bank and on the street. The pedestrians are quickly clearing the area, only to turn and gawk a few blocks away as more Supers appear out of nowhere. The streets are still clogged with smashed or empty cars and traffic has completely stopped in front of the bank.

"This is a terrible idea, isn't it? Robbing a bank is illegal, but so is vigilantism; two wrongs aren't going to make a right, and I'm probably going to get turned into example that even the famous heroes of the world can be vigilantes. God damn public identity..." Candace thought to herself, ducking into an alley between two businesses and reached up into her beanie and tearing a few eye holes into it. She pulled it over her face, and reached into her back pack, a hip length purple coat she had, quickly donning it before running toward the bank again.

"Who the hell robs a bank anyway? All the money is at the mints. I hope they know that. I wonder if they're going to be disappointed." Candace continued to muse to herself while pulling out of her bag a compact mirror and out of her coat a large, heavy pistol. Noting the several other supers here, and asking herself, "Should I just leave this all to them?" She got to the edge of the bank enterance and glimpsed into the bank without coming into the doorway, and presumably line of fire, by looking with the reflection of the mirror.

The first thing she noticed were the bodies on the floor. "Great, potentially dead people I have to be careful with... four guys, maybe more, automatic weapons. Big guy... probably the one who sent the red one flying." Now she saw him tear the vault door right off of it's hinges. "Definetly the guy who sent the red one flying."

She now began scanning the ceiling for an indoor sprinkler system. "They're the national bank, they've got to have that in case of a fire, right? C'mon, where is it... ?"

Bagels expression grew bright at the sight that had slowly come into focus before him. It appeared the bank was being robbed by a gang of Neo wannabes. Four henchmen armed with automatic weapons. easy pickings were visible through the decimated doorway. Considering the smiles plastered on their stupid faces bagel figured they were quite full of themselves. Aparently the element of surprise would be useful. That is, unless all these other supers decide to do something first.

Bagel came to a conclusion quickly. He tapped the button on his glasses to return to normal vision mode. Then he reached down to a small blue button on his elaborate looking belt. Almost instantly he dissapeared.

It was almost sad that they wouldnt be able to see the grin on his face as he proceeded towards the bank. His adreniline was already pumping with the anticipation of the events that were going to take place. It had been months since he was able to participate in heroic activities such as this.

That day it was raining and the main street bank in his hometown was being robbed by another demented clown impersanating villian. He was sidekick to a hero that went by the name Captain Crush. Your typical super strenghth having, cape wearing, egotistical super hero. Bagel had done almost all of the work involved with anticipating the robbery and finding the Demnted Clowns weakness. He even delivered the attack that put the Clown down for the count. But as life tends to be , he was not rewarded. In fact, quite the opposite happened. The Captains ego had its last laugh and sent Bagel packing, literally.

But here he had a chance to do something again. It wasnt for the fame , it wasnt for the glory, it was for the rush and the sense of accomplishment from doing somehting good. So he crept towards the bank, unknown , unseen and grinning like a kid on Christmas morn')

( i guess its a stealth check body stat of 4..with any kind of bonuses for being invis level 1)

Durandal grumbled about the Supers crowding. Of course, it was meant to keep up an appearence of well, being a cop. Of course the smoke helped quite a bit actually... As they saw the cop run in....

Durandal made a rune with his hand, which enveloped him in a flash of light, leaving him in tactical body armor, with a ballistic helmet as well, and an Austrian-made assault rifle called a Steyr Aug. He immediately smashed against the wall, across from the girl in the purple trench-coat.

"Excuse me ma'am, but I do suggest you clear out." He said gruffly. Why was she hiding her identity like that. Oh what the hell. One MORE super couldn't make the situation worse... and if things got nasty, he could always summon his sword. And if things got REALLY ugly... He would have to reveal himself.

If things were that bad, he would have every right to do.

Hardware bites her lip as she sees the big guy in the bank. She wasn't so much worried about the machinegun-toting lackeys, but he could be a problem. Even with the other Supers that were showing up, he'd probably be tough to beat. Acting on impulse, she starts spouting commands into her headset's microphone.

"Access local wireless network..... 3rd/7th National Bank..... initiate file search..... keywords..... security... camera... vault....."

Her eyes dart over the list of files that appear against the lens of her headset, looking for a security camera inside the vault so she could get a better look at the big guy.

((Megan is using Computer Scanning to tap into the bank's security system. The above roll is if you need her to make a Computer roll to hack her way in. She has a Mind of 11, 6 levels of the Computer skill and a specialization in hacking.))

Candace notices that there is a standard indoor sprinkler in this building. The people on the floor inside are lying on their faces with their arms over there heads, and appear to be alive.

Hardware accesses the vault's security camera, routing it to her display. The camera she gets is watching the, now missing, vault door. In the well-lit vault you can see the huge man better, and from the front. Though he wears a large trenchcoat and hat, it is easy to see that his features appear to be chiseled from blackened rock, his massive hands and bare feet are made of the same dark substance. There is something else in that vault that seems odd, large amounts of gold bars. The dark man smiling, revealing dark and jagged teeth, walks to the back wall of the vault and begins tearing it apart. In the rain of crushed steel and rocks that follows the camera must have been destroyed.

The men in the bank hear the commotion and begin walking towards the vault, turning their backs to Bagel unknowingly.

"That fool is gonna bring this building down...", one says.
"He'll never be able to explain taking the first wall down.", another replies.

Candace threw her voice, sounding gruffer than the typically soft voiced girl she is. "Acknowledged." Ice Queen said flatly to the officer without giving him a second look.

Rooted to the ground, she stood strong and swept her arm up in arc, gun in hand, being very deliberate to never aim it at the officer, up to a fire sprinkler and fired a single shot. The silencer of her gun muffled, but certainly did not silence, the bang of her heavy pistol, and the noise overlapped with the clicking of a bullet casing ejecting into a brass catcher.

Megan crouches down behind a parked car in front of the bank. She had seen two supers about, but one appears to have vanished on her. There was still the one by the hole in the wall, though. The only other person in the line of fire was a police officer that apparently didn't know when he was in over his head. Turning to the woman, she tries to project her voice over the noise.

"Maam, the party's going around to the back of the building! They're heading through the rear wall!"

If it was going to just be herself and this one other super, then Megan needed to know more about who she was fighting, and who she was fighting with. She focuses on her headset's internal screen as she goes through a new list of commands.

"Initiate new search..... Supers Fansite Database....... Primary search.... Keywords.... rock.... super strength...... Secondary search.... Keyword.... albino...."

Her eyes scan the information as it comes in, looking for information on the rock guy inside the bank and the albino woman that's come to help stop him. To aid in identification, she rewinds the vault video loop in her headset's internal memory and isolates an image of the rock guy's face for comparison.

((Same as above, though Megan's Computer specialization won't apply.))
