Kids meaning say, 12 or 13 and younger. I saw a 9 or 10 year old in the mall the other day, and had to do a double-take because she looked so young but she was wearing eye liner and some other make-up.
So, discussion: when is it ok to start wearing make-up? How much is too much? Moderation, or none at all? Other options to wearing make-up. Etc etc. Whatever you can think of to discuss. 3nodding

Lissa has all kinds of barbie make up and nail polish and Disney's princess makeup and a SLEW of lipglosses she keeps in her princess purse. Most of it is colorless though. It's got like scent and flavor and glitter but doesn't go on as a color.
But she doesn't get all made up and go out. It's all play and fun at home.
I don't think little girls 16 and under should be wearing makeup that is HIGHLY visible. A little shiny lipgloss some sheer pink eyemakeup, some cute sparkly stickers or glittery body gel stuff, not a big deal in my mind.

And for kids I don't see the harm in clear lip gloss or sparkly things. That's not as sexual to me as something like, lipstick with eyeliner and eyeshadow and all that stuff.

I am iffy about this. When I was about 11, other children would pick on me until I cried about a scar that I have around my nose. So, my mother taught me how to put make up on it and make it look as normal as possible. I'm so good at it now, that you cannot even tell I have a scar there. (It's also flattened it a is a little lighter.)
I also started wearing light shades of eyeshadow and mascara when I was 13. My mom had me take a class with her that teaches you how to wear make-up so that it's not caked on or looks like you are made of clay.
I really think it's up to the indiviudal parents and the maturity of the girl.

ah, the good ol' debate of prostitots. I really don't like makeup on any female all the time, and the thing that worries me most is that so many girls my age (I'm 16) can't go out the door and feel comfortable without any type of makeup. Makeup in my opinion, should enhance your features, not be your features 3nodding I do agree about the sparkles and such that it's okay but makeup is about looking attrative, which is sexual and little girls should not be sexual, at least I don't think so... we have the rest of our adult lives to be that way.

I don't think there is any harm in a little bit of blush or lipgloss at a young age. But I don't think a young girl should be caked in make up, not only does it give off the wrong idea, it is bad for her skin. Personally I've never been a big fan of make up and never wear anything more than mascara. I'm 16.

My mom sold mary kay when I was a kid so it was hard to keep me from getting exposed to grown up makeup so my mom got me my own makeup kit with special stuff she picked. I really mild face mask so I could be like her and sheer pink eyshadow and really light pink lipstick almost the same shade as my lips and light blush. It made me feel special to be like my mommy but my mom tried to keep it simple and mute. It rubbed off I wear makeup every so often on special occasions and when I go out shopping and stuff but not that often. When I have a girl I will do the same thing with her.

Girls younger than than can use lip gloss of something like that but anything more is tacky and not needed. No 11 year old needs a full face of makeup. That's the problem with these kids now, they try to be grown up too fast. Little girls wearing makeup look like childs whore's and shouldn't do it.

I think highschool is good. I'm not saything they should start right then, but if they want to they could. I started in highschool wearing it everyday (pretty much.) I didn't wear that much. I did wear make up a little before that, everyonce in a while.
I don't think that they need make up younger than 14. They don't have pimples, and make up would just encourage outbreaks.
I'm 16 now, I wear make up everyday, I don't wear much; eyeliner, eyeshadow, and cover up.

A while a go, I saw this lady with her 4 year old kid (she would've been around 3 to 5 years). Well the mother was wearing a halterneck, a mini and knee high boots with her hair up high. And for the daughter... EXACTLY THE SAME CLOTHING!!!!!!
I know that's not about makeup, but the kid was too young to be wearing clothing like that.
Now the makeup, if the kid is wearing it to an event, it's ok. But for everyday wear... Why can't kids just be kids??
Like they're getting bf/gf when they're 8 years old now-a-days!! (Well I was 6 for my first boyfriend, 12 for the next, but I thought going out was a good friendship back then - we did hold hands but nothing more. But I wasn't interested in guys till I was 17)

I think when kids feel the need to start wearing makeup, they should do so.
