Sometimes listening to certain songs on my mp3 player makes me think, "That'd be awesome to play that in Jazz/Marching band!" Such as songs that already have brass instrumentation in them such as Vanilla, Papa Lapped a Pap Lopped, or My Sugar Cat, or just your favorites in general.

What songs, fellow band geeks, do you wish you could get your hands on and then bribe/beg/convince your band director to play?

Oh, Vanilla, definitely. I know there are others, too, but I can't think of any at the moment. Haha...I can totally see all our drummers doing that weird dance they do in lives of Vanilla. heart

Quick question: What instrument do you play? (I'm a clarinet. heart )

I used to be in band, but when I was in band I mainly thought of anime themes for band playing. DX I didn't want my precious J-rock getting butchered by my school's band at the time. XD -used to play clarinet. o:-

I play Alto Saxophone, a couple of my friends play clarinet

Blue Sky Complex would be awesome to play too, I can so see us marching to that.

And seeing the dummers in my band dancing to Vanilla, that would so rock

Playing Vanilla would have been awesome. When I can manage to get a job as a band director, I'm totally gonna have some jrock songs made into marching band compositions.

I play pretty much every instrument in the band, flute sax tuba baritone trombone trumpet oboe bassoon, but my main instrument was the clarinet xd

Redemption would be so cool, I was listening to Gazette today. Silly God Disco would definately be at the top of my beg-to-play list.

I think it would be funny if my jazz band in middle school had played Vanilla and the whole 50 something of us got up and did the weird dance they did during the instrumental break.

With as huge as my band was, that would have been quite the sight

You know, if my band played "Vanilla," every single one of my friends would stop playing/stand up (if they were in the audience) and yell, "IKURA!!!!" at the right part.

OMK, our school's going to have a band again this year, and we'll actually gonna be a band! ((my school has a bad history of sucky band directors and stuff not working out... but now we've got a new director who's trying really hard to pick us back up!!!!!!!!!!)) I'm so excited! *dances around*

And sorry for being off topic a bit, but it's exciting!

That's great Nanie-chan! My band has always been the kick-a** one but earlier in the year they were threatening to give us a director that had absolutely no idea of how to direct a band. Thankfully it all got settled and now we have an awesome new director that can actually teach.

Congrats and good luck to you guys ^-^

I think of that all the time, actually!
I am pretty sure I can play all of Miyavi's Gagaku album on clarinet and tenor sax.
