(see poll)
Also, to add some interactivity,
Which is your favorite FF character?
And why?
PostPosted: Sat Apr 30, 2005 10:17 pm

I'd hafta say cyan is my faveorite char. 'cause:
1. i like swords,
2. his sword techs are awsome
3. i like how he says thou.

my second fave is gau, cause of the sole purpouse
of the one scene when he meets cyan
(Thouu! THOU! Thou! THOU THOU THOU THOU THOU THOU THOU THOU!!! THOUUUUU~)
been a while since i played the game tho... sweatdrop

Hands down FFVI is the best FF there is, unless you count FFIII and FFVI as entirely different (PSX vs SNES or Japanese vs English)

I would say English FFIII for SNES... But that's only because I grew up with it.

I think it's a bit obvious that Terra is my fav character... period. blaugh

She goes through such a personal transformation that I can't help but just feel "close" to her. Yeah, that's gotta be the worst short explaination ever...

well i just noticed that there was already a favorite character thing, sooo
i'll change it to "Who's your least favorite character?"

or maybe your favorite scene? Or a memerable scene?

same here, i agree with you.
actualy, i liked everyone, so i cant decide, i keep thinking of reasons why i like someone more. sweatdrop i'll just stick to terra... She is the main character, after all. (even if for a good part of the game you dont have her in your party {wor})

The Fanactic's Tower is difficult to get through. You can only bring your top magic users with you, or you can bring Shadow with you and have him throw Super Balls... that's always fun to watch! whee

I've also complained about the rats, but not nearly as much as my brother does >_o;;

Least favorite character... I'm actually not too terribly fond of Banon eek
I think he's kind of mean to Terra, but maybe something's just translated incorrectly.

Oh, thankyou! heart I spent a long time making it. Purdy, ne?

Fav char: Locke. I can just relate to him more than any of the other characters. But not by much. I mean because I relate to all of the characters a bit too much for any of it to be healthy... but Locke was the one i related to the most.

I have to say my least favorite character was probably... Gau's father... that stupid, little sonofa... well you know the rest. I mean I just can't believe the stupidity of that man... and what's worse is that he reminds me of so many actual people... *sigh* it's disgusting...

favorite scene: The Opera Scene with Celes, and the matching scene in WoR if Cid dies... that music, along with what they both respresent just like... breaks me down. it's rather powerful...

worst scene: Relm & Ultros... i mean anything with Ultros was bad but... I mean come on... that was rather pathetic in my opinion... a bit funny... but pathetic.

I'd start a new topic, but i thought, "nah"
Reasons why FFVI/III are the best:
Reason #1: The main characters are Female (Terra/Celes)
Reason #2: How many other games exsist where the bad-guy actualy sucseeds in destroying the world after the heros work so hard to stop him?
Reason #3: The Opra house was just such an awsome part, it just stands for it self!
Reason #4: Characters - there where so many characters (13?) and each of them had a developed background story. (except for the secret characters, Gogo and Umaro)
Reason #5: The ending- quite possibly one of the longest, (and most satisfing) endings ever made.
Reason #6: Enemies- the kind you loved to hate. (Kefka was annoying, but he was still realy cool)
Reason #7: Attacks- sure, many of the attacks can be seen in other games, but I haven't seen a Bitlz style in any other RPG...
Reason #8: Memerorible- so many scense just stuck with you.. ("ahem... there's sand on my boots!"
Reason #9: The Ghost train - i'm not sure why i count this, but i just do...

Can anyone else think of reasons?

Also why do so many people think 7 is better?

I can't think of any to add at the moment... ninja
I'll post one or two later when I have the time.

The only reason anyone I've heard from anyone in the FF forum as to why FFVII pwns is because of the "uber graphics"... stare
That and "The other games just suck" neutral

The ghost train counts because it's an awesome (mostly creepy/funny) part of the game, followed by an incredible boss battle. You can have Sabin pick up the train and slam it into the tracks, or you can take the easy way out and Fenix Down the sucker. And then, you get that whole emotional Cyan's family scene.

Other reasons... for the time, the graphics were awesome, and some of the sprites are still cool by todays standards. The music absolutely owns; I can't think of a single song from that game I don't like. The plotline is incredible. There's a huge amount of flexibility, especially once you hit the World of Ruin and only have to get three characters to beat the game (Celes, Edgar, and Setzer, if you're suicidal enough to try). Nice mix of serious moments and humor. No one character was pure comic relief.

I guess people think VII is better because the graphics are amazing, and (for girls) because it has a lot of manservice. The music is pretty good, too, but I don't think it's as good as VI. Sure, they were able to better reproduce some sounds, but the tunes in general don't stick. Plus they dropped the traditional victory fanfare followup.

I like VII, but I like VI better. So far, the only FF game I haven't liked is VIII, and I've played all of them except for XI.

I agree that Final Fantasy 6 is the best Final Fantasy game and here are my thoughts on it.

It came out near the end of the SNES life cycle when the full potential of the platform was being realized. At this time 2d gaming had been nearly perfected and thus the developers had a solid foundation on which to create. The later Final Fantasy games made the leap to 3d and are still being refined as the new medium is being worked with. While this is by no means the only reason it is the best it is just a thought I had on the subject.

after posting this, i later found a similar post... ohwell
as for your opinion, thanks!
i like this guild because i can be with people who agree with me, rather then go up agianst all those jerks who say "FF7 IZ TEH R0XZ0RZ!!!111 3V3RY 0TH3R FF SUX!!!!1111one" evil
ok, so not that bad, but you know what I mean.
Of course, in the end I suppose this is just all opinion, and while suported with facts, in the end, you can't change the views of the stubborn jerks. razz

It's also possible that these "jerks" have never experienced the glorious sensation that is FFVI. And FFVII is a pretty good game. It could be much worse--they could be X-2 fans. gonk

Once again, I must be missing something about something else...

but I do agree, most people seem to have the common misconception that ff7 rocked... no offense to the game, i liked it very much. (except for a few parts about it which shall remain nameless.) But overall... a VERY easy game. The fact that everyone could summon, and act within 2 seconds repeatedly if hasted at all, along with the simplicity of making your characters do thousands of damage near the start of the game (yes, it does happen quite simply...)

and i've never played X-2, so i can't say anything about it. but once more... i'm missing exactly why 8 isn't liked by anyone except for a few random people like me. Meh... oh well...
