Hungry
My selfishness had brought me to a rut
The door of my heart was shut
I failed to notice the giver from the gifts
I hate it when I allow my focus to drift
The brokeness in my spirit was evident to me
My first love was all I longed to see
How could I turn away?
Why does my heart go astray?
The parties were everywhere
But my first love was not there
The programs were good
Everyone thought they did as they should
It was no longer about action
Only one mattered above all creation
I was hungry for my beloved
It is he that I will wed
For I belong to my lover
And he desires me like no other

Wow, that's so good. Not only does it flow, rhyme, and all that good stuff, but it's so true! I like it a lot. And I know your first love, Jesus, longs to be with you as much as you long to be with Him. (I think it says that in there already...ohwell. xd )

I like it too! ^-^ With another half a poem similar to that, and a chorus, you could have really good written lyrics!
