Mtafutaj'duhushi chuckled as he walked. The limp in his paw was nearly gone even though pain still shot through it at times. The bounce in his step had returned which meant constantly having to blow his 'mane' from his eyes. The Mistweaver lands weren't somewhere that he would normally go to but the juvenile was on a mission. It was quite an important and perhaps even fruitful task.

Larger paws padded away from the bones and death of the graveyard. It was nice to finally leave the confides of his father's hold for a little while. Besides, he was visiting a friend.

Nyunya.

He remembered the salmon headed lioness quite well and he nearly craved to see her again. He couldn't quite understand why especially since he had to sneak away from Amleth to do it. Somewhere inside him he felt a bit of guilt for leaving his angel alone for the night but with the light of the moon was the only time when he could.

Suddenly the bleakness gave way to lush vegetation. He grinned as he made his way through to find her.

Tonight, the looking part of Duhu's search would prove fruitful, at least. This night was one of the few in which Nyunya wandered by night. Fate, perhaps? Probably not, but the little femme didn't care either way, now that she'd spotted her friend.

The petite lioness had been rather awkwardly walking along some lower branches of tree, training and getting fit, as was her current hobby, since she'd explored everything here, when her sharp crimsom eyes had spotted her purple figurer moving through the foliage.

With a soft laugh, she propels herself from her height, landing daintily and delicately on her paws - a vast improvement from the clumsiness of a cub. She straightened, flicking salmon fur out of her eyes with a little toss of her head. She was certainly starting to come into the beauty she would get when she was older, although her height had not improved much. She was still much smaller than Duhu, and therefore had to look up at him.

"Mtafutaj'duhushi," she says, choosing to say his full name, likely to prove she remembered it. "What brings you here?"

Duhushi was having a suprisingly easy time through the lands. He was used to sudden twists and turns because of the bone that he had grown up in. His only problem was the expanse of mane that he seemed to have. His striped mane began to catch on twigs and branches in his search. THe male growled and furiously ran a paw through his fur, sucessfully dislodging the debris from his mane. His longer limbs brought him easily over the things that decided to lay on the ground.

At the sound of a voice, a distinctly feminine voice, speak his name a grin came to his maw. She had actually remembered his name after all that time. It was an incredible feat considering that he barely remembered his own name past, save duhushi, at times. With one toss of his head the striped tuft fell back into it's place above his eye. His new height found him starring down at the salmon lioness.

"It's been too long Ny."

She laughed again, sitting down and flicking her tail around her front paws, a familiar gesture for any who know her. Her salmon head tilts, slanting fur across her left vermilion eye, which, for once, she doesn't bother to blow out of her line of sight.

"Oh, I agree. Amleth isn't here, is she?" she asks, unsure whether she wanted the darker coloured femme to be or not. And for reasons she didn't want to examine, not with him sitting right in front of her. Sometimes when her mind wandered and she thought of him, she found herself blushing. Not often, but enough to make her a little worried and somewhat annoyed about it. She really didn't need him seeing it. "I can't see her."

Duhushi chuckled softly and shifted weight on his paws. He took the chance to blow at the white fur that had fallen over one green eye. His tail swished against his ankels. It was a nervous habit, his tail moving about.

"No. I came here alone." A soft smile split his maw as he strode closer to her. In the moonlight it was easy since the lioness seemed to glow. "Amleth, if you remembe, was rather unapproving of our meeting." When he got close enough he finally fell back on his haunches. He remembered the last time they met and how Amleth had been so angry after his advances at Ny before. He hadn't planned to come back to the pink lioness but he felt in some way that he had to see her again. Duhushi smiled again and used his striped paw to wipe the fur from her eyes.

"I wanted to see you again...alone."

She watched him quietly with a smile lingering on her maw as he came near her, shifting a little where she sat, unsure whether she wanted to move closer or further away, a little mixed up in her head. Stubbornly, she remained where she was, settling herself.

"I remember, all right," she murmured, laughing for the third time. He hadn't even said anything particularly funny yet. Why was she laughing? "I remember she bit your tail for attention." This time, the fourth time, she laughed at memory, exactly as she had done then.

"You wanted to see me, though? Really?" She slanted her gaze at him, from where she'd flicked it to his tail before. "And you came in the middle of the night to do it?" she asked, recovering from the bit of hopefulness in her voice that she would rather have not been there. "What if I had been asleep? Could you have found my den, Duhu?"

Duhushi cocked a brow as he watched her. It seemed odd to see the female in discomfort. His tail flicked and his paw fell back to his side. The pink female seemed a bit off but it wasn't really his buisness to ask.

"Settled?" For him a chuckle was a bit of relief. He didn't laugh much at home anymore even with Amleth around so he cherished it. Besides, he couldn't help himself considering that Ny was almost a comic relief in her actions alone. Amleth would never have let him so close to her. "I'm glad that you remember. It should be enough explaination as to why I came alone."

A smile widened as it tried a hide a grin. "Of course I wanted to see you. Why wouldn't I?" He leant closer to the smaller lioness. "I would have serched for you since you still owe me that tour."

"Why would I leave the beauty of the waterfalls to only you Mistweavers?" The double meaning of his words hung around him like fog. Ny was absolutely gorgeous in his eyes. Though she would never compare to his Amleth, Nyunya was still in his thoughts.

She may have let him close to her, but not quite that close. As he leaned forward, she leaned back, arching a brow. She let him keep the same closeness as before, but allowed him to gain no more. He might be quite cute and, she thought, somewhat sweet - to her, at least - she wasn't about to let him overstep his bounds. No, no. Not yet, if ever.

"You want the tour? Now? Duhushi, it's late. Shouldn't you be asleep in your den right now, instead of travelling to another pride's territory to explore?" The same could be said of her, in a way, but at least it was just a few minutes' walk from here to her den. He had to travel all the way back to his graveyard home.

"There's not much tolerance of strrangers, recently," she adds quietly, frowning a bit. "Perhaps a nighttime visit is best. So long as you leave by dawn, it should be fine. No one will ever know."

Duhushi laughed loudly when she backed away. She was smarter than he thought. "What? Afraid I'll bite?" He flashed his fangsin a grin before leaning back. One day he would get his way and be able to get closer to her but now wasn't the time.

"No. It is much too late for a tour." Another genuine smile came to him. "This is purely to get to know you better Ny. Last time I learned onyl your name but I wish to know more than that." He shooked his head and let his mane fall in his face. "I have dens all over the place. The graveyard has so many crevices and holes that my family normally doesn't sleep in the same place. I think we have a den somewhere but thats added to the fact that i sleep with Amleth at night since no one knows about her yet."

His brow furrowed and his eyes grew dark. "Strangers aren't welcome these days anywhere anymore. In the dead of night is the best time for...meetings." Duhushi chuckled and bowed his head. "But if you are sure that i can stay then I will surely be gone by dawn."

"No," she says, with her characteristic quick tongue. "I'm afraid I'll end up biting you." She softens it with a smile, though, settling back into her original position. If he thought he was getting past her barriers any time soon, he was mistaken.

"I see. You want to get to know me," she said thoughtfully, clicking her claws against a rock. "What do you want to know, Duhu?" Just because she seemed agreeable, however, didn't mean she was going to tell him everything, or even a lot. A bit of mystery never hurt anyone, after all.

She doesn't answer the last thing he said, having spoken of and thught about it far too often. It seemed this Nyekundu character was a major source of concern in these lands, especially with her mothers.

Duhushi grinned widely and scratched at his ear with a paw. "I'd love to see you actually bite me." His mother's judgement seemed off today. He wasn't making very wise decisions. Before his mind could stop him he sharpened his claw against a rock to mimic her actions.

"Well. I know nothing of your family or your pride like you know little of mine." Somehow he sensed her stuborness. If he made it into a game then they would certainly know enough about eachother by dawn. Duhushi rose to his paws and hopped to the top of the small rock. "We take turns asking eachother questions. Simple enough to follow." His tail flicked again.

"We answer our own questions as well so we don't ask questions that we don't want to answer. Does that sound alright to you Ny?"
PostPosted: Sat Jul 29, 2006 12:59 pm

This little game of his didn't sound all that bad, really. And it would pass the time well enough, she supposed. And getting to know him wouldn't be a bad thing. Him getting to know her might, but she'd deal with that later.

"All right." She nods. "Since you thought up the game, Duhu, I'll consent to you going first."

Rolling her shoulders, she waits with a slightly raised eyebrow for his first question.

Duhushi slipped from the rock and slowly dropped to his stomach. Finally there was something for him to do. His forelegs stretched out as he contemplated.

"Very well then." His tail swished behind him as he thought of a question.

"Alright. How many brothers and sisters do you have besides that strange one that I met last time?" He didn't remember if he had asked that question but he wanted to know just the same.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 31, 2006 4:41 am

She paused a moment, thinking it through, wondering just how much she should say. How much she could say. Trust Duhu to think of one of the harder questions for her to answer.

"That's a tough questin, though I know it doesn't seem so. I have two mothers, you see, and I am the only cub my birth mother, Denge, has. My other mother, Ithibati, has three, Asherah, Dharba, and Fedha, whom you met. He and I still don't get on," she adds, with a wry smile. "And then there's Zimwi. My mother - Denge, I mean - took him in while she was carrying me, and looked after him until he was old enough to do so for himself. He's much older than I, though not much bigger," she says with a chuckle.

But then the laughter dies, and she frowns just a tad. "Then there's my father. I don't know who he is, but it's possible he has cubs I know nothing about. But it's just as possible he's dead, died and gone before he could have more cubs to walk away from." She's surprised at the bitterness in her voice. She'd been thinking a lot about this absent male lately, as any fatherless cub will sometimes do, and asking one simple question, one for which she may never get an answer, and knew it: why? She'd been almost obsessing on that one word, so much so that it had become a rather touchy subject for her.

But pulling herself out of it, she refocuses her eyes on him. "But what about you? What's your answer to that question?"

[They have quite a bit in common. XD One of the donators to have their DNA tend to go for lions of the same, uh... type. XD

Duhushi smiled as she spoke. He loved the sound of the lionesses voice.

At the explaination of her family he frowned. It didn;t seem so unlike his own. His father had never loved his mother and though he knew who his father, it was almost as if he was never there. "Two Mothers?..." It didn't seem too foreign to him. Knowing of his father's own persuasion he felt a genuine smile cross his face. "You seem to have a very colorful family..." The sentence slipped from his tongue before he could stop it. "...in collection I mean. You seem to have a very together family." The purple prince inwardly sighed as he tried to answer his own question.

"I have two birth sisters. Dhamisa and Kitengele. They have both dispersed from our pride so now I am the only one among the bones." It was odd how much they seemed to have in common as he continued. "I happen to have two fathers. My true father, Kikausha, has a life partner who wanders about the pridelands. My mother, Tuzwa, has left to retrieve my sisters and I fear that she will never come back." His expression darkened at the mention of his mother but he quickly brightened up.

"Well, it's your turn my dear."

((It's funny how much they have in common xd ))
