After her previous experience with the leopard Mleli, Siku had taken her own path through the jungle, passing the waterfall where she and Kijibwa resided. Something she was realizing was that the more time that passed, the more familiar she became with the area. Trees and plants were becoming familiar, as well as other landmarks she noted along the way.
Smiling softly to herself, Siku thought back to all the different faces she'd met recently, and how every one of them was different from the last. Maybe the jungle was the best way to go, and she'd keep meeting different animals? That'd be interesting.
Shrugging the thoughts off, she decided to enjoy her peaceful stroll through the jungle, and maybe learn her way around better. And who knew? She might even meet some other new creature she's never seen.
"Wouldn't that be a kick?" Siku murmured aloud, grinning. What were the odds?

Pumbaa had been walking rather calmly through the jungle, alone as usual ever since Timon had left on his adventure/quest/thing. He really wasn't as depressed as he used to be. He walked, with the same jumpy step he had once before, just like he did when he was younger. He was not the oldest Warthog but... he was not the youngest. He walked with a certain sparkle in his black eyes, gazing about... until he heard the umistakable sounds of something... crunching through the ferns.
He stopped walking, his front leg held in the air as he stopped direclty in step. He looked around; his ears twitching. Oh no... what was that creature. He ducked down quickly with a yelp, hoping the big bad scarey thing that was making its way along a part near by to go away in peace.
He then stood up with a triumpant snort and found himself ready to attack who ever dare stand in his way... he snorted, tail held high and began to walk in the opposite direction of where the cub was.
oops.

Whirling around in alarm at the snort, Siku found herself pressed against the ground and ready to pounce, ears straining to hear whatever-it-was that was coming toward her. Tail twitching in anticipation, she continually looked around in waiting, until, finally, she saw the thing.
..What was that thing, anyway? Blinking in confusion, Siku stood up normally again, cocking her head curiously to the side as she inspected it. She definately hadn't seen anything like it before, but it sure didn't look happy. Gulping as her gaze fell on its tusks, Siku attempted to sit fully upright, maybe managing to scare the thing off. Why was it that scary things always had big fangs?
"I...I don't want any trouble! I was just walking through the jungle, I.. I'm sorry if I intruded on your home!" Siku cried, suddenly deciding that she wasn't going to scare this thing. Maybe it had a sense of pity?

Pumbaa, being that he thought he had been going the right direction; make a startled snort when he heard the intruder/stranger/cub speak. He looked over his shoulder, his black tuft of hair on his head falling into his eyes. He blinked, certain that the little yellow and white cub behind him was not hte big monsterous noise he had heard before. He looked left... then he looked right and still heard no more of hte monsterous noise of terror and fear.
He turned around, his tail still held high but his body more relaxed; and cocked his head at this little girl. "You're not intrudin' on my home. The Jungle is everybodies home after all." he said with a smile; his front hooves twisting into the dirt as he looked down. "Sorry if I scared you miss. I thought you were something ferocious that could have eaten me quicker than worms go into dirt." He said, rubbing the back of his head wiht his hoof.
Pumbaa walked closer to the stranger to get a better look, since it had been a while since he had seen a young lion... er... lioness.

"N..no, you didn't scare me.." Siku said quietly, now confused as the creature approached her apologetically. Blinking a bit, she watched it curiously, suprised when it brought up worms in the dirt. Scrunching her nose in disgust, Siku looked away.
"Worms are disgusting!" She said, imagining with disgust the slimy, crawly things right now. Glancing back over to the creature, she realized that worms were not common to bring up in everyday conversation. Cocking her head to the side a bit, Siku inspected the creature once more. What on Earth WAS he?
"I..I'm sorry for lashing out like that, b..but.. if you don't mind my asking.. who, or what, are you?" The question was intended in all sincerity, Siku desperately wanting to know what this creature was. Definately not anything she'd seen before.

Pumbaa smiled, happy that he did not scare this little girl cub and happy she was not something that would eat him... right away anyways. He blinked his coal colored eyes, looking at her with a smile that could melt ice. "That's good. I hoped I didn't scare you." He said, his tail wagging slightly in the unfelt breeze. He cocked his head at her reaction to the worms he spoke of. "Well, I guess one lion to another.. er... warthog."
"I'm a warthog. My name is Pumbaa" He said, bowing slightly on a bent knee. He stood, straightening himself slightly with a hoof. "So, what is a young girl like you doing out here by herself?" He asked, looking at her sternly but still friendly. "Theres dangerous things out here miss." He said, recalling when young simba came to the jungle to live with Timon and him... and had to stop before he got too sad.

Ooc|| Oh, Simba DID make it to the jungle? XD; Shows how much I know. I'd thought that the plague got 'im before that happened...
"A warthog?" Siku asked, looking at him in confusion, before managing a smile. She'd never seen a warthog before, but it was an interesting encounter, to say the least. Pumbaa didn't seem like a meat-eater to her, anyway..
"I'm Siku." She added, responding as he told her his name. At the question of being alone, she laughed a bit, shaking her head.
"But, please don't worry, I'm here with.." pausing a moment, Siku backtracked to think of a word to best describe Kijibwa, not wanting to use 'Love' just yet. The whole concept was still a bit odd, even if they both exchanged the same feelings for each other.
"..With a friend. He's a lion, too." She decided, using the word so Pumbaa could interpret it his own way. Nodding in agreement to his last comment, Siku couldn't help but give a soft laugh.
"I've met a few of them, Pumbaa."

Ooc: I hope he did. If he didn't... oops XD
Pumbaa nodded his lumpy head at her exclamation. He wasn't really used to others not knowing what a warthog was... after all. How could one mistake him for anything else? He chuckled. "Yes a Warthog..Nice to meet you Suki." He said with a smile, his large teeth shining white. The tuft on the end of his tail seemed to wiggle.
Pumbaa nodded with a simle. "I see... well.. where is your friend?" He asked, looking around nervously. He wasn't sure if he liked hte fact there was someone who might be watching him. "can they eat me?

Laughing at Pumbaa's reaction to Kiji, Siku watched him look around, finally shaking her head.
"No, no, don't worry, Pumbaa. Kiji wouldn't hurt you, now especially that you're my friend." She offered reassuringly, hoping to calm Pumbaa down a bit. Though Kiji, being a fully grown lion, likely could, there wasn't much probability he was going to. Nearly bursting into hysterics at the thought of Kiji being frightening, she fought to held it back, though the grin was still evident.
"I..I'd just never met a warthog before now, was all.."

Pumbaa looked over his shoulder at the young Siku; his beady eyes blinking still nervously. "Well, I hope not. Everybody seems to want a piece of Pumbaa for lunch." He said, settling back down into a sitting position. He sniffed the air to see if there was a hidden stranger aboust, but smelt nothing. Relaxing, his tail laying flat on the ground; he looked to Suki with a smile.
"Well, not many warthogs live here in the jungle..." He said, grinding a hoof into the dirt. "I think I am the only one lately. I have been alone for a long time though." He said with a pained look.

"Don't worry, Pumbaa. Nobody's going to eat you," Siku said, offering a reassuring smile. "I promise." Standing up, she trotted over, sitting next to Pumbaa, and offering a very quick nuzzle.
"I mean, come on. Friends don't eat friends, right?"
Going silent at Pumbaa's mention of being alone, Siku's smile faded, making her think a bit. It must've been horrible to be all alone, in a place like the jungle. Why, if Kiji wasn't here, she'd be too terrified to leave the safety of their sleeping area!
"I.. I'm sorry, Pumbaa.."

Pumbaa smiled confidently at the young lioness, his tail wagging slightly as he looked too her with beady black eyes. He could not help but blush when she nuzzled him; which had been the first in a long time of any contact that was nice. He sniffed the air, more comfortable that Suki had reassured him of his safety. "So we are friends?" He said, watery eyes blinking. He missed his friends.
He looked down when he grew sad. "Its alright little miss. I am alright." he said, nuzzling her back.

"Of course we are, Pumbaa!" Siku said, almost in disbelief that he still didn't trust her. Maybe it was something about being a lion that put him off.. shrugging it off as a personality quirk, Siku smiled.
He smile faded, however, when Pumbaa looked down, and a pang of guilt ran through her heart at the realization she, too, would be leaving him. Looking to her paws in dismay, Siku's ears drooped, as she tried to reclaim even a faint smile.
"They're never really gone though, right? I mean, you'll always still have them if you remember who they are, and think about them.." looking up, she beamed.
"Right?"

Pumbaa smiled at this young girl, his tail tuft wagging more in the breeze in his apparent happiness. He sat down, his head held high, since he had not been called a real friend in such a long time. Being alone all this time was starting to get to him. He was getting depressed, and didn't eat as much as he used too. He did look a bit thin.
Pumbaa watched her saddened expression for a moment, before her words awakened something inside him. "yes... They will always be in my heart. I will keep them there, next too the beetle I ate a few hours ago... Right next to my soul and my smile." He said, with a smile on his face and a gleam in his beady eyes. "Because they can't leave me... unlike the bug... which will... well.. *cough* Yeah, what you said Siku... I won't ever forget."
