Mahiris paws landed against the ground with a thud, slipping against the dry grass, he found himself flat on his stomach. "Ow" He shook his mane and continued to walk, despite having a few stalks of grass protruding from the chocolately mass of fur that was a mane, he kept his chest high, scarlet eyes searching for his cream and honey coloured mate.
Beckikins
The honey coloured lioness wasn't the hardest girl to find right about now. She was roaring in pain maybe a little too often. How would she know what to do when this happened? Mahiri wasn't around and she had managed to crawl into a cave just under Pride Rock. How she had found the cave she wasn't sure but at this precise moment in time she didn't are.
Another roar errupted from her as another contraction happened. She had her eyes closed as she laid on the ice cold cave floor. This was pain that she had never felt before and she wasn't sure what it was. She knew it was something to do with the pregnancy but what she did not know.. All she did know is that it hurt like hell.

Mahiris ears swivelled slightly as he thought he heard a noise. His brow furrowed as he walked closer to what he assumed was a creature in pain. His head appeared around the cave door, his scarlet eyes wide in fear as he ran to Bakhtis side. "Bakhti, I'm here, what is it?" He said fearfully, laying his head next to hers. His voice wavered as he said it quickly. "Is it the cubs?"
Beckikins
Bakhti was about to answer as she screeched in pain once more. She didn't know what to do, or anything and the pain was murderous. She could feel the cubs doing something though she had no idea what was happening.
"MAHIRI!!!" She screamed as yet another contraction came on rather quickly. The contractions were coming on fast and the pain was unbearable. She roared in pain once again as she rolled over to her other side hoping that she could remove some pain doing that. It however didn't work.
Another contraction came on and the noise she emmited was not the nicest or elegant sound to the ear. The once beautiful honey coloured lioness was wet, soaked with sweat, pain was flooding her body and all she could do was occasionaly scream her mates name. Nothing in the world could soathe this for her. She just wanted it to be over. She wanted the cubs to dissappear and the pain to be over.

Mahiri felt stunned. He hated seeing her in pain. He lay next to her, nuzzling her gently, but giving her enough room. "I love you." He murmured sweetly. His eyes were wide with shock. It seemed to happen so fast. He was going to be a dad... Wow... He looked into his beautiful mates eyes and tried to soothe her. "It'll all be over soon, don't worry," He licked at her shoulder, trying to give her a small piece of comfort. "Dont worry, I'll be here. Just breathe..."
He didnt know about Bakthi, but he was about to have a heart attack himself!

Bakhti roared again this was stupid though she could now feel the cubs moving around. They were coming out now! Why now?She rolled around again, Mahiris words didn't do much and she could have cursed him for saying such stupid things but at the same time she didnt have the energy to try and talk and move. It was hard enough as it was.
It was coming, another contraction and it moved. The cub moved!! She didn't know what exactly was happening but was pushing and pushing stupidly hard. The pain that was shooting thrugh her at this moment was too painful for words. There was one major yell and then a little golden head appeared. She roared again as she pushed the body out, a couple of legs and then a body and then it fell, a little boy.
She tried as hard as she could to move and lick at the cub, try and clean him up. The pains had stopped. She must have only been pregnant with one cub, it was understandable. She washed the cub before pushing it towards her body where it just crawled around trying to find where it was going, its tiny eyes not open.
She turned to Mahiri and smiled, "Isn't he beautiful!" She purred happily and was about to nuzzle Mahiri before she roared again. Another one was on the way...

Mahiri smiled nervously. His head was spinning. Thank god males didnt get pregnant. He blinked at the pair of gold legs and almost felt his legs give way.
She was doing so well. He would've fainted by now for certain. He licked her again, watching the cubs progress through squinted eyes. "Mrrr..." He said faintly, watching as it plopped out with a considerable amount of fluid. Eww.. He thought. He smiled, a warmth flaring up in his chest. "He is lovely!" He gave the cub a lick of his own once Bakthi has cleared him up a little.
"Another?" He said, turning to Bakthi. His eyes blinked heavily. She was so brave...

All energy had been taken up by the alst cub but yet this one was on the way and coming alot more painful then the last one. She could have screamed though she managed to just about keep one eye on the male cub.
She pushed, her final effort put into trying to push this cub out. If there had been anymore then these two she would have probably died. She was now as wet as the cubs coming out of her. She was covered in sweat and she was in desperate need of something to drink but she couldn't move.

The male nudged at his mate, trying in vain to utter words of encouragement. She was doing soso well, drenched in sweat and looking terribly exhausted. He wished that there was something he culd do, other than just sitting there and murmuring words that were probably usless to Bakthi. He sighed, licking her again. He wished her could help her. To take the pain away from her...
Mahiris face fell as the cub fell out... She couldnt be... No... He lowered his head, eyes welling up with tears, until he saw her move. He breathed a low sigh of relief, nuzzling his daughter, and licking Bakhtis cheek as she slid away into a sleep.

Bakhti was exhausted she could feel the cubs suckling and all she wanted to do was sleep. Her throat was sore from the roaring and the lack of any type of water. She wanted to sleep so badly but there was nothing that would allow that yet. She was happy just watching the cubs with her eyes half open. She made sure however that nothing would go wrong with the cubs especially the female. Taking a breath of life and dieing probably wasn't the best way of starting life but she was ok now and the male seemed full of life. She managed to open her eyes enough to look at Mahiri and give him a loving smile before looking back at the cubs. At least there were only two.
