-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last Champions of Light:At a young age you were chosen for a life of battle and suffering. You were chosen because you could be the one to save what remains of the world. You were chosen to become a Rider. Hundreds of years ago all was peace and all that was just and good was all that there was. However, all good things must come to an end. The end of the good was an invasion of the terrible Surk from the far south and the ice-hearted Krag from the far north. Burning and murdering they spread across the land like a disease, infecting everything in their path. Why they attacked was unknown and why even yet they persist no one but the Surk and the Krag know. Only one thing was and is certain. They need to be stopped. So it was that the few great Dragons and brave humans that remained selected young humans from their massacred lives and hid them away in a hollow mountain kept secret from the world. There they trained and there they learned to become great warriors to fight for the peacefull lives lost so long ago and to turn back the tides of Krag and Surk. Now is the time to fight back. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JOINING THE RP To join you must PM me this: Characters name: Gender: Age:because instead of a profile to join you will be sending me a full RP postof your character being chosen by an egg and the Dragonling that emerges. This way I can get a feel for your style of RP and know that you can keep up. If approved you can then post it on the first page and after enough people join I will then announce that four years have passed. By then you and your dragon are grown and ready to fight and the RP will continue. THE HATCHING You are a Rider between the ages of 12-15 and now is the time of Hatching. One egg will hatch for you and that will be your Dragon that will fight beside you against the menace races. The link that bonds you will make you and your dragon share everything, including your minds, but that does not make you one entity entirely. Both of you are different beings with different personalities but the Dragonling did not hatch for you for no reason. The Hatching takes place in a large circular chamber within the mountain. The floor is covered in warm sand and the eggs are scatered everywhere. You may notice other children in the area but you will not interact with them. Make this moment special. Your dragon is bound to you heart and soul! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ONCE THE FOUR YEARS HAVE PASSED You may now create a profile for yourself and your dragon to be pm'd to me with these standards(NOTE: you can not have every weapon there ever was! Also every rider has a lance and an armband that will display the colors you choose to represent you. Dragons are essentialy shaped like this though you may alter size and other attributes): User name: Character name: Character appearence: (Discription only please) Personality: Weapons: Magic abilites:(keep it reasonable) other: COLORS-(You can choose any two-to-three colors to represent you and your Dragon. The colors use will become clear later & first come first serve!) Dragon name: Dragon appearence: (Discription only please) Personality: Unique Dragon Magic: Your profile will be approved and posted and then the RP can truely begin, but be sure that you read the other profiles! RULES All that simple stuff you already know applies ~ ALL GUILD RULES ~ THIS IS ENTIRELY LITERATE, full sentances, speak with "", and not ridiculously short unless it fits the current RP situation. Dragons will speak telepathically, they can do this with anyone personally or in groups as they choose but they must speak in "" and also in italics so everyone knows its the dragon which speaks. ~ NO GOD MODDING, you can kill anything that deserves to be dead. No more or less! All the other Riders are your allies, but do not have to be your friends. ~ COMMON SENSE, lets keep this realistic, you and oyour dragon arent the biggest and shineyest always and you might not get the colors you want. No tears! ~ RESPECT, I play the BattleLance, your war leader. Together we shall ride the winds to save the land. I will be sending you out against foes and create the villages you will encounter along the way. When not battling you live in the mountain in your own appartment that accomadates you and your dragon and can do as you like, but when you hear the alarm we move out right quick! ~ QUESTIONS, any and all for whatever you need should be pm'd to me. I am perfectly willing ot accomadate your wishes if they are reasonable (like having a pet etc.) FOESSurk: Brutish darkgrey skinned behemoths from the south. They ride a violent and primitve form of mud colored dragons and are ruthless and not all that intelligent. Stronger than an average human and a size larger they are hardly simple foes, if stupid ones. Krag: They are human size but are thin and gangly with pale skin and black eyes. Much more cunning and devious that the Surk they ride dragons as well though theirs are all a sickly grey or yellow. Agile and truely ice hearted they are all dangerous. NOTE: Battle situations are up to you, your dragon, and your wingmates once you encounter your enemy. Interact responsibly and the battles will be that much better! YOU ARE ONE OF THE LIGHTS LAST CHAMPIONS! YOU ARE THE RIDERS!

Characters name: Kyala Ter'Kel Gender: Female Age: 14
Kyala could barely breath. She had been waiting for this ever since her life began here at the mountain. She had dreamed of this moment ever since she had learned what it was to hope. She was afraid. The Elders had told her only that she should take her time and feel no fear, but she was still afraid. Not of what was about to happen, but that it might not happen at all.
She stood ankle deep in a field of heated sand which stretched to the rounded walls of the large stone chamber and filled the air with its heat deep in the belly of the mountain. Her bangs were plastered to her forhead and her young body was damp with sweat but she did not care at all. Nothing could break her focus from what lay before her. They were scattered throughout the sand and glittered like hundereds of gemstones in the torch light. They were Dragon eggs.
With a hesitant step she approached the nearest egg, a brilliant scarlet thing veined with gold. Squeezing her eyes shut she knelt before it and reached out her hand. As soon as she made contact she flinched away, though nothing had happened. What little breath that was in her escaped in a nervous sigh while she opened her eyes. As she stood she felt her confidence return, even though she was a little dissapointed that nothing had happened right away, and then she started her search.
For the next ten minutes she wandered amongst the eggs, stopping at each one to brush it with her fingertips before moving on. She ignored the other children as she searched, eager only to find her egg. As time passed she began to despair, all of her dreams dying within her. It was not untill she turned away from a light blue egg as big as her torso that she felt it. Before her she saw three eggs clustered close together on the sand. And her heart began to pound. For at least a minute she simlpy stood imobile, feeling her heartbeat throughout her entire body as she studied the three, unsure which one called to her. Each of the three eggs were as beautiful as the next. One was a light rose with darker red highlights, another was a vibrent green tinged with blue, and the last was pure silver with black and white shimmers spread across the shell. Stepping closer slowly, oh so slowly, she did not even blink, afire with the beat of her own heart. It was not untill she was an armslength away that she knew and felt another heart beat with her own.
With a small cry she fell to her knees before the great silver egg and stroked the shell with her fingertips. At her touch the egg rocked forward and she withdrew her hand to wait for the Dragonling to make his way out of the shell. Already she could feel his presence within her mind. Finnaly with a loud crack the egg split and she immediatly reached forward. She helped him climb out of the shell and into her arms, even though he was nearly as big as herself. He was beautiful, a brilliant silver with black and white tinged scales glittering up and down his sinuos length. His oversized wings were clasped closely to his sides but she could still see the ivory silver veined membrane. She found herself captured then by his eyes. They were like the polished night sky and she felt him memorizing her face even as she memorized his.
His heart beat in time with her own and the emotion of it rose in her throat as tears fell from her eyes. Within her mind she could feel his tiredness and the boundless love he felt for her, even though they had just met, and she knew he could feel her love for him. "Hello little one," she whispered. "My heart is yours Kyara Ter'kel," he replied. She shook her head and ran her fingers along his smooth nose. "No Tyrkennen Argetlen, our hearts are one."
And so together they sat, Dragon and Rider, together at last and forever as one. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- _____________________________________________________________ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MONK65 Characters Name: Syvis Jem Callihan Gender: Female Age: 13
Syvis wandered amoung the eggs that resided within the sandy chamber, resting her hand on a few. She saw the other children doing the same thing, but chose to stay silent during her search. Setting her hand on one of the eggs near her she felt nothing and sighed. After touching at least six eggs none had responded.
Making her way the far end of the chamber she set her hand on any egg she passed. Finally she reached the far wall, and had touched every single egg in her course except one. It was the one that sat right up against the wall. She stared at it, she really just felt like giving up. Accept... she knew she HAD to try. This egg was a VERY large egg with an emerald green with a gold sheen.
Taking a deep breath she kneeled down and reached out slowly, her hand shaking. Closing her eyes she set her hand down upon it, and felt nothing. Opening her eyes she slid her hand down the egg in defeat. After removing her hand she felt it, the second heartbeat. She reached out and touched the egg again, it wasn’t it.
She looked around, she’d already touched all the eggs nearby, but she knew the right one was close. She moved left, the heartbeat became distant. Then she moved right of the emerald and gold egg. Again, the heartbeat became distant. Moving back the way she came, the heartbeat became distant once again. So, she sat infront of the emerald egg thoroughly confused.
“What the heck is going on?”, she murmured to herself. Then, she had an idea. Moving around the emerald egg she saw it. It was a small purple mountains’ majesty colored egg with ruby red veins lodged between the emerald egg and the wall. She grabbed it and yanked it out. Setting it down quickly she watched it, as it rocked towards her. Smiling she watched as the Dragonling broke out of the egg and shook the pieces off. The little one starred at her with her beautiful ruby eyes. Syvis reached out with and the Dragonling pulled herself onto her lap. Her body was purples mountains’ majesty with ruby red belly scales and wings. The spikes on her back and tail were also ruby red.
“Hello, Syvi.” said the little purple and red dragon. “Hello, Virllessa.” Syvis felt Virllessa’s pride and love and she knew that Virllessa could feel her own joy and love. "We shall be together forever, one being, and yet still two."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Character’s Name: Toreth Gender: Male Age: 12
Toreth came to the entrance of the hatching chamber. He’d seen it many times before when he came with his brothers to watch them pick and egg. All three times each of his brothers found and egg and in doing so found a friend. All three times, his brothers had gotten a male dragon of most beautiful colors. He didn’t care what the color was; all he wanted with all hope was to get a dragon, a female dragon. He walked out into the sands and listened and watched the eggs and the other children. Most of the other children looked to be older then him, but he did not care, he just wanted a dragon. He watched and saw many of the other children placing their hands on the eggs. He tried it a couple of times but it did not feel right so he sat down in the hot sands and listened. He knew that this was not what you were supposed to do but nothing would stop him for the feeling in his heart was too strong to ignore.
He closed his eyes and listened, time passed and more dragonets meet their riders all the while leaving a smaller chance of fining an egg to call his own. Then it hit, like a ton of bricks forcing him face down in the hot sand. ‘A heart beat, I can hear a heart beat,' he thought to himself. He sat himself up again and listened again, eyes still closed.
Ba-dumb, ba-dumb, ba-dumb…….
‘There it is again.’ He slowly stood to his feet not even realizing he was doing so for his eyes were still shut. The beating heart was so intense, so strong, so true he could not ignore it. Then he set his foot forward moving slowly across the sand ever closer to the beating heart. The closer he got the louder the beating became and the more restless he, himself became. Wham, he opened his eyes to find he had hit his foot on an egg, one of a greenish-brown color. “I wonder if the color of the egg shows what color the dragonet will be. He knelt down beside the egg and placed both hands on the egg.
Ba-dumb, ba-dumb…… came the beating again. His heart leapt for the ceiling and floated back down again. Inside the egg he could feel the dragon inside begin to tap on the egg. He instinctively pulled the dagger out of its sling on his side and started to tap the egg with the handle. The dragonet inside started to tap harder at his tapping and a crack slowly began to appear. The dragonet stopped for a breather and Toreth stopped in response waited for the dragonet to begin again. The dragonet inside started up in a new spot and Toreth resumed his work on the out side and finally the shell produced a hole through which a white snout appeared. He watched the little snout in front of him as it took in deep breaths and he realized somehow that the dragonet inside was a female. ‘I don’t believe it, I really have a female dragon.’ Then the dragonet started at the shell again but with no help from Toreth because now she had to do it on her own.
Suddenly the shell split in two and before him was a white dragonet, she was slimy at the moment but she was beautiful, at least to him. After the little dragonet catch her breath she picked up her head off the sand and turned to look at him. Her violet eyes looked deep with in him and then she spoke. ‘Hello Toreth, I am Chandra.’
“Hello Chandra and if I remember right, Chandra means moon. So if you ask me, that is a perfect name for a white dragon.” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dragonfire Alchemist Characters name: Drake Steele Gender: Male Age: 14
Drake entered the sandy chamber slighlty later on than everyone else. Only a handful of people were still searching in the chamber. Drake ignored his peers and took a single glance around the chamber. He spotted many eggs that had yet to hatch. Drake decided that his best bet was to walk along the eggs like everyone else was. He made his way past a few, and the path became smaller. Drake ran his hand over one extraodinary egg has he made his way past. Drake froze a blank expression on his face. Another conciousness touched his own.
"You are late human, and I will not tolerate such behavior next time you have an appointment."
I am never late, I arrive exactly when I mean to. Drake thought to himself.
"I am glad that you can arrive on time, but from now on it shall be the requested time."
Drake turned to look at the egg he had touched. He stood staring at an egg that gllittered as if it had been embedded with hundreds of diamonds. It was a solid black, but yet it was covered with hundreds of silver spots, as if the egg had some kind of freckles.
I am Drake.
"And I am Shade.
Something within the egg stired, and faint cracks could be seen running along the side of the egg. Drake had to jump out of the way as the egg tipped over, blocking the way he had come. The top of the egg fell to the ground, and a black dragon, spotted with small dots of silver emerged from the egg.
Welcome, Shade
Drake scooped his dragon up and held it on his arm. The two made their way out of the room, on to bigger and better things.

[I wanted the format to be in my classic document style, but my laptop was being a butthead. >.< Darn it.]
Character's name: Zanari Tier. Gender: Female. Age: 15.
Stepping along the blazing hallway, Zanari edges along the wall a bit. She has never gotten used to the heat and is keeping her breath at a steady pace, entirely focused for the event ahead. Adding to the sweat-producing warmth of the chamber, is her pair of pants. They are made of zebra hide and the young woman has had them for as long as she can remember, refusing to ever get rid of the exotic pants. Finally entering the vast nursery, Zanari pauses to take in the reality of what is happening. Over the years of training, this is where a true test will occur. Getting her dragon, her life long companion and trusted equal. The large area within the mountain is warm, dull sand layering finely over the floor. Resting in the sand is an abundancy of dragon eggs, varying in size, color and a few seem more round, or oval than another one. And so the young Rider’s search began. Which egg would be the one to reach to her spirit? Slowly walking into the sea of glittering eggs, Zanari pauses and reaches out both hands. Fingers splaying over a bit of the eggs’ surfaces, her palms lower and rest against the shell. Nothing from either of the eggs she just touched, there was truthfully nothing felt at all within this half of the room. With a somewhat worried sigh, she heads for the other side of the chamber. What if her egg were, for any reason, not here? If it hadn’t been laid yet, stored in here, or what if stolen? Along her way, she sees one of the other children had already found their dragon. This makes Zanari smile, it was a warming sight to see the two, giving her some encouragement and reassurance that her own egg would be there.
Striding forth, numerous eggs frame her path. The young woman wouldn’t be surprised if some eggs actually had gotten placed, somehow, on the ceiling itself! A sudden pulse makes the sand skitter, barely, by her feet. No. Not a pulse. It had been a heartbeat, one that was urging Zanari to find the body concealing the beat, the body itself in one of the eggs. Turning to the left, for that is where it seemed the unhatched hatchling’s heartbeat was directed from, the young Rider walks at the same slow pace as when she had entered the chamber. Nearing one of the chamber’s walls now, she sees something of interest. The egg of her dragon. Zanari knows it belongs to her dragon, for the heartbeat is stronger with each step as she looks straight at the egg. The egg itself is more of a circular shape than oval and it’s top reaches about to her waistline. Two colors are on this egg. Having a orange shell, sky blue streaks are strewn about it, almost in the pattern of her zebra pants. With a bright smile, Zanari kneels beside the egg and places both of her hands onto it. Feeling the hands of the one it has chosen upon it’s shell, the baby dragon gives a muffled squeak. The egg jerked back, slamming it’s shell against the wall with a few bits of sparkling shell flying off to the side. Unharmed and with it’s folded wings and back against the rock wall, the young male dragon looks to Zanari and falls forward, into her lap. Even as the dog-sized dragon rests, the young woman can feel her own heartbeat and breath struggling along with his, as though they both had just burst through that egg. Eyes watering to see a display of miracles and to be a part of this one, of her own, Zanari admires his coloring. Body scales as orange as his shell, his underbelly scales are a fine sky blue. His stubby claws, horns and spinal spikes are a fine shade of dark green, along with his wings’ membrane. The dragon moves his head again, tilting it up to gaze into Zanari’s eyes with his own jade colored ones. "I like your pants, Zanari." She gives a soft laugh and reaches her right arm over, moving some shell from his backside as her left arm cradles the right side of his moist body. "I like your voice, Ulrich." Staring at each other with strong admiration, both let a few tears slip. The only difference, is that Ulrich's tears harden into smooth gems as they fall.

Name: Fieryn Tukoberson Gender: Female Age: 13
Her hands fidgeted at her sides as she continued to gnaw on her lip. She had been wandering about the circular chamber for quite some time now, making her imagine that the warm sand beneath would forever stay stuck to the bottom of her boots. She felt so indecisive, so nervous about what to do that the doubt in her heart anchored her insecurity even more. Was she really ready for this? Fieryn had only just turned thirteen, and didn't think she was mature enough to make the life-changing decision of choosing a dragon mate. Once this one was chosen, they would be forever bonded- like an extension of each other- and such a notion terrified the girl to no end. What if she chose wrong? There were many beautiful and unique eggs scattered around, all deserving to be loved- but only one was really "hers". Couldn't she train for another year before she picked? To avoid any heartache, she wanted to be...right. Sighing, she dropped down to the ground and leaned against a rock so she could think. "Perhaps I can tell them that I am sick, and cannot concentrate today. But no, that would be terrible if there is a sudden attack. ... My, this rock is warm." Turning her head curiously around, her eyes widened as she realized that her rest was no rock at all. Rocks were not deep violet with swirls of maroon, and they certainly did not suddenly start to hatch at her touch. Scrambling on her hands and feet, she scurried behind a real rock and poked her head slightly over the top to watch as a magical birth took place- a moving struggle of breaking free from a shell prison with graceful swipes and swift kicks. Her head completely atop the rock as the hatchling craned its neck around, she was spellbound- transfixed to the point where she did not move until his light blue eyes met her own bright green. Then her eyes bulged as she sank again beneath the rock- rather jittery. Did it...see me? Peeking timidly over the edge, the dark red-maroon dragon still looked in her direction as if to ask why she hid, or if they were playing a game. At this second glance, she was hooked- and had to approach him, but slowly. Crawling on her hands and knees towards the creature, he cooed- and she smiled- as she stopped in front of him in a kneel. His eyes were the color of heaven, and she firmly decided to not let that slip away from her. Casting aside other bits of shell and debris away from his birth struggle, she stroked his neck and embraced her life-partner.
“You are the right one, Curizon.”

Name: Rosette Delias Gender: Female: Age: 12
Rosette didn't want to be here. She wasn't supposed to belong here. At least, that's what she kept telling herself. She thought it so avidly she'd eventually forced herself to believe. How could anything else be true? She was not like so many other children here. She was different, she had her secrets. Dark secrets... While she assured others of her well-being, she knew otherwise. Lies... So much of the present was built on so many lies, and secertly, she hated many of the choices she'd made to get this far. MAny people, who were like her family... they were...
The loud crack of yet another egg jogged her from her deep thoughts. While every other child had run off as this were a carnival, she stayed frozen to her spot, as if staring down an ominous obstacle. She probably would have broken down right then and there and cried had she not looked behind her.
Just outside the mouth of the egg chamber, carefully observing Rosette, was a boy. He was a small boy, not even at the height of Rosette, who was merely twevle years old, but the way he spoke and his mannerisms made him seem much older. His hair was so violently colored, it was almost rude. Violently violet, Rosette liked to tease, but oddly enough, clashed nicely with his deep red eyes.
Rosette stared at him with her own wide, blue eyes. While he looked worried at her lack of movement, she was scared out of her mind over what would possibly happen... or not. The boy smile at her, his toothy grin seemed to help her regain mobilty in her legs, but thus far all they did was shake uncontrollably.
"It will be alright...." He mouthed slowly and silently to sooth her. And Rosette, after taking a few dep breaths and smacking her cheeks, smiled and flashed his a thumb-ups before turning and going inside.
Rosette began to walk slowly, dragging her feet as she made her way along the misshapen paths between the various eggs the other children had unconiciously created. Rosette was unsure of what to do not. Among the droves of eggs, she'd actually seen the end result and the new riders gladly greeting and embracing their new dragon partners. They had a great duty, and destiny before them. Rosette... she didn't know what was in store for her now.
Rosette slowly paced among the aggs for what seemed like a lifetime, the clearly audible cracks of shattering eggshells being the only thing that grabbed her attenion. She was just about to stop and cry again when she turned, seeing something small and white hidden behind several other eggs.
"Now that isn't right..."She said quietly to herself, as she carefully moved some of the eggs aside. She felt they they were stealing all the glory from the one behind them. Even if they were all still in their eggs, they all needed a chance, right?
"Even this dull one deserves a chance..." Rosette quietly told herself as she reached out to move another egg, this one was nothing like its bright and flamboyant neighbors. No, this egg's outer shell was a dull, regular off-white color of a chicken egg.
Ba-Dumb...
Rosette pulled her hand away as if she'd just burned it. The dull, pale, off-white egg. Its had a pulse.... and its pulse was like hers. Rosette slowly reached out and touched it again with both hands. It was smaller than its neighbors, but was much harder to move forward, it was heavy!
"Is something wrong with it?" She breathed, taking in its appearance among its breathern. "They're all beautiful, why is this one so... plain?"
The egg shook beneath her hands. Rosette pulled back again to give it some room, and to take in this moment. No matter how dull the egg looked on the outside. What was in its was her friend, her family , and she was all it had.
Rosette let out a tiny scream as the egg violently shattered, sending pieces of the eggshell shooting off in every direction. Quite a few hit Rosette, the sticky side of one stuck to her forhead, but she was truthfully concerned with other matters. As soon as the egg had shattered, Rosette had put her hands out defensively to protect hesrself as she shut her eyes. When she finally did open them, the first thing she saw were the bits of shell laying in her lap. They were beautiful! The outside may have been dull, but the inside was anything but! They literally glittered as she fingered them carefully. Every color she could think of was reflected off them in the dim light and onto her face.
"...Hello!" Said a cheerful, and loud, voice. Rosette dropped the bits of shell she was holding, and got her first look at her new friend. It didn't take much to get her hooked on him at once. The infant dragon was smaller than most, probably not even reaching up to her waist if on all fours, but in her eyes he was perfect, and cute as a button to boot!
"Violently violet..."She mused, hesitantly reaching her hand out to the little dragon's head. He shook of the bits of shell she'd dropped on him and extended his thin neck to reach her hand and rubbing against her fingers.
"Its just like with him, isn't it? The dragon replied, blinking up at her with his golden eyes between her fingers. She noted that his eyes were even a brighter shade of gold than her hair. Rosette removed her hand from the dragon's head, spreading her arms wide in welcome.
"Yeah, Ryuuko, just like with him." She said, letting the tears she'd been holding in finally come. She let out a loud yelp as Ryuuko jumped on her, taking the gesture as a sign that she really wanted a hug.
Yeah! I get a hug from Rosette! Rosette might look funny, but Rosette feels warm and fuzzy..."The newely named Ryuuko said, nuzzling his face through her hair.
"Hey! That tickles!"Rosette laughed, finding the strength to sit up even with the dragon still clinging to her. "You know, we really have to clean you up. Me too!"
Rosette..."Ryuuko said, taking a somewhat serious tone as he looked at her.
"Yes?"
"Your face looks funny!"
"Hey!"

Characters name: Ryan Gender: Male Age: 15
Ryan looked awkwardly into the huge chamber, the heat making his face tingle - or was that the life pulsing in there? As he stepped out onto the sand, which shifted beneath his boots, he gingerly pressed a hand to each shell he passed, but received nothing like what he'd been told to expect. A tingle - no, it was just another bead of sweat popping from his forehead. He approached a white egg, veined with deep blue, and the air around him turned cold, raising goosebumps on his arms. He watched his breath mist in the air, and it hit him. "It's hot..." Kneeling on the sand, he pressed both hands against the shell, which felt as cold as ice, and murmured, "I'm here." Suddenly, the egg bucked straight up off the ground, whacking him in the mouth and sending him sprawling. Ryan scrambled on hands and knees back to the egg, and caught it in a bear hug, pressing the side of his face against the cold shell. The egg knocked from side to side in his grip, and it started to shake violently. Already cold, Ryan’s teeth were chattering rapidly, but he talked constantly to the cold egg. “It’s me; Don’t be afraid; Nobody’s going to hurt you.” The egg stopped shaking, but began knocking towards the left at intervals of several seconds, and fine spiderwebbing cracks appeared around where the egg was being hit. The cracking grew to about the size of his head, and at the next hit, a clawed, scaly foot punched through the eggshell, the scales showing dimly blue/white through the eggskin. The foot hung limp and quivering, and Ryan tilted the egg over, pounding on the area around the hole with his fists, breaking off sections of shell. The occupant of the egg stuck its head out of the hole, looked around quickly, and with a shallowly forked tongue, licked Ryan’s face. “Torokal?” “Yes.” Ryan started pulling at the hole, and the egg began splitting around its middle, the two halves falling away from the small dragon, who jump-hugged Ryan as soon as it was free. “Ryan?” “Yes?” “You have eggshell in your hair.” Ryan laughed and hugged the dragonling closer, feeling the link in his mind lock into his very core.

Characters name: Calidar Miotra Gender: Female Age: 14
Cali stood listening to the man who had instructed her and the other candidates for the past three weeks to be ready for the Hatching. He was telling them to be calm and to let their minds be completely open. But Calli's pounding heart was beating loudly in her chest, drowning out the words. She had no way of knowing if she would be picked by a dragon. There forty children and only thirty-four eggs. Six people would walk out dragonless. The fear that she wouldn't be chosen gripped her insides tightly.
Before she knew it, Cali was being ushered outside onto the Hatching grounds with the other candidates. Through her thich-soled boots, she could feel a comfortable heat from the sand. When she entered the grounds and saw the eggs, it was like nothing else existed. Her heart pounded as she stood. With the others.
Suddenly, she couldn't seem to move. It was as if her fear had somehow prevented her legs from working. The other candidates were spreading out around the eggs. She knew she was supposed to spread out, too, so that the dragonlings could sense her presence, but she couldn't move. She had no control. Her heart pounded harder and faster. All around, she could hear eggs cracking, dragonlings sqwacking, candidates' many ezclamations of joy, the croud cheering.
But there was another noise, one she couldn't place. It was like a song being played, soft, but distinct. It was a lilting tune like a reed pipe only gentler, and it was a small sound, almost lost in the sea of noises. But it slowly got louder and louder, until she thought her head might burst with the beauty of it. Cali looked around, amazed that no one seemed to hear it. They were all either tending their dragons or waiting near an unhatched egg, oblivious to music drowning them out.
Soon, she couldn't hear any other sound but the music. It was like nothing else existed. She looked around for the source, and came face to face with a bright green dragonling. The baby dragon's eyes whirled with dozens of blues as the music in Cali's head surged. A switched clicked on in her mind. The music was coming from the dragonling, and no one else could hear it because this dragon had chosen her for it's Rider. As the realization entered Cali's mind, the music trilled and then went silent.
"My name is Tanneth, Calidar," the dragonling said to her. "From now on, we are dragon and Rider, forever a part of each other. I am yours and you are mine. It will always be this way."
"Tanneth..." Cali whispered. "Thank you. Thank you for choosing me. I love you so much. You're beautiful."
Tanneth's eyes turned a brilliant shade of purple. Cali took that to be pride. Dragons were very prideful and loved to be complimented. They were smart, too. Even at a young age, dragons knew what they looked like, who their Rider was, and their name. But Tanneth looked especially beautiful. She had a smooth, triangular head, delicate feet, beautiful bat-like wings, and a smooth tail. A line of white spikes trailed from the top of her head, down her neck, back and tail, and left a wide gap between the shoulders where a Rider would sit. She was small for a dragon, only reaching to Cali's waist at the shoulder.
Cali was overcome with love. She was so happy. Her dream had come true. She was a Rider. She had a dragon partner. They would be together forever. she was vaguely aware that six children were being led out: the six unlucky candidates. All the new Riders and dragons were being led to a small lake where the Riders would bathe their new partners. Slowly, Cali and Tanneth joined them, each basking in the joy of finding their lifelong partner.

Characters name: Cain Lylesdale Gender: Male Age: 15
Cain huffed unhappily, digging his hands in his pockets and taking in the large circular room with calculating eyes. He was ecstatic about being here; he had waited his whole life since coming to the mountain, training hard and long to get the far. To get a dragon partner. However, Cain had failed to realize exactly how many eggs were going to be scattered around the room. He had figured that after all of the work, there would be a big ceremony, and he'd be handed an egg by a smiling instructor. Apparently it wasn't going to be that easy. Cain supposed he had known all a long about the real ceremony, about wading around in the ankle deep sand as he did now, looking for a needle in a haystack..... it was a little ironic, he had concluded, seeing as dragons were generally large and easy to spot. I guess we all have to start small... he thought sadly, eyes scanning the eggs closest to him with scrutiny.
"If you ever make fun of my size, Cain Lylesdale, I'll have you char-broiled so quickly you won't have time to apologize."
Cain's head nearly shot off his shoulders. Turning around cautiously, eyes wide as saucers, he whirled around, looking for the source of the noise. He had been told that he and his dragon could speak to one another, but he wasn't expecting it to be so.... invasive. Afterall, most people didn't hear voices in their heads. At least he knew his new partner was nearby... even if it had almost given him a heart-attack. Closing his eyes, Cain focused on his breathing, blocking out the room around him, from the shining eggs to the warm sand they dotted. He coaxed his still-shocked heart back to it's normal, hearty, thump before stretching out his hands in concentration.
thump... thump....FWOOMP A small tittering wave danced passed Cain's feet, the source a beating egg (or was he imagining it?) on the sand only a few feet to his left. Deciding to temporarily look over the fact that no one's heart made a "FWOOMP" sound of any kind, Cain waddled slowly through the sand to the egg in question. It had character, Cain had to give the occupant that. The rounded top of the egg was tilted lazily to the side, but even then it came up to Cain's chest.... and he wasn't short by any standards. It was a pale green egg, with a soft pearly sheen to it that begged to be picked up. A very pretty color, Cain decided. The only problem was that it had splatters of thick white all over it. This white had no pretty pearl glitter to it... in fact, it really reminded Cain of bird droppings. Absentmindedly he wondered if they had left his egg out in the sun and a few daring members of the avian species had decided to play target practice. No matter.
Reaching out to grasp his egg, and avoiding touching the white parts (just in case) Cain laughed inwardly at what a pair he and his egg made, even without a dragon present. The egg was formidable in height, yes, but had absolutely no girth. It was, in Cain's opinion, the skinniest oval shape he had ever seen in his life. If it got any skinnier, he would think it to be a cylinder instead. But it was the inside that counted, right? He, himself, had often been mistaken for a bean pole with his lanky figure, so he supposed he had no right to talk. Yet.
Impatient with his partner's wandering mind during a time of such concentration, his dragon began pounding on the egg as if the devil himself would come for him if he stayed inside much longer. Small infractions shot off in different angles, and Cain began to feel guilty for whomever had to clean the mess up when the Hatchings were over. Just then, a particularly large piece shot at his knee and ricocheted off into the sand to his right. Cain knelt down to observe the new hole and barely missed getting his eye gouged out by a clawed and eager foot. Backing off a few inches and keeping his hold on the egg, he stared in awe as the dragon quickly shot off the rest of his egg, as huffily as Cain had been not 5 minutes before. With the shell finally gone, Cain collapsed into the sand in disbelief.
He had a girly dragon. It was very.... rosy? No, Cain admitted to himself in defeat, it was pink alright... that is, he was pink. He'd never hear the end of it from the guys. Deciding to put off mourning his lost masculinity to another date, Cain scratched the back of his neck and watched his dragon interestedly. The dragon was quite lithe, with a small, compact bone structure. The baby was only as tall as his waist, body-wise, but he had a long neck that was currently busy directing it's head to different parts of the room, each part more exciting than the last. Finally, it swerved around to look at Cain. Cain stiffened in shock at his dragon's brilliant eyes, a soft seafoam hue with golden flakes. He had a long snout, and a smooth forehead, and small, most likely useless, boneless ears. His underbelly, as well as the underside of his neck was a pale pink, with the same pearly sheen as the egg it came from. Under second inspection, Cain realized that the dragon before him was streamlined, his body without the normal defensive spike of a dragon. Even his long tail ended without any threatening growths. Despite this discovery, Cain still had a mind to stay away from the creature's claws though.... he was sure that they still worked properly.
"Are you done gawking yet, twiggy, or are we going to stand here all day?"
Cain gave a small "eep!" and pulled his across his eyes and face defensively. After a second, he lowered them slowly, offering timidly, "You're very pretty..."
"Handsome," the dragon interjected"Guys are handsome... don't ruin my masculinity, Twigs.... it's not good for the ego..."
Cain nodded slowly, getting to his feet. "I'll remember that... well... should we go then?"
"without any embrace of love and happiness? I'm heart broken"
Cain bit his lip nervously. "Well... I was kinda going to keep that for later... you know, to preserve masculinity and all..."
"Fair enough," the dragon responded, waddling over to Cain. Cain smiled and ran his hand carefully over his partner's head.
"It's nice to meet you, Veraldimir Sireinime"
"Blast that name..." The dragon grumbled, "don't ever use it Twigs... you won't like what happens when you do..."
Cain grinned devilishly. "Duly noted... Sticks..."
"Sticks... I kinda like it... has a certain ring to it.." Veraldimir replied in good humor. Cain sighed in relief. Things may not be so bad after all. Sure, his dragon was pink, and had a sense of humor to rival his own... but perhaps pink was just an indicator of how mature he was... it took a real man to wear pink. As for the humor... well... Cain would enjoy having someone with enough wit to keep up with him. Things could get so boring in the mountain sometimes....
Together the pair walked towards the exit, Cain with his hands shoved back into their original positions in his pockets, Veraldimir with his neck craning to see everything he could of his new world. They'd make a good pair, Cain concluded with a satisfactory smile. Evil had best watch out for them. There was nothing more scary than a boy and a dragon who didn't mind the color pink.

CHARACTER PROFILES -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- User name:Nell_Dreamweaver Character name:Kyala Ter'Kel Character appearence: She is tall and formidible with long hair like autumn fire and eyes that hold a storm of hazel hues. She wears full light armor of silver and black skillfully wrought to show her lean strength but to maintain its ability to protect. Beneath that she wears simlpe black leathers and white cloth. She also has a helm of silver crested with a gold plume which announces her status as BattleLance of the Riders. Her features are angular but pretty and she carries herself with all the authority of her title. Personality: She is as strong minded as the mountain but her flexible intellect lets her asses problems from many sides. Her temper can bite harder than a Dragon but she does well with the troops under her command. Her boundless love for all Dragon's gives her the insight to battle forth and she holds a burning desire to purge the land of the enemy. Weapons: Two long slim knife-like sword blades and her lance Magic abilites:Kyala was gifted and trained in telepathy and can communicate with anyone mind to mind, giving her an advantage over the small minded. With great effort she can controll things and manipualte them with naught but her mind, but it tires her quickly. She knows some other basic magic as well, but preferes steel. other: Kyala rescued a small mountain cat that had been abandoned in a hidden cavern and befreinded it. It is now a comforting companion in her appartments and ever since she has enjoyed rehabilitating wild creatures and setting them back out in the wild. COLORS Black and Silver Dragon name: Tyrkennen Argetlen Dragon appearence: A large and magnificent beast of a brilliant silver tinged with blacks and whites. At his full grown size he is eleven feet at the shoulder and his wingspan is massive. Large even for a dragon he is still leanely muscled and quick in the air with a long sinuous neck and spiked tail. His eyes are like a midnight blue night sky. His ridges of spikes and horns are all a pearly white, as well as his fangs. Personality: Quick witted and clever he is still very patient and calm. It is very hard to rouse him to anger but he can be unstoppable when it comes to his boundless love for Kyala. As the BattleLances Dragon he holds no power over the other Dragons because Dragons are always equal, but he always has a powerful presence and confidence. Unique Dragon Magic: Tyrkennen can manipulate fire of all kinds, giving it a purpose almost akin to a life of its own. It is very handy in battle situations because of its ability to seek out its target mercilously. Every time he uses it however he loses precious strength. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Username: Memory_Melancholy. Character name: Zanari Tier. Character appearance: Being a short young woman at 5'3, Zanari has dark green hair that reaches a few inches past her shoulders and piercing gold eyes. She has womanly curves though, but is decent and keeps most of her skin hidden by her zebra hide pants and a long sleeved, dark blue shirt. The pants fit snugly around her waist, loosely framing her ankles. Her dark blue shirt has wide cuffs which nearly hide her hands, the collar of her shirt is low enough just to see her collar bone. If anyone were to ever catch a glimpse of her bare legs, or for any reason, her bare back, they’d see a very exotic and strange design in her skin. Swirling markings rest on her calves, a twisted, vine-like pattern spread from her lower back and widening at her shoulder blades. Personality: Serious and harsh, it is rare for Zanari to be a leader since she knows her advice and words usually are taken the worst way. This has made her speak rarely. Since she keeps to herself a lot and her few words sting, many would think Zanari to be a cold and heartless character. She is not at all though, for she is only blunt and truthful. When embarrassed though, the green haired woman will blush quite noticeably. Her only reason for embarrassment, is when Ulrich does something ghastly. Zanari is in fact a half faerie, this explains her dark green hair, golden eyes and easy ways with faerie spirits. She doesn’t want any of the others to know what she is though, for fear that they might judge her for it. Weapons: A scythe, it's long handle black and white. On each side of the scythe’s blade, is a dragon. The pointed tip is where the tail is located, the dragon’s head is looking back down the blade and shooting flames from it’s mouth. This emblem has been etched in by one of the elders of the mountain. Magick abilities: She can summon a few faerie spirits with the proper spell to aid in a certain situation. When exposed to the rain, Zanari’s markings will become visible. Although it’s not really an ability, it’s something unusual that occurs. COLORS- Black and white. Dragon name: Ulrich Extravagant. Dragon appearance: Body scales are a dark orange, his underbelly scales are a fine sky blue. His sharp claws, horns and spinal spikes are a fine shade of dark green, along with his wings’ membrane. To aid him in any charm maneuvers, his eyes are a deep jade color. Ulrich is eight feet wide, sixteen feet long and twenty feet high. By dragon standards, he is fit and in his prime. Glossy scales, coordinated limbs…he will proudly parade about and sing a random song to attract a female’s attention. Personality: Out going, witty and loves to charm the opposite sex, Ulrich is the exact opposite of Zanari. Loving to be the center of attention, he enjoys singing from time to time and will talk constantly. He might be quite the jubilant prankster, but he does know when enough is enough. Unique Dragon Magick: Different pitched roars can tune into a song that can break through rock, or various other sorts of tasks. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- User name: Midori_person Character name: Cain Lylesdale
Character appearence: Although older, Cain is still a stick of a boy, now 19. He had given up long ago at filling in his lanky figure, and has become comfortable in his body, where he used to be awkward and bumbling. Because of this, there is a faint sense of grace about Cain, matching his softer features. His face is long and ovalish, not quite round enough to look strange in comparison to his body. With cropped chocolate colored hair, tanned skin from riding, and honey-brown eyes, Cain is rather good looking, given you overlook the various scars and bruises that seemed to glue themselves to his body constantly. Not a big fan of heavy armor, Cain wears as little as he can get away with, and even then only on his top half. This causes quite a riot from those who insist that he will die if he doesn't arm himself, especially since he isn't a world class mage or fighter. The only reason he can get away with it is the argument that with the heavy armor, he'd only weigh his dragon down into a slower pace, thus getting rid of the purpose of Veraldimir in the first place. Whenever not out on missions, Cain prefers to wear simple cotton shirts and breeches, with leather boots, and his armband (which he tries to hide at all costs... he just doesn't like the colors).
Personality: Cain is a very laid back character, eager to make the best out of a situation. His strength lies in bringing a lighter, comedic atmosphere into the room, even if he doesn't mean it. Opposed to Veraldimir's biting sarcasm, Cain is famous for his softer, joking mood, which serves as a buffer between his dragon's personality, and the social expectations of the Riders. He's a kind individual, although not the smartest crayon in the box, and tries hard with everything he does. His only problem is his tendency to get very harsh in situations when there is no way to evade the dense mood. In times like these, he's happier flying and away from company.
Weapons: a long sword, a dagger (hidden in his boot), and his lance
Magic abilites:Not talented in the magic field at all, Cain has been reduced to the simple magic used to light fires and provide light in dark spaces. His magic is very minor, and not even close to being considered a weapon.
other: Over the years, Cain and Veraldimir are still calling each other "Twigs/Twiggy" and "Sticks". It's a personal thing, in a way, so neither of them really like it in the slightest when other people call them by their nicknames.
COLORS: pink and teal/aqua (click)
Dragon name: Veraldimir Sireinime
Dragon appearence: Even now that he's grown, Veraldimir is still small compared to the other dragons. His skinny body, long neck and tail, as well as large wingspan make him look more like a winged serpent when flying, rather than a omnipotent dragon. He lacks almost all defensive horns and spikes, the only ones present being the ones that adorn his wings where the bones meet. Almost fuschia-pink in color, his scales seem to be covered in a pearly coating, making his body feel smooth and without the normal, faint ridging of scales. His eyes are a bright aqua color with golden specks, piercing and odd.
Personality: Sarcastic and all knowing, Veraldimir has a fiery personality, despite what his appearance may suggest. He's a bit blunt with every situation.. an honest to goodness kind phrase without any sarcastic attachments is hard to come by with him. Despite this, he takes to people pretty well, never hating a person until given a reason to hate them. Whether or not they can take his sense of humor is a different matter. Even with Cain, Veraldimir finds little reason to tone down his vibrant speeches, although he will reluctantly give in to his partner if he really knows that he means it. His relationship with Cain is a strong one, surpassed only by Veraldimir's relationship with food.... luckily it seems impossible for him to gain weight, so eating to his heart's content doesn't seem to cause to much of an issue... that is, unless you consider the food budget.
Unique Dragon Magic: Veraldimir is gifted with the ability of speed. He isn't built to be defensive... or offensive, for that matter, but Veraldimir can fly faster than any other creature around. This makes him the optimal choice for scouting missions, or rescue missions that require urgent help. He may not be able to fight, but his speed really does come in handy. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- User name: Bigfoot TI Character name: Ryan Telarik Character appearence: (Discription only please) Heavily muscled, he has a sharp, angular face with piercing green eyes to match. Even in summer, he wears a fur-lined parka with his colors in an armband on the sleeve. His hair, an unruly shoulder-length mop of red, gives him a striking apearance, especially since it is often tinged with frost. Personality: He is somewhat given to revelry, but it is often not reciprocated, as his quarters often dip below 60 degrees. He can be deathly serious, and is the idiomatic 'unstoppable force' in hand to hand combat. His Norse ancestry often shows in his speech, with exclamations of 'by Thor's hammer!' and 'for the love of Odin's eye!'* peppering his sentences when he is agitated. Weapons: In addition to the GI lance, he weilds a heavy broadsword with devastating power and accuracy, in pair with a deceptively small buckler sheild. Magic abilites: (keep it reasonable) He knows a few basic healing spells, and some small defensive spells, but that is about the limit. other: His quarters resemble a viking longhouse, with the fire trench running down the middle, and spaces for sleeping along the sides. One entire side is hollowed out for Torokal to sleep in, and the other has bundles of sleeping-furs for Ryan's infrequent guests. COLORS- white and blue Dragon name: Torokal Dragon appearence: (Discription only please) At eight feet tall (shoulder), he is not big for a dragon, but he is so heavily muscled that he seems much larger. His scales are white, shot through with blue streaks along the slipstreams. His spinal ridge is narrow and jagged, almost like the icicles that form along rockwalls. A thick neck supports his wide head, with a blunted snout marked with blue around his eyes, mouth and nose. Personality: He tends to overthink a situation, with Ryan often having to do something impulsive to get him to snap out of it. Unique Dragon Magic: Instead of the classic flame, his breath is close to a blast of fine hail, brutally cold and razor-sharp. He can also manipulate existing patches of ice to his own needs, such as causing the icicles hanging from the eaves of a house to lauch like arrows. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- User name: whiteraven93 Character name: Calidar Miotra Character appearence: She has short, boyish hair that;s naturally a pale blonde, but she dies it forest green, and has bright green eyes. She's tall for most girls her age (five fppt seven), and is average weight. She wears a skin-tight, no-sleeve, deep purple shirt, baggy leather jacket, loose black pants, and leather boots. She has the features of royalty, with an angular face, unblemished milky white skin, long graceful fingers, and smallish feet. Personality: She's serious a lot of the time, and doesn't let herself go when people are around. The only friend she has made is her dragon partner because she is shy and has little self-confidence. She shuts herself off from other people because when she was little, her parents were killed when bandits tried to kidnap her, and now she thinks she isn't useful at all. She never hives up and is always trying her best. She is a fast learner and generally pretty smart. She doesn't understand a lot of political things and when she comes across something she doesn't understad, she skips over it. Weapons: a longbow, 30 arrows, a dagger, a lance, and a staff (which she has with her most of the time, because it is all she has left of her family) Magic abilites: she lived in the company of forest animals as a child and quickly developed the ability to speak with them with her mind. She can heal minor injuries and is working on larger cuts, and she can conjure small fires. other: she is deeply attached to animals, especially wolves, and will always choose to help them and will treat their wounds. COLORS-green and black Dragon name: Tanneth Dragon appearence: She has a small, angular head and long neck and tail; bat-like wings; paw-like feet with sharp, curved white claws; doesn't have horns; has wave-like spikes starting at the base of her neck and traveling down to the end of her tail; and intelligent green eyes. Personality: She is as smart as her rider and the two share everything they learn together (so their knowledge only builds). She enjoys solving riddles, and thinks of the coming battles against evil to be like a fun game. She is rarely scared by anything, but hates to use her size to intimadate others. She prefers to fly than fight, but she realizes that she is needed to help fight evil. She has a sweet disposition and hates to fighten other creatures or fight them. Unique Dragon Magic: She can heal any wound or illness with the right amount of time and motivation. She can also breathe fire. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- User name: Shader-san
Character name: Rosette Delias
Character appearence: Height: 5'4 Build: Wllowy Weight: 1131lbs. Eye color: Blue Hair color: Blonde
Personality: Quick-tempered, optimistic, cheerful, stubborn, determined, very protective of the people she cares about.
Weapons: Crossbow, short sword, sheild, and a couple o thick skinned gloves with ivory (or some kind of hard material) covering her knuckles. She prides herself on her distnace attacks, but is quite able at hand-to-hand combat.
Magic abilites: Rosette prides herself as well on her unique mixture of Earth and Air magic. While most skills are for close to far range combat on the ground, (I.E. the ability to toughen her own skin until it is like rock, and reflective moves to reboun enemy attacks.) She has very few for when fighting in the air, such as sending a bombardment of flying stones at her oppenent, or kicking up a tremendous whirlwind that with whip around anything but Dragons as big as or bigger than Ryuuko.
other: She's still trying to learn a bit of Water and light magic, but it not very good at even most of the simple spells. Last time she tried too hard, she accidentally made Ryuuko forget he was a dragon until he accidentally burnt his own foot and regained his memories. Rosette, on the other hand, knocked herself out for about three days.
COLORS-Purple, yellow, and teal
Dragon name: Ryuuko
Dragon appearence: AFter four years, Ryuuko has grown up very impressively. (Only Chrono seems to have a problem, but that's because he does all the cooking.) For the first year or so, he stuck close to Rosette, like a puppy, and even slept in the same bed as her. But after his first year, the tiny dragon suddenly bulked up over night! Since their home is close to the within the mountain woods, Ryuuko has contented himself with staying beneath the shade of the tall and dense canopy of trees and only coming close to home when it magicly rains. When it does rain, all the poor dear can do is stick his head inside to keep some part of him warm and dry.
Personality: Friendly, flirty, jovial, calm and controlled despite the situation
Unique Dragon Magic Like most dragons, Ryuuko is adept at the basic skill fo breathing fire. However, his skills go beyond the basics. A master of many fire techniques, Ryuuko is a force to be reckoned with when angered or cornered (him being cornered is very unlikely). His favorite magical trick is one that sets Rosette on fire. It doesn't harm her at all, (But still freaked her out the first eight times) but can cause serious damage to anyone she comes in contact with until the spell is lifted, or she's doused with a lot of water. Rosette tends to just jump into the nearest pond or well.
other: Ryuuko has been known to have visions of the future, and while they do not go very far into the future, they've yet to be in correct. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- User name: Blade and Chalice Character name: Fieryn Tukoberson Character appearance: Short, scrappy, and lithe are among the chief adjectives used to describe her frame. Being so small and skinny urges her to wrap herself in many layers from head to toe. On her brow is a tan linen band, knotted in the back with two strands hanging outward, that keeps the top mop of her black hair from her bright green eyes. On both sides a thin braid is worn low to about her kneecaps. Around her pale neck a piece of twine is tied, as is around her wrists. She wears a white peasant blouse that is secured in place by a dark green waist cincher and brass ovals on black leather tied around her elbows. The same protective brass pads cover her knees, as well as brown leggings that tuck into her thick boots. When more protection is needed for combat, she adorns a chainmail vest. Personality: Eccentric is a bit of an understatement for her, although she is very pleasant. While at times she is absent-minded, in the throes of concentration she is as sharp as a focused tack. She loves to play strategy games and do anything else that can exercise her mind and imagination. Because she is so left-brained she is slightly shy, and especially around a select few. Never cocky until in the midst of battle, where she can become rather sure-fire and impulsive. She has trained herself to become particularly more adept to fighting the Krag, due to a personal vendetta against them. Weapons: Her lance, two miniature axes, and a large wooden mallet dubbed "Rusty" Magic abilites: When huffy, agitated, or feeling of another highstrung emotion she can spontaneously ignite flames. She cannot control when or where they happen, they just kind of do. Her inventious mind could also be compared to something above normal ability. Other: Fieryn is a scavenger, and therefore loves to collect raw materials to turn them into different things. Her rooms have been compared to a junkyard by the amount of trinkets and items she holds in them, and she can make almost anything with the right tools. She made all of her own furniture, and is willing to trade materials, favors, or information with anyone interested in her creations. This forging ability also gifts her in the way to fix broken things. COLORS- Dark Green, Maroon, and Light Blue : Curizon Heavensgate Dragon appearance: He is a fair size for a dragon at nine feet at the shoulder, with an ample neck length. Truly beautiful in colorization, his scales are a dark red-maroon and the membrane of his wings a deep violet. His spikes and horns are dark brown, like a natural wood, and his eyes are as pristine and clear as the heavens. Not as lean as some of the other dragons, his muscles lie in bulk but in a moderate way. Personality: Always thinking, even if just of abstract things. He believes sometimes that if he weren't around to keep Fieryn in check her head would fly right off of her shoulders. He loves to play the games they created together with her, but also sometimes tricks. Kind and quiet, to truly incite his rage would bring his foe a grave end. Unique Dragon Magic: Using his mind, he can hone in on and locate lost objects or locations. Though not as much a magical ability, he can see far distances. But with his eyes he can also lock a creature or thing in his gaze, causing immobilization until his focus is shifted away from it. His eyes glow when this power is used, and it can take a toll on his energy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ User name: Prince Toreth Character name: Toreth Character appearance: At the age of sixteen now, Toreth is of average high for a male at 5’10. He has short brown hair, green eyes, and slightly tanned skin. His body is lean but built, and his hands are proof of his hard work. He wares a long, brown leather coat over his gray tunic and pants of the same gray color. He wears wraps around his hands and feet for he is not found of shoes or gloves. Personality: He shows some intelligent loves to solve puzzles of any kind. Deep within the mountain Tyrkennen voiced his brassy roar. Again and again his call resounded throughout the thousands of tunnels. He called to the Riders and he called for the beginning of the fight for freedom. His large silvery mass rested at the bottom of a huge cavern that had been painstakingly carved into a bowl ringed with thousands of seats that could provide a perch to either a dragon or human comfortably enough. It was also especially designed so that any loud spoken word in the bottom of the bowl could be carried upward to the listeners above. It was the place where Kyala would adress the Rider's as their BattleLance for the first time.
Resplendent in her silver armour she stood next to her Dragon with one arm on his smooth scaled side. She took a moment to admire the silver of his scales and the highlights of black and white which danced in the torch light, feeling awed at him as she always did, even after having been bonded for so long. "They come," he said to her as his last call faded into the tunnels and she took a deep breath. "You will be a wise leader, why such fright from you, all of a sudden? You were chosen for this path by the Elders. I would not choose a weak heart either." One massive eye like the blue night sky focused its gaze on her and she reached up to scratch one of the sensitive but tough eye ridges. He sighed contentedly and she laughed at him. "You're more kitten than Dragon. And I am not afraid, I am just concerned about how the Riders will accept me." Tyrkennen pulled his head away and rolled one eye in the human fashion to make her giggle. "Grab your lance little one and strike a lovely pose. They will be here soon." She did as he said, grabbing the long heavy silver and black stripped weapon, and stood tall with her helm at her feet and her Dragon at her side. "My heart is yours Tyrkennen," she thought to him quietly. "No little one, our hearts are one." The familiar comforting phrase gave her strength and so she was ready to face the Riders.

Cali jumped as she heard the loud roar from the dragon Tyrkennen. She pulled on her riding jacket and ran to Tanneth's side. The green dragon bent low so that she could climb onto her back easier. "Why are you so nervous?" she asked her as Cali settled into the space where the neck ridges formed a large gap. "After all, this is what everyone has been training for for. And you did expect it."
Cali leaned forward and patted Tanneth's neck. "You never miss anything do you?" she asked. "It's because even though I've been waiting for this, I don't know what will happen. I'm afraid something will go wrong or I'll mess up."
"You will not mess up," Tanneth said firmly. "You don't have to do anything, really. All you have to do is show up and accept whatever the challenges our lives will face. I will always be there to help you. With the two of us together, what could go wrong?"
Cali was grateful for the logical dragon advise. She had Tanneth; what else could she want? She braced herself as Tanneth leaped into the air. Two strokes of her great wings and the two were soaring towards the bowl where Tyrkennen had called from. They circled in the air above the bowl and looked down. Already, dragons and their riders were coming from all directions to assemble. Cali and Tanneth spiraled down to land on one of te tiers. Cali scrambled down gracefully and stodd beside her dragon, grateful that she had not stumbled or fallen. She stood still and watched the dragon and the girl at the bottom of the bowl.
"Calidar and Tanneth, ready for duty," Tanneth said to Tyrkennen. The pair were ready.
