[Just sort of started an RP <3 anyone is welcome to plop in.]
She knew something was up seconds before the branches in the tree started to sway. Her body suddenly became locked, as her muscles tensed and her wide yellow eyes widened. She could feel the danger in her bones and her feathers, and nervously, the bird shivered and began to pace. Unnatural. A danger- snake? Her head cocked, but from her angle only the green swaying of leaves could be seen. Compulsively her foot stretched backward to grasp at one of her eggs; as if in reminder of it’s existence, and she hobbled back towards them.
Still no sign of the danger. She could see it better if she moved to the branch just ahead, but nature commanded her to stay with her precious young. Sheepishly she glanced briefly beneath herself, remembering the number- four of them. Four-
A sudden flash of red caught her eye as a long blocky paw swept upwards from the bushes, and landed smartly upon her branch. The claws extended in startlingly clarity to the earthy brown, and before the leopard pulled himself up her way, she had taken to the air. Survival had a habit of winning over love in the savannah. And yet, what would have been a sad chapter of the birds life seemed mostly mediocre to the leopards. With an amused smirk he lifted himself fully on the branch, ignoring the shouting bird in his ears. “Aye, aye- such yelling! You’ll lay others.” He cooed, and defiantly plopped a round white shell into his mouth. He balanced it awkwardly on his tongue as he fixed it’s direction, before a crunch sent eggshell and all down his throat.
It was sticky and scratchy, but there was a kind of pleasure to it which brought a wry grin to his face. He lived for such simple things.

The sound of the bird was the first thing that woke the leopard up, and as his soft pink eyes snapped open, Amri was forced to perk and scout the lands. It became clear within seconds that the bird was squabbling over eggs, and as he moved away from the base of the tree and towards the edge of the brance, he saw why. The red leopard was an eyesoar in the canopy, even worse than his own gray pelt, and Amri was forced to flatten his ears at the noises he made.
More life sprung alive within moments, and the cat grew more anxious by the second until he shook his head and jumped down from his perch. He had to leave, he had to get away before too much happened. Forgetting the red one for now, he instead searched around for a path untaken, one that would get him away.

Jaden swallowed the lump of sloppy egg, oblivious to the wild sounds of the birds wings and shrieking. It was an unnecessary hunt, and he knew it- but somewhere along the line he had developed a rather encouraging taste for the eggs. Maybe it wasn’t so much the taste as it was the crunch, and the soft liquid that followed. In the hot savannah, liquids were a delicacy- and he simply had applied it to his diet. Besides, he had heard it was good for the coat-
A sudden flash of grey distracted the obnoxiously bright leopard from his enjoyment, and he flicked a dark blue eye in the direction of the streak. Apparently he was not as alone as he’d thought, although he made a click of disappointment with his tongue when he deduced the other leopard to be male. Unfortunate, but not displeasing. Picking one last egg into his mouth and scampering down the tree in a clumsy heep. He was rather large for a leopard, and as if his red coat had not made him silly looking enough, the stumbling of his wide paws certainly did. “Hey, wait there friend-“ He called, his mouth still half clenched from the egg. He hated eating on the run, and haphazardly, he dropped it on the earth with a wary eye for any other predators who might take up the opportunity to snatch it away. [In fact, the moment he turned his head, a small rodent made quick work of the egg; much to Jaden's later dissatisfaction.] Picking up the pace, he stalked behind the other male, curling his tail upwards in a peculiar gesture of jovial nature. “Didn’t mean to go chasing you out of your tree there,” he spoke pleasantly.

Being average sized himself, he warily noted the size advantage the other had, but simply ignored it for the time being until he could get away and forget it. But instead, his ears perked at the calling of the other, and he cringed while his back was still turned. Now was not the best time for a friend, and Amri always refused his friends in the first palce, so he just moved on and ignored.
Padding along and away, he stopped as the red one spoke up again, looking questioningly to the sky before spining around with a solid expression. There was no welcome, and yet no hate, just questioning as to why the other was bothering him so. Possibly Amri wasn't being too standoffish, and the hint of wanting his privacy not surrounding his being as he wished.
"With that racket, I am surprised you took into consideration of those around you," His light pink eyes widened as he realized what he said, and suddenly looked to the side. It almost was if Mafujo was speaking out for him, and that fact scared him alone. Usually, he had control of his body, and when he was unconcious was when the other came out. Not while he was still thinking and breathing.
Excusing himself suddenly, he turned and continued his prowl, dismissing Jaden without a second though and just mumbling under his breath in a self argument.

If Jaden took anything into public consideration, it was not the boundaries of others. Ironic that it was a trait his ‘uncle’ had recently become aware of himself- but obliviously, Jaden strolled forward despite the other’s lack of words. The other leopard must have gotten somewhat annoyed- or maybe, only just noticed him, for he suddenly turned and spoke.
He had a flat, almost emotionless face- but Jaden noted the bright pink eyes. That was something you didn’t see every day! With a low purr he twisted the end of his tail, vacantly not listening to whatever the other was saying. Ladies must have loved the eyes. Not that he didn’t like his own eyes- no, he’d always been complimented on his startling blues. But pink- that was nice too. It was almost more unusual. Jaden probably would have mentioned it, had he not suddenly realized he was being ridiculed. A peculiar expression passed over the leopard’s face as he considered it, almost like he was reviewing what had been said out of forgetfulness. During that moment he looked serious, even mad- but it fell away about as quickly as he shoved the scolding aside. “Ah! But, so it was.” He purred, and strolled behind the other. “Either way, I am sorry friend. No need to look all dodgy like, eh?” He noted the other was having an odd tick of his head...almost like he was jerking around to see someone who wasn’t there. He was mumbling. All obvious signs that the other probably wished to be left alone. But obliviously the male trotted behind him, a rather dubious grin across his face.

Upon seeing the other staring into his eyes, Amri was taken aback and faltered slightly, though still he pushed on. When he finally turned, his tipped ears flickered at the sound of the other, and moreso at the sound of paws moving to putter on the ground. It was at the moment that the other said friend that Amri paused once more, before looking over his shoulder with sceptical pink eyes.
"Excuse me...I'm not your friend, you don't even know my name, and I have yet to know yours, so there are no bounds in which we can be considered friends." Nodding once, he said it polietly, and yet the tone and voice was rushed, as if the idea caused him to go into a sort of meltdown and physical lock up.
"Now, if you will excuse me, not all of us were fortunate enough to wake up to a nest of eggs." Turning back, he stopped off and moved at a slightly quicker pace, trying to get away before the other really considered him a friend.

Jaden cocked his head to the side, and listened reflexively to the scolding. He had the look of one who was, even the moment of it’s conception, forgetting what was being said- or at least, so disillusioned in himself that he didn’t let it even scratch the surface of his being. With a low purr the red leopard picked up his pace, crossing in front of the other male, turning, and walking backwards so that the other could keep his stalwart path, and he could talk.
Unfortunately for Jaden- he wasn’t quite as smooth as he thought himself to be, and he stumbled occasionally as he did.
“Ah! I’m sorry, I have terrible manners you know. My name is Jaden.” The red creature spoke, allowing his name to roll deliberately off his mouth in a dramatic fashion. “No need to be so cross, I mean no harm. Are you saying you don’t want to be my friend?”
He feigned sorrow and shook his head, before puffing his whiskers out and correcting his stance to walk beside the male.
“Don’t be so bitter now, I’m just saying what I’m saying. No need for you to even consider me a stranger, let alone friend. Although- if I’m not a stranger, I find I’d much rather be a friend, eh? You are a stranger to me- but luckily for you, that doesn’t bother me.”
It always interested Jaden when the simple word 'friend' drove others crazy. At least this one wasn't female. He had decidably more creepily affectionate terms for them.
"But as one stranger to another, friend; if you are hungry, I'd be happy to help. I don't look it, but I'm quite the mediocre hunter." He found this amusing, and purred in pleasent assurance of his own good humor.

As Jaden walked backwards, Amri contained his entertainment fro the actions, just resulting in a rare smile when the other stumbled. However, he nodded when the red one finally got to walking at his side, and listened to actually try. Besides, Amri concluded, there was no reason for him to worry, he probably wouldn't see Jaden again once they parted.
"Amri," He said slowly, before adding, "I don't do well with friends." Seepishly grinning at that, he hoped that it would be accepted before anything else happened or anything went too far.
"I guess what you say makes sense, but how about I just consider you...what was the word...acquaintance?" Pausing in his steps as soon as the offer was made, he blinked with his vibrant eyes before pondering a moment.
"If you are willing, than I don't mind the help, sometimes it is hard to find a good meal when all the animals avoid me..." Nodding, he finally turned and looked around for a good area, his nose sniffing lightly as his ears perked. Trying to catch a good scent he finally let out a light sigh and turned his eyes back from their search.
"Come on, I don't think there are many others around here that are good enough for a meal..." It was that and Amri just didn't want to kill, but he was always like that.

“Well, you may consider me whatever you’d like.” Jaden purred with a chuckle. He was an aloof creature- and although the other leopard might have feared the red brute becoming perhaps too attached to his figure- Jaden’s affections really were about as giving as a puff of wind. He moved anywhere and everywhere his feet and stomach managed him, and his flippancy and idle mindedness was almost legendary.
“Ah-“ The leopard remarked, with the slight sway of his arm and curl of his tail as he stopped. “-yes, they do do that, don’t they? Well, the truth is, I wouldn’t eat a thing that wasn’t afraid of me. The more afraid they are, the better the food is. Of course, they’re also stronger but- better to eat the right food then some rancid creature.” With that said- Jaden probably would have eaten the rancid one should it have appeared in front of him anyways. But he did have idealistic tastes- among other things.
“The best thing to eat, you know- is snake.” He remarked finally, with a light purr. “Big snake, not the little itty ones. Not the ones with fangs either. Turtles too, but I’d be damned if I could get at their shell. My uncle did it once, and he nearly broke a tooth, but lions are prone to biting more then they can chew.”
As he strolled- a gurgle in the pit of his stomach pulsed, and he glanced down at it as though to question where it had come from. "Ah, but. I'm a starving boy! You look like a hungry sir, eh?" The red leopard purred. "Not to worry, not to worry. I think a snake will do us fine." Without giving the other leopard a chance to respond, he hopped onto a rock and began to work his claws into it.
All the while- Jaden was mostly unaware of the other male's attempts at avoiding him. "Let me get some of that," He spoke and set himself to the road. "You! Don't wander off now."
And with that- the red creature was gone.
