And I think "Big Brother" was based on a TV show. But IHD said that it's literary themed....

*hasn't read the book yet, since she doesn't have access to it, and has not had to read it in school, since she is only 13, and the teachers force her to read books WAY below her reading level* Yeah....But I have read "Animal Farm" on my own time. I'll make sure to read that one.... xd

Animal Farm is like the Cliffs Notes of 1984. Same principles and themes, but a crapload deeper and more depressing.

Really, Big Brother was made up by the government to be a figurehead of New England. The name from the show derives from the idea that the guy speaking over the loud speaker is the sovereign of the house. Fittingly, the voice you hear on the show is just an actor, given lines to read, just like his literary counterpart.
