Post here any song or show that just gives you a bad feeling, and post a story if you have one.

I have one,

its about me going through PUBERTY!!!

Umm...I was cast as gavroche for our school production of "les mis" and we had been doing 5 hour rehearsals five days a week for about 5 months. and about a week before opening night, I started puberty. and Three days before opening night, they recasted my part and I was put off to the sides. (literally, I was only there for the barricade scenes, where I was pushed to the far FAR left and you couldn't see me.)

so whenever I hear Look down, I get in a crying mood. >.>

That sucks.

The entire audition only theatre class (TMS) last year hated the first show we did, Mariner. It was about Christopher Columbus and is was a TMS only show. The guy playing Christopher didn't learn his lines so the director recast him, again a guy who for some reason didn't learn his lines or wans't right or something. So Christopher got recast again.... so basically there was no lead until like... a week before the show becasue all three of them had no parts.

Fortunetly I was not involved in this show rofl But I heard it was terrible.

Actually, what happened with Mariner was that one guy was cast, and he didn't want the part so he wouldn't do ANYTHING. And then our director cast someone else, and he played Christopher Columbus very very gay. (Not intentionally), and then the last guy was the only senior guy left in the class, and he simply could not remember anything.

We had a lines off test (1 pt off for every transposed word, and 5 pts for every line call) and he got a -50. That's a negative.

Oh. And I was cast as Simon Stimpson, the town drunk, in Our Town (HATE IT). Umm... I'm a girl. And not ugly. Or mean (well, a little). Or drunk.

My friend David's dad saw me during the show (I went out in the audience and yelled at people (LEAVE LOUDNESS TO THE METHODISTS!)) and was like, 'Damn. Poor girl. She's soooo ugly.'

He apologized later. But still. I hate Arthur Miller. (I can't even remember if that show is by Arthur Miller. It doesn't matter, because I still hate him.)

Well, I'm Judas in Godspell at the moment, and whenever we do the crucifiction scene (Judas ties Jesus' wrists to a fence thingeh) I think of the part in Light My Candle from Rent where Mimi tells Roger that she's a stripper at the Catscratch Club and Roger goes, "They used to tie you up!"

So it's hard to keep a straight face xD

"In Ev'ry Age" from Titanic. Because I'm in it. And our Mr. Andrews is an absolutely terrible actor. He's awful. Really. It hurts. He has a Boston accent and makes no effort whatsoever to change it. He just sort of wanders around and sings. Fortunately, I've heard these words from the director: "If he f**ks up 'Mr. Andrews Vision', he's is gone". They've got someone else who they've worked with before who could do it.

Roger's and Hammerstein's Cinderella makes me angry.

At my first high school, it was the big musical of the year. I was all prepared to audition and everything and I knew I wasn't going to be Cinderella because I was only a freshman and I was trying out with my best friend who was way better than me. But I'd been cast before and I knew the director knew I could sing and so I put on my best operatic voice and sang my heart out.

Neither of us even got a chorus part. Some of my friends who I knew couldn't sing to save their lives were in the chorus, but I was not.

So I transferred to a school with a better theatre department. HA! rofl

Or something like that....

Yeah. I played a Chinese girl (and a Spanish girl and an Island native).

I am so white. It's not even funny. All three of us random Chinese/Spaniards/Native were white. And one of us was freakishly tall.

And out hats were A) Thai. And B) Ugly as two ugly people wearing ugly hats.

I have mixed feelings about A Midsummer Night's Dream

I love that play and it was the first Shakespeare play that I really found fun to read

But we were going to do it at my school, and I auditioned and I was almost sure that I would get Hermia, because the only other girl who auditioned for that part couldn't act to save her life

But then it turned out not enough people had auditioned and we wouldn't be able to do it

So when I think of that play, I think of the disappointment and sadness T3T

I hate hate hate The Woman in White. I've said it before, but I'll tell the story again...
There's a certain Live365 radio station that I listen to. Unlike most stations, it doesn't shuffle its listings, but it does change them from month to month. So once I know the playlist, I know when to listen and when not to. Now, there's one song that I love that I've only heard on that station, and a few months ago (actually, a little over a year ago now. Wow, time flies) the playlist included that song. So I tried to make sure I was there to hear it whenever I had the chance.
Knowing the playlist, I knew approximately when the song would come up relative to what was playing when I checked, but since I'm not a paid member, whenever I switch stations, I have to put up with some stupid ads before the site will connect me. So if I want to hear the whole song, I have to be at the station a song or two in advance. And at that point in time, the song RIGHT BEFORE the one I wanted to hear was All For Laura from The Woman in White. I soon came to loathe that song like no other, because it was *so* slow, *so* boring, and *so* long. Geh, just thinking about it makes me annoyed. And so, because I had to put up with that stupid song so many times, I started to hate all mentions of the show as well. And that is why I hate The Woman in White.

I was the scarecrow in a production of wizard of oz (I've been the wizard the scarecrow and the tinman in threee seperate productions) and the dorothy lion and tinman couldn't do the funny skipping dance thing we do when we sing were off to see the wizard. So we tripped over each other in the performance and all fell laughing... Anywhoo, were off to see the wizard doesnt sit well with me...
PostPosted: Sat Aug 05, 2006 1:38 pm

We're off to see the Wizard doesn't sit well with me either, but that because of a physics project.

We basically had to build a guitar, theme it after something, and be able to play said theem song on said guitar. I choose we're off to see the Wizard. It was kind of a fun project but I generally hate physics so it was basically a stupid time consuming project.

But the guitar looks cool. And I made sparkly, Dorothy, ruby slippers =D Which track red glitter everywhere XD

I also ended up doing three part harmony to For Good from Wicked... which ende dup being a total train wreck because the other two people who I did it with aren't string players and I am. So I could play it up to speed but they just dragged a long. And home-made guitars about a a kazillion times harder to play than real ones. It was a huge mess. I couldn't listen to that song for a while either.

Fortunetly, I got a 95 on the project =]

Hmmm...I'm sure I must have one, but I can't think of it. I have one about my friend, though. He and I were doing a camp and we were in the "Tit-willow" scene in The Mikado. He just starts to sing for the last dress rehearsal when he goes:

Friend: On a TREEEE(high pitched, squeaky note)
Me: eek
Friend: *cough* uh, sorry. Let me, uh, try that again.

It was the first time his voice had ever cracked. Thank God it didn't during the show.

So whenever I want to bug him, I remind him of it. It's always funny watching him get grumpy about it. blaugh
