You read the title correctly. My newest story is called "Pandora's Box", and based very, very loosely of the old Greek/Roman folktale. This is actually the backstory for the RP that I've been doing for over 3 years now, with some edits. I hope you all like this story as much as the PAS.

Pandora's Box
By Tindzel

In a time long ago, when kings and queens ruled over the lands, knights were used to enforce the laws, and peasant could hold no more then a small hut of twigs and leaves, there was chaos. Man would fight man in an effort to see who was stronger, people would be slain due to silly and false allegations, and weapons, although primitive, were taking too many lives. The divine one who lived in the clouds, known to mortal man as "Seraph" took notice of this. Seraph was a kind ruler who watched over the mortals, but this constant battle and war that raged on angered the divine one. He knew something had to be done.
The divine one's plan to end this senselessness was to choose a woman to bear guardians. The woman would bear ninety-nine of these guardians, who would walk among men and end their troubles. After searching for more than a year, Seraph chose a woman.
She was a young virgin, and was known on the world as "Pandora". Seraph spoke to her one night in a dream, explaining his plan, and Pandora agreed. From when she was only a child who could hardly walk on two legs, she had always wanted to bear a babe. With this agreement, she would bear many children, who would end up becoming the savior of man. That night, she was impregnated, without sexual relations, and after a period of nine months, would bear the children who would save the world.
Or, would she? Underneath the world, deep in its core was the layer of Seraph's opposite, Beelzebub. This one was a dark evil, who cared for no one but himself. Followers of Beelzebub heard folklore of a virgin woman who would birth saviors. This, however, did not worry the dark evil. He knew why Seraph had chosen a virgin.
Virgins were pure. The reason mortal man were vessels for both good and evil was because the woman who birthed them had not been virgins. They had been 'spoiled', so to speak. He had a plan, and this plan would work without a hitch, if the woman could feel the emotion called 'love'
Beelzebub made a human incarnation of himself called 'Lucifer', but when he made the human, he made him incredibly weak and tender, placing him near Pandora's residence. Feeling bad for the man, she nursed him back to health, and after time, they grew closer together. They began spending time together at every winking moment, and this did not worry Seraph. (He knew not that it was indeed an incarnation of the Dark Lord.) It was one miraculous night in the 7th month, in a whirlwind of pleasure that he took her, and planted his seed inside of her. Pandora had not known that night would not only taint the guardians, but threaten the whole world.
The next day, Lucifer told her that he had to leave her, but he would return once she bore the children. This worried her. Had his seed damaged the deal with Seraph? She assumed not. Her stomach had not grown in any of the 7 months, unlike most impregnated women, and she assumed that now she would bear the guardians, and a child of her own. That could not have been farther from the truth.
The 9th month had finally come. Pandora was guaranteed the birth would be a painless process, and end up with beautiful baby boys and girls. However, the pain she endured that night was none mortal had ever suffered before. As if to more stress, each child, boy and girl, cried deafeningly loud. By the time the final one had come out, she could hardly keep from screaming herself. And it was as the last child exited her womb that Lucifer burst through the door, revealing himself as the incarnation of Beelzebub.
Seraph had watch her birth from high above, confused as to why the children were acting so demonically. This revealed to him as well as the woman that they had been duped, and the plan to save the world had ultimately failed. But, the divine one still took action. Using all the power he could muster, he contained the incarnation as well as all ninety-nine children inside a magical box he created. Angry that his plan had failed, he punished Pandora by sentencing her to purgatory, where she would forever drift alone in a vast void of nothingness. Lastly, in order to make sure that the box of demons was never to be opened, the box was buried inside a cavern on a mountain.
Inside the magic box, the demons began to grow, taking their true form. Some sprouted the wings of a bat. Some grew horns and their hands and feet changed into hooves like that of a horse. Some tongues forked like a cobra, and their eyes turned the color of blood. But, even though they grew strong, nothing could open their tiny chamber.

It was one day hundreds of years later that a man of religion named Spire Sablion was ascending a mountain that had been deemed "Mt. Corona". A wild blizzard began to head towards him, and desperately searching for shelter, he took temporary residence in a small cavern. However, the cavern did not provide very much warmth. Quickly thinking, he began to dig into the loose soil on the cavern floor. His plan was to use the dirt as a sheet to keep him warm until the storm passed, but while digging, he came across an odd box.
It was a strange vessel, as it was like no wooden crate he had ever seen. This box was made of crystal, and lined with gold. The lid to the box was attached to crystal hinges, and there was a knob made of the strangest jewel he had ever seen. From different angles, it appeared to be different colors. His curiosity and interest getting the better of him, he gently cracked it open.
That was all it needed, for as the latches slightly budged, the demons on the inside pushed up, releasing themselves from their tiny prison. Ignoring the man who saved them, they flew away, ran away, wiggled away...whatever mode of transportation they used, they took. Without knowing it, this poor man had unleashed the horror of demons onto the world.
But, as I had said, Spire Sablion was a man of religion. He served Seraph, doing what he believed was his bidding. He would gather mobs and burn down the residences of witches and Beelzebub worshipers, or those whom he thought to follow the 'evil' path. As repentance, he vowed to find all of the demons he had released, and slay them all.

The last demon to exit Pandora's womb had called himself 'Krostic'. This demon had a very strange and noticeable difference from all of the other demons. Patches of flesh were missing. His entire jaw was no more then bone, patches of skin on his arms were missing, and if you looked at his shirtless, there was a 'hole' in his stomach that was incredibly sensitive. (As the front of the stomach has no bones, there was a hole that led straight into his vitals. Demon or not, a shot to your organs as one would imagine is pretty painful.)
The other difference between Krostic and the other demons is that, if Beelzebub's incarnation and Pandora had mated, and she had not been with Seraph's children, he would've been their lovechild. In this sense, he was the true demon spawn, and possessed powers far greater than his brethren. However, he was also the spawn of the human Pandora, which in turn made him 'weaker' than his brethren. Completely unlike his siblings, who were all basically 'fallen angels'.
After being freed accidentally by Spire, Krostic trained himself. He made use of the elements of nature to make him strong. He knew his heritage, the child of Beelzebub, and damned if he was to let that title fade to obscurity. But, part human, he felt compassion for the innocent, and therefore did not go around and senselessly murder, like his siblings. A killing machine with a conscience, he was.
It was one fateful afternoon while traveling through a town called Osai that he would meet his partner in crime. He was calmly walking through the village, trying to not to bring attention to himself, until screams were heard from one home. Dashing to see the trouble, Krostic saw that man, the man who freed him on the mountain, standing over the bodies of a woman and one of his brothers, holding a blood-drenched dagger! Spire was ignoring the corpses, and rather looking at a young boy who sat in a corner, afraid and shivering. Feeling a sense of justice overcome him, Krostic rushed into action, slaying the man from behind with a strong punch through the back
The child, whose name was Jin, was eternally grateful to the demon hero, Krostic. He had saved his life, and wished to accompany him as an apprentice warrior. The young boy knew not his demonic heritage. (Nor his angelic heritage, for you see, the woman whom Krostic's brother mated with was actually an angel in disguise!) The boy Jin followed Krostic around, and Krostic felt an obligation deep inside of him somewhere to watch this boy. He was, after all, his nephew.
The time is now 1,643 years from the gritty beginnings of this tale, and Krostic and Jin, now both fully matured, work as bounty hunters. In this sense, Krostic can kill what he wants, without harming the innocent, and Jin can work to become strong. However, this fateful day was one that would begin another story. Their story.

That story prolouge rocks. And I can tell it was RP based, it's got that vibe but err I'm one who can tell that. ^_^ I wish I could write my RPs into stories, I have a feeling you'd like them.

The story also has a vauge feeling of watching Xena and Hercules series. xp
