i play an ibanez rg electric guitar... which i really dislike and i want a new electric... and also and wasburn electric/acousic that i am in love with... it has an awesome deep blood red finish that is opaque enough to see the wood grain and it sounds awesome.

Wow. Sounds nice.
I have a 30 year old Livewire acoustic, and a Mexican-made Fender Stratocaster electric.
Not amazing guitars, but I'm quite content with both.

Necrohazard ive been trying to play creep by stp.. but chording is not my strongpoint... i have an easier time with fingerwork and power chording. I'm the opposite... I really need to practice the power chording/fingerwork/solos. Chords were the first thing I learned on my acoustic, so I have no issue at all.

It's not metal, but I want to learn Oasis by Kotaro Oshio. He does some amazing guitar work. Sort of the style of Michael Hedges, if you all know who he is. A bit softer than him though. More of a dreamy/relaxing ambient style.

More of a dreamy/relaxing ambient style. Sounds good- I shall download. That type of music always finds a time to be played. Stoned, pensive, relaxing/meditating, night driving music, etc. biggrin

Now's the part where I recommend a song... .... No particularly great ones. But you gotta give me a break. I couldn't fit my guitar and amp in the car on the way to college. I'm deprived!

"Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd was the first full song that I learned. It's quite easy and it's a simple but an amazingly genius song.

one of the first things i learned how to play is the intro to "one" by metallica... learning on electric can be really frustrating when you first try to play acoustic.. i'd recommend more than anything learning on an acousic or acoustic/electric... but it definitely helps having the guitar in plain sight as far as practicing.

Howdy - New here.
I play a little guitar, but those who helped me get into it dwarf my "skill" completely. First song I ever learned was Treacherous Gods by Ensiferum. I really don't like to learn to play other bands' songs, cause i look at it as kinda stealing their material, but that's just me... been playing about a little over a year.
