Most anime has that one depressing episode. It could be the death of someone or a charcter leaving another.
But some anime is sadder than others.
Whats your opionion on the saddest anime?
Do you have your reasons?

I use to think DBZ was the saddest. I mean everyone died. But after awhile I realized they would come back. They wouldnt just dissappear forever.

~Spoilers ahead~

Now after careful consideration I think Full Metal Alchemist is one of the depressing shows I have ever seen. Dont take me the wrong way, its one of my favorite animes. But I have not cried that hard over any show since 8 Simple Rules. Ed and Al's mother died. Their father left them. They burnt their home down. Nearly died themselves. Nina died after being transformed. And now Maes Hughs dies by the look a like of his wife. And his poor child and wife. My god I cried for like 30 minutes.

But I am overly sensitive.

Ohh man.. I watched this 12 part anime like 8 months ago.. I swear if I wasn't so manly -Flexes for the cameras.- I woulda cried.
It was called like... Kannazuki no Miko.... I think! It's some goddess of sun and moon betrayal lesbian anime thing.. I enjoyed it for the most part.
The last episode is so sad. sad

PS: YUA was my personal most depressing anime.. How could they change chews between seasons?! Season two made me cry... IT SUCKED!!! I miss Natsumi and Miyuki.. sad

Pita-ten! I almost cried in the store (That wouldn't have been good!), but I dropped the book instead. I ordered the box set from hong-kong, so I haven't seen the anime yet.

~Spoilers~

In Volume 7 one of the most important characters goes away. Well she really dies (I'm not saying who!) Then in Volume 8 Misha passes her angel exam, with a little help of Kotarou's wish! Which is...And thats all I'm saying.

Wolf's Rain was one of the saddest animes I've ever seen. I guess being an apocolyptic anime, it's to be expected. I still however cried. (especially during one particular episode)

Spoilers:

When Toboe gets shot trying to save the old guy then crawls through his own pool of blood to be near him again, I cried. I taped it then watched it again and I cried again even after I knew what was going to happen. It was horrible. I also cried when Hige died because Kiba was forced to put him out of his misery because he was hurting so much, both physically (because he was obviously hurt) and mentally (because his beloved Blue was dead). It was just really really sad. It remains one of my favorite animes though. By FAR.

Makes me sad just thinking about it now...*sigh*

Yeah...like...everybody in the whole world dies. The weird thing though about the end I still don't get. Is everybody in the city wolf then?

They were the cutest couple. gonk Destiny sucks. I barely understood the ending. Why did they come back?

I think it was because paradise gave them a second chance at life. What I'm thinking is that the four of them really did make it to paradise (Hige, Kiba, Tsume, and Toboe) and it came in the form of a town. I think all the 'people' that were walking around might have been wolves but maybe not. I'm kinda hoping that Blue made it too because she and Hige were just made for eachother...

A Little Snow Fairy Sugar (or Chicchana Yukitsukai Sugar) is sad in some parts. Most of the time, it is a really happy show, but there are a few sad parts that almost made me cry. Now they don't have the same effect on me anymore because I already know what happens! That is why I wish animes were never ending...then you could keep watching new episodes and more new episodes...

The Pita-Ten anime is sadder then the manga! During the 2 last episodes I was sitting there crying (About 40 minutes)! Shia failes to be a demon so she dissappears on the night of a full moon. Then everyone justs forgets about her, except Misha. Misha becomes so depressed...then she brings Shia back by making herself dissappear.

The end gets better. Misha's sister lets Misha come back. But the fact that the series was over mad me cry....
