Okay this is to see what David Bowie albums people have in this guild, which one they like best, and of course oppinions on the albums. Rather simple.
okay, what I'm looking for is what cds people own and their favorites, as well as their comments on my oppinions of the ones I have, and see what their take of the albums is.
Now post away fellow Bowie fans.

The Man Who Sold the World 7/10
It's a good album, I adore the opening song to death. But it''s really in all reality going to sound about the same throughout the songs, the only ones that stuck out really were Black Country Rock and The Man Who Sold the World. It though shows some of the powerful sounds from the sixties. I recall once when my mom was asking about this album and commented it sounded sort of like a Led Zeppelin cd.
Space Oddity 8/10
A great album, to say the least. I enjoyed it because of the whymsical sounds of things such as The Wild Eyed Boy from Freecloud and Cygnet Comitee was awesome as well. The title song didn't stick out quite all that much because I already knew it from best of Bowie. The downfall to this track is it's sort of repetitve in lyrics such as 'God Knows I'm Good' it's just not quite the Bowie I got used to. Otherwise this is awesome.
Hunky Dory 9/10
This album just rocks, plain and simple. Oh! You Pretty things is an awesome song as well as Life on Mars? those two always stuck out for me. It's good throughout except for a few places like eight line poem and Quicksand, but great otherwise. Bewlay Brothers is another awesome song to me, i enjoy it quite alot. The deep sound and then this much faster sound for a bit. And Queen b***h is just a plain fun song.
Other albums will be reviewed below later.

Ziggy Stardust etc. 7/10
A grat album to say the least. A classic none the less with the hit Ziggy Stardust. The concepts in it are wonderful, and had a great sound of the 70s glam, quite ironic with that being a cd from the 70s and he was a glam rock artist at that point. The thing i don't like about it is it's another album that makes each song sound closely related, no contrast, nothing that really stuck out other then the first and last song. But the lyrical usage and all stuff mentioned above made it an awesome album.
Aladdin Sane 6/10
I didn't enjoy it all that much, sure a nice jazzy sound and great fun sounds in Cracked actor. Watch that man obviously had a nice sound. But the other songs weren't that great. It's simple, I didn't like this as much as others.
Diamond Dogs 9/10
WHOA! Is what I have to say about this, the sweet thing, candidate, Sweet Thing Reprise was all I didn't like about it. The great starting with Future Legend, an eyerie sound to near the end when it says 'This ain't rock and roll, this is genocide!' really felt like a concert sound, and to break out in the song Diamond Dogs. Spectacular. Big brother was a great song as well, but We Are the Dead just simply blew me away. 1984 had a disco sound, and that was kind of nice.

Station to Station 5/10
Maybe the reason I don't like this one quite that much is because it was put on my burnt coppy of Ziggy Stardust after it. With that said, I'll say what i remember of it. It didn't have a great sound to say the truth. TVC15 was a nice one. People often enjoy Golden Years, but I never liked that so for my oppinion that knocked it down.
David Live 6/10
To say the least, concerts should be watched, not just listened to. What I do enjoy out of it is the song All the Young Dudes, I liked it because I didn't have it, and well it wasn't his song altogether so he didn't get to put it on cds. The vocals went well with it, but the sound of background music was really alot lighter, I disliked that.
Best of Bowie 6/10
I never liked 'Best ofs' they really ruin the sounds of things. Also I disagreed with alot of these songs ever being hits, some I plain didn't like. Enough said.

I've got: Space Oddity Aladdin Sane The Man who Sold the World Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars Earthling Best of Bowie Layrinth soundtrack
My favorite is definately Ziggy Stardust. This is only sort of related but a few days ago, I got bored and started reading CD booklets. In the Electric Warrior (by T. Rex) one, it said that Bowie's song Lady Stardust was about Marc Bolan, frontman of T. Rex. I'd never known that confused which is sort of strange since I'm such a rabid Bolan fan.

I own only one CD, CHANGESBOWIE. On vinyl, I have Tonight(which I can't sleep without) Let's Dance, Sound + Vision. I also own the reality tour DVD and Labyrinth with the making of (which is almost as cool as the movie itself). Not the best collection, but enough.
My favorite songs by him would be(in order) Loving the Alien, All the Young Dudes, Space Oddity(especially the phrase, "Ground contol to Major Tom, your circuit's dead, there's something wrong. Can you hear me major tom?", it releases just the right endorphins.), then The Man Who Sold the World, at the Vma's, I think, 1996? It was pretty badass. I don't really like too much of the ziggy stardust stuff. I want to get all the albums he did with Eno, but they are hard to find. I also found a tin machine vinyl, but decided not to buy it. I think I made a mistake.

Seemingly my dad at least has the single 'bang a gong' that's decent at least,. Now only if he had the full album. Either way, I could probably dig it out of somewhere at borders, as well as the pink floyd cd 'Music from the film more.'

(I also had to resort to buying Electric Warrior online, but I've found some T.Rex collections in Virgin Records as well, if you're anywhere near one of those.)
Discounting the greatest hits collections: Hunky Dory -- which I shall now pause to say is my FAVORITE ALBUM EVER-- Space Oddity, Young Americans, Ziggy Stardust -- I hadn't known that "Lady Stardust" was about Marc Bolan until I read this thread. whee -- The Man Who Sold the World, Heathen, 'Hours...' Earthling, Reality, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, ChangesTwoBowie, Lodger, Scary Monsters, Let's Dance, Images -- I like the pictures on the sleeve -- Ziggy Stardust the Motion Picture
I quite like his modern look and music, but my favorite albums are from the seventies. I love the songs, the sound, the look; the whole shebang. Great stuff.

I got a couple of mine at Hastings, but they don't stock them anymore around here. Surprisingly though, they had Zinc Alloy and the Hidden Riders of Tomorrow. whee
