What the heck is jing, ki, and Tan-Tien? I went to another site on kinetics ((If you went to the site QUE-MAGE has in the kinetics forum, you'll know what I'm talking about.)) and it was talking about all the stuff. Wtf is it?

Something I can honestly say I believe not in. That's martial arts or Dragonball Z or japanese cartoon science to me.

I think they are just different types of energy, but i also think it is generally unimportant to really know the difference, unless you want to get into anything really advanced, then it might be useful....

But i really am not sure, because i am not into the advanced stuff...

I know that Ki references energy. It might just mean energy in general...At least..I'm pretty sure that Ki simply means energy. Much like how Ch'i or Chi simply means energy.

..Well..To my knowlege anyway. sweatdrop

I've always heard ki/chi used interchangebly for the energy that flows through our chakras and throughout the energy body. I think it is different cultural names for the same idea...but that doesn't mean subtle differences don't exist and I don't know about it.

Ki and chi are essentially two words for the same thing. The only time I've ever seen "jing" to describe something like that it was used as "fa jing" and that was essentially the same as ki or chi.

From my martial arts experience, the tan-tien is the area below the navel. There are special breathing techniques involving the tan-tien that help to increase the chi/ki flow. It seems very similar to a chakra to me so it may just be a different name for the major chakra that is in that part of the body.

Hope this helped.

Ya know, I think I'm just gonna stick with psionic energy. This chi and tan-tien and stuff seems a lot harder...

ki=psi
Dan Tien=the thing ki is stored in

chi=chinese
ki=japanese
qi=wtf
