The Yagabon System has two settlable planets, the third and the fifth. During the final wave of Confederate colonization, both worlds were settled. Yagabon III was industrialized while Yagabon V became an agricultural center. After the cession of the throne to Ellinore Veila, Yagabon settled planets and orbital colonies began to have civil unrest. After Admiral Veila's flight from the Empire, the Yagabon system began sheltering rebels and rebelled themselves.
During the civil war, the Yagabon System came under attack from the Confederate Imperial navy. Thankfully for them, the Restoration Alliance Armada came to their rescue and defeat the attacking Confederates. Yagabon III and V both pledged into the Federation.

Elements of the Confederate "Imperial" fleet drop out of lightspeed at Yagabon Prime, the sun and split, heading for Yagabon II and Yagabon V. Once in position they begin to bombard the planetary shields. The weak shields wouldn't hold out for long under the heavy bombardment.

The people of Yagabon II, the inustrialized world, begin to panic. They begin to head to underground shelters, though with a population of several billion, it wouldn't be easy. From the Governor's palace, they sent out a distress signal o anyone, hoping to recieve a response.

The fleet continued its bombardment of Yagabon II and V. The shields of Yagabon II began to falter.

Yagabon system, two light-minutes "above" system ecliptic
As before, between one instant and the next, the SolFed taskforce appeared, instantly in regards to when it left the Border. Less than ten seconds later, the escorts were deployed, corvettes and stealth frigates engaging their systems, and the force cruised along at thirty-five percent the speed of light, which would take them several minutes to arrive at Yagabon V. A transmission was sent to the Confederate forces from the SFNV Meteor.
"This it the Solarian Federation Naval Vessel Meteor of Task Force Forty-Two. Cease fire and stand down immediately. Any hostile actions will be met with deadly force. You have one hundred eighty seconds to comply. Repeat, one-eight-zero seconds to cease fire."
Throughout the group, Marines were ready for boarding action, and the fighters waited in their launch cradles, missiles loaded with anti-ship warheads. The capital ships and escorts, as per SolFed doctrine, were already at full combat readyness, weapons and sheilds blending in with the rest of the ships' powergrid.

The RAA Alexander reverted to realspace. It powered up shields and went to battlestations.

The Confederate vessel raised their shields to max and turned their weapons on the Solarian Federation vessels. They answered the hail, simply to amuse themselves. "This is Admiral Key'yla of the Confederate vessel Mammoth. You are challenging the soveign right of the Confederacy. You will pay." The ships open fire on the SolFed vessels.

One light-minute from Yagabon V
At the same time that the Task Force recieved the transmission, they opened fire with particle, positron, neutron, and neural cannons, as well as a massed salvo of missiles, loaded for antiship, ie 780mt warheads, focusing on the closest and largest ships first, simoultaniously beginning evasive maneuvers, going to full sublight, forty-five percent C, and engaging heavy EM-spectrum jamming. They would hold fire with their mass drivers until they get closer to their targets.

Captian Draal turned to the communications Ensign quickly. "Ensign, jam the transmission, quick!" "Yes sir!" He moved to jam transmissions before they had the chance to send out a message. The Alexander opened fire on the nearest vessel with her bow cannons.

Thankfully, the shields were already raised. Energy, plasma and positron shields, with particule shields layered underneath. Most of the energy weapons would be absorbed by the shields. The missiles were another thing. Fighters moved to intercept the ones that weren't caught by the anti-missile defenses. However, some slipped through which impacted on the shields.

However, the SolFed energy weapons could continue to fire non-stop, all standard E-day, with no ill effects, thus, most likely, longer than the sheilds could hold out. As for the missiles, their own sheilds would increase their chances of impact, and with more than five thousand missiles, incoming at eighty percent the speed of light, each armed with a seven-eighty megaton antimatter warhead...

18 seconds after first SolFed ships opened fire the combined Ilythian-UPDF fleet dropped back into normal space. The Voidhawks were first, they Jumped in into a perfect defensive formation 3 seconds between the first and the last appearance. They released a salvo of Combat Wasps each then each of them engaged a swallow manouver, appearing a short distance from the Confederation fleet. Each of them unloaded a second salvo of Wasps which joined with the first making nearly 1000 of them in all. The Combat Wasps fired off their combat wasps including smaller missiles, laser weaponary and sensor overload odnance to try and blind the Confederation ships before the huge payload primary warheads closed. The Voidhawks also discharged all of their laser and plasma weaponary then before the enemy could return fire performed anoter swallow manouver, appearing out back in their previous defensive formation, just as the first UPDF ships began to emerge.
It took a few seconds for the full UPDF fleet to emerge, as soon as their sensor clusters were aligned they began to engaged their combat systems, moving into high combat gees and prepping their weapons systems. Within a second a complete tactical chatter channel had been opened within the fleet. The Admiral attempted to open a second tactical channel to both the Pride and the SolFed fleet, where he asked for the specific orders of the fleet.

The GMC/PDN Satelite watched the furiosity of the opposing forces. The GMC/PDN were not going to participate in this. Instead, they planed for something more spectacular.

The ships dipped and dodged around blasts and missiles, firing at the them and allowing fighters to destroy them. They came in close to the enemy fleets, intending to disallow the use of long range weaponry and missiles.

The RAA Alexander went on a broadside run with the Confederate warship Scorpia. The ship was facing an older brother but was more keen to fire on its brother. They opened fire.
