I'm 5' 4.5'' tall and my BMI is 35 ... I weigh 204.5 and I want it to drop....

I can't do much exercising right now because my sinuses have me laying in bed crying from pain right now

Only thing you can do right now is eat right. Nothing high in sugar, fat, ect., and especially no junk food. It slows your metabolism greatly.

When you feel better, I'd recommend going jogging for 30 minutes a day, 3 days a week. Also, do 2 sets of 12 military-style pushups, and 40 crunches. That with your healthier diet will allow you to lose more weight faster.

With the healthy diet, make sure to eat around 6 small healthy meals a day. This will help to speed up your metabolism. Make sure to give yourself rest when you excercise, so that your body can repair itself.

Oo wow Tiger's kept me out and about .... ok I've gotten the sinus crap over and done with, and just so you all know, I walk for about 30-45 minutes a day and I really never eat too much anyway... though about the time my period hits, I bloat really bad and cramp badly and crave sweets (thanks to my mother for THAT unwanted gene stressed )

I've got a very bad metabolism and can't lose the weight I gain for some odd reason... I also have high cholestoral

You know I really wasn't going to help you at first because I thought you'd be another person who is just like, "Woe is me I can't lose the weight because it's hard." However, good thing I saw this post 'cause it sounds like you're ready to take initiative. The fact that you have such an attitude towards your doctor for only doing that is a good thing. Now, you take more initiative. Tell your doctor that you think he's right or that you agree and you would like to do something about it. There's really not much he can tell you except recommend things because it would take days upon days to tell you how to be healthy.

It's basically like this. Your body, the main things you have to worry about are your muscles and fat, needs a certain amount of everything to keep going. The main thing your muscles need is water, protein, and carbs, and obviously other parts of your body need nutrients and other things to keep it going. This is the exact reason of why you have to eat and why it's almost better to eat more than to eat less. Don't not eat because you'll just gain more fat, because you're body will be like, "s**t s**t s**t there's no more food coming in let's save it." Saving it = fat. Therefore, you don't really want that.

Food = energy. However, sometimes you have too much energy. All you gotta do is say "Oops" and wait for the long arrival of getting healthier. Eating healthy means saying no to Fast food, chocolate, deserts, and all the good stuff that has 1 second of pleasure and a 1 hour work out. Really nothing I can tell you other than to get self control. You gotta learn to just be like, "Nah, I'm good, I'll eat an apple."

Why you gotta exercise. Exercising sucks. Let's put it that way. Well, not really actually. Getting into shape sucks. Working out is total addiction when you get into it. Trust me, I never thought I could do it. I would almost die on the treadmill doing nothing. That's another thing. Don't do way too much and burn out. Do a little and keep doing more. Take your time. Don't increase the amount of pushups you do by a 100 if it's going to make you say, "Eh, I don't want to workout if I have to do that many." And always realize that doing something is doing better than nothing. It'll take a while, and it sucks. But once you get used to it, it gets pretty cool.

Music, from me iPod, helped me. Blast it for an 2 hours while I worked out on songs that got me going.

Kind of random crap thrown at you but yeah. Basically, eat, dont not eat cause its bad for you. Don't diet. It'll just come back. Change the way you do things. The longer you do it, the harder it is to go away. The more it burns the better it works.

I'm in band camp which is pure excercise from 8 AM to 5 PM and I come home and do 40 sit ups ... and I've lost 6 pounds in two days but my problem is, I'll lose weight and without even changing my diet, I'll gain it back

Ahh...band camp. Sometimes you can lose weight that quickly too because your out in the sun all day. I would know. 3nodding But it is really good exercise. Don't drink soda..if your thirsty drink some ice cold water with a 5 calorie ice tea powder that you can put in your drink. It's amazing smile Good luck!

I used to be pretty damn fat too. i was in 7th grade 5'5 and wearing size 24 pants. it was a cause of depression too. i thought that i had no friends becaus i was fat. and being friendless didnt help too much either. i was suicidal for about 7 years of my life. (i'm only 16) i tried conciling (which didnt help i just got angry at my councilor for giving me stupid advice. they put me in anger managment that didnt help too much either.) so i gave up. i just ignored the fact that i was overweight and started doing things that i liked to do. without realizing it i became so involved in what i was doing i stopped eating unless i was truley hungry. (where as before i was eating when i was bored rather than doing stuff) and started being more outgoing making friends. and becoming happier. without really realizing it i started dropping weight and am now down to a size 16. weight loss is different for everyone thats just how it happened for me.

I would love to see a specialist or a nutritionist, but my parents can't afford it.

I'm in a size 14-16 and I'm roughly 5' 4.5'' I'm at roughly 200 lbs... it fluxuates

im not sure what to say, thing is you say youre doing exercise and such and lose weight then gain it, ever wondered if the fat was getting converted to muscle? if it was then you dont have much to worry about. I recommend in body lotion and getting yourself a routine. Body lotion with help the skin's tugour and help it to stay supple as youre losing weight so you dont get any stretch marks (because theyre a paaaaain >_<)
also, in respect to a rountine, dont obsess to much about it, get up each morning and do 100 sit ups and a few pressups, you say you walk and thats good, try pilates, you can still be a size 14/16 and look toned.
in regard to food, dont mix protein and carbs, so bulk up on carbs in the morning like cereal, mix slightly at lunch or just eat carbs and veg then just eat protein at night, it works but you have to stick to it.
