alright, now I'm pretty sure everyone here has experienced auctions, bidding wars, etc, in the Gaia exchange and the Marketplace. Now for those who've done the last 3 minutes of a bid war.. which do you ind more stressful? one in the exchange? Or one in the marketplace? have you ever been in a a last minute bid war? Or are they always calm, and the bids are fairly placed apart, or even you're the only bidder?

Marketplace is more tense. I bought a 2003 August by placing the bid about 3 seconds before ending. Timelimits and being outbid the very last second can be really annoying ._.

The exchange is much more personal. It's hard to get irate over losing an auction when I'm surrounded by smiling chibi avatars!
Plus, in the exchange I can start tossing out cookies to distract the other bidders. ninja
I use the Marketplace for selling only. (Because I can buy stuff on the Exchange, mark up the price, and leave it sitting in the Vend for a while under "buy only". Easy 1-2k profit!)

Both have their own annoyances. In the marketplace, as others have noted, timing counts a lot, and it's not for those with slow connections. sweatdrop
In the exchange, however, you have to worry about the posting limit, people editing their bids after the fact, the seller changing the auction rules/length after the auction's started... at least the marketplace is straightforward. xp

The Marketplace...many sellers in The Exchange are greedy and will keep their auction open until no one is bidding any longer. Or, if bids are still come in, they will extend it, at the very least. In The Marketplace that time is it.
Now, in the Marketplace it's easy to be screwed just by Gaia...I don't know how many last minuet bids I have lost because Gaia was simply moving to slowly to process my bid before the timer ran out neutral
Plus, as a frequent player in The Marketplace I've found myself cheated out of many "good deals" because at the last minuet the seller has pulled the item and relisted it. This happens in the Exchange, too, but not as much because rabbid crowds will rip you apart domokun

I would say the Marketplace xp Time limit can be very...stressful especially when you're going to end up losing since another person would come up and put their offer at the last second.
While in the Exchange, time limits in there are barely precise or no time limit at all whee

Shazay Marketplace is more tense. I bought a 2003 August by placing the bid about 3 seconds before ending. Timelimits and being outbid the very last second can be really annoying ._. Yeah. When I was bidding for a "flower on my head" Someone join the bid and we were at it for the last minute. The other person outbids me with 14s left, then I luckily managed to get back at the 2s mark eek Which is an accomplishment for me because my password is so freaking long it's often my downfall in the marketplace. I lost a purple knot top because of my password crying Sadly, it was such a good deal [the ending sale was at 1111g to give you an idea], that there were four of us in there wanting it. Quote: The market place ones are more stressfull especially when the seller decides that neither is enough and removes the item in the last seconds I don't think I've ever had that happen to me. So far people agree in that the marketplace is more stressful ^^:

[I still can't find elven ears anywhere except the one marketplace seller who selling 2k over store price stare ] Elven Ears go fast over there, in part because they're a guaranteed sale. I always buy any pairs I see that are below the store price because I can relist them slightly higher(but still below the store price) and make a profit. xd I haven't bought or sold in the Marketplace for a while, though. Everytime I do more items in my inventory go POOF.
