This will be a pole-based survey type thread. I am curious as to whether or not people prefer the book version of somthing or the film version. The pole will change periodically, so come back to see what's new and feel free to discuss it as long as you behave (Keep to the Guild rules).

Harry Potter-wise, I'd definately have to say that I prefer the books. I mean, I love the special effects of the movies and all, and it's FABULOUS to see them in 3D, but becasue they can't make the movies overly long, they have to cut things. Like back stories - How DID Siri, Remy, and James know each other? WHY were Siri and James Animagi? - or characters - uhm, Peeves? Penelope Clearwater? - or favourite scenes. So, you know, I just think the books are better. sweatdrop

I love the book since i can imagen what the charaters look like to me insted of some one giving me an image, my images of the charters are pretty much diffrent other that Harry and Ron. My favorite part of Book Two was left out. When Tom Riddel says to Harry "You're dead Harry Potter. Dead even Dumbledore's bird knows it. Do you see waht he is doing, Potter? He's crying."... ..."Get away bird!" I said get away" I loved that part.

Tomb robber Bakura I love the book since i can imagen what the charaters look like to me insted of some one giving me an image, my images of the charters are pretty much diffrent other that Harry and Ron. My favorite part of Book Two was left out. When Tom Riddel says to Harry "You're dead Harry Potter. Dead even Dumbledore's bird knows it. Do you see waht he is doing, Potter? He's crying."... ..."Get away bird!" I said get away" I loved that part. That part was the $#|%. twisted Though, I know what you mean with the own visions of the characters. I mean, even Jo is always going on about Harry's green eyes, but Dan has blue eyes. Every time they do a close-up of his face, I shudder. Because, wow, Dan is so not Harry Potter.
I'll stop now. Swear to Merlin. *twitches a bit*

I never read the books until I saw the first movie so I always had their screen images in my head. I prefer the books over the movies because I like to read the details and the reasons behind why each character does/feels something. And the movies also take events and rearanges them to fit better on the screen. I personally don't like this.
