Just curious, do any of you follow any "trends" for your teams? :3
For names, I usually use mythological, bands/song titles, or characters from books/other video games.
Type-wise, I usually end up grabbing the fire starter, a bug/poison type, and whatever else chatches my eye as I wander around leveling the rest. ninja
And you all? whee

my teams describe what they are used for
Strike (speed and attack)
SHield (defense and stamina)
so on and so on
so i go for a description when i name my teams
and name for the pokemon on the team...just normally whatever hits me at the moment..my name Solarcrest first came from me naming my charmander on read after Tidus/CLoud from FF cause of the tide/wave cloud thing..so Sun and crest of a wave lol

My brother named all of his in Dutch o_O Who knows why? I just randomly choose names whee
Type-wise, I like the grass/bug Pokemon best. It's a great feeling, beating up trainers wielding only a Caterpie... xd

Type wise my teams usually are:
- Eevee and its evolutions
- Small, cute Pokemon with sand attack (yes that is my fave move ever)
- Team of the starters
But my most well known team is:
- Fire/Electric mix
Name wise my Pokemon are usually have names in Japanese or my own made up words/names.

Usually my teams consist of:
Fire starter
Water/Ice
Grass
A bird (usually pigeot, or Ho Oh in Silver)
Ground
Wild Type (usually psychic, mostly random)
The names are random- whatever I feel like at the moment. XD

yesh, I always grab bulbasaur.
my team usally consists of a grass, dark, electric, flying, fire, and one that's only use is to know HM's.
and they are usally cute and fluffy heart
name are like totally random. Bulbasaur (m) is ALWAYS buddy >___> that was my first pokemon evar... and is my favorite..
Pidgy ish always Dragon. I love pidgys.. XD
and my umbreons are always Midnight. 3nodding

My team is almost always made up of fire-type Pokemon. There are times when I do need to use a water or electric type too (Lapris and Raichu <3).
Right now my team is named after Norse Mythology, the leader of then being Fafnir. ^___^; 100% of it is Vulpix.

Come to think of it, whenever I get a Pidgey that I keep in my team ( which is usually), I name it Pidge. XD; That was my first pidgey's name, and I liked that one a lot. x3

When I started playing Leaf Green, I gave my pokemon weird, random names. ^^; "Bobbo Bob" was my bulbasaur.
For PG, I'm not sure where I'm going as far as naming. Keita is one of the boys from a Japanese band called Lead. But if I get any girl pokemon, they won't exactly fit the trend there. ninja
My team name is Method. I don't know why. I just liked it. >.>
I'm trying to come up with a "strategy" for building my team here. Where it's very unlikely that I'll get three eevees, I'll just try for one to get espeon, a psychic element. I have a skitty, and I want a meowth, both of which are normal.
Then there's the undecideds: vulpix, ponyta, dratini, and sandshrew. Two fire, one water, one ground. (One more than I can have unless I get another two slots. domokun ) I don't really have a particular type I like... But does that sound like a good team: psychic, normal, fire, ground? even though the shop isn't about battling? ^^;

My team is named X because I prefer to keep anonymous with most things.
All my names are EMOTASTIC TO THE CORE baby.
Types..I usually go after the strongest type.
Besides Mudkip.
I hate mudkip.

My last game, I gave them anime/disney character names. I'm a dork, what can I say? XD
As for starters, it depends on the game: Red/Blue/FRed/LGreen is always Bulbasaur
Gold/Silver: Always Totodile
Ruby/Sapphire: Torchic
The next pokemon: the one I catch first, is usually a flying. Mostly Pidgey. heart After that it's a first come type thing. The first three are the ones I use all the time. Then the last three are constantly switched.
I usually go for Grass, Flying or Fire types. Flying are my faves though. ^^

I try to have a wide range of types in my party.
Electric
Flying/normal
Grass/poison
Fire
Water
*wild card. Wild card being psychic, ghost, dragon, steel or whatever.
I at least have fire, grass, water and electric. Just as random as I am, I pick a different starter each time I start a new game, however I do favor the fire type and grass type starters. I always name my pokemon and they are random names that I make up. ( like Valinos, or Ralarien... Cauna... ^.^ )
Its amazing how others use different pokemon and different tactics!
