(devotional from extreme for Jesus)
Regrets are hard to let go of. We beat ourselves up over them. Often, these are the things we do to other people/ We bring up these past sins to God again and again, asking for forgiveness over and over. We seem to forget that God says, "I will not remember your sins"(isa. 43:250. When we ask Him for forgiveness for something a second time, He says, "What are you talking about? I don't even remember your sin because I already forgave you."
Sometimes, we know that God has forgiven us but we haven't forgiven ourselves. But the only way to deal with regret is to let go of your past and forgive youself. Think about it: if God-the Creator of the universe-has forgiven you and cleansed you, then surely you can forgive yourself. Let God's love and grace fill you as you accept His forgiveness by forgiving yourself.
Lord Jesus, I'm so tired of dealing with this regret. Thankyou for forgiving me. I choose to forgive myself and let go of my past. In your name. Amen.

I REALLY struggled in this area for years until someone kind of yelled at me about it and said, "How DARE you think you're GREATER THAN GOD???" I was ..... stunned ..... she went on to explain that if we are refusing to forgive ourselves or someone else when God has already done so, it's like we're telling God, 'Well, it's okay if YOU forgave me/them ..... but MY standards are HIGHER, and I'm not forgiving them ...."
You know, that pretty much took care of my holding on to all that 'garbage'. If HE lets it go, who are WE to continue to carry it???
Great job, bro!

I have had a regret or two I needed help with! Praise God for forgiveness! For he is holy! Right after I prayed, I felt cleaner, like I had been cleanzed.
