Figured I'd make one of these. Most links I post will bill for shipper fanfic because that is mostly what I read. I have never read any subtext and only the occasional bitext so if you have any you want to list feel free. Just tell what type it is.



Equal to the Gods By Lady Kate. Lady Kate is an actual author and tells a fabulous tale. For the most part her story is realistic enough that I can see it happening on the show. which is something I like. This is a bitext story and so well done that it almost converted me to the bitext POV.

The Shipper Series
The shipper series is a virtual series of the show from FIN on. It comes and from a shipper point of view and is also very realistic. Seasons 7 and 8 are completed with 47 episodes between the 2. Season 9 is semi completed and will be the last season. There are 12 episodes in this so far. I highly recommend to anyone who likes to read fanfic with a true ring to it.

Brace yourselves for shameless self-promotion...ok...not really because I'm actually fairly embarassed. I can get away with reading fanfics I think...but writing them, I'm not so sure my unbelievable coolness could overpower that. I generally lurk around fanfiction.net because they cover sooo many shows/books, etc., and occassionally I'll bump into something good, but never have I found a good Xena fic there. All that I have looked at have been complete crap (there are a lot, so maybe some good ones exist deep in there).
Anywho! I'm definitely writing the weirdest fic ever of a freakishly NOT AT ALL canon pairing. It's so non-canon that I've never, ever seen it before or even heard it mentioned, and when I mention it everyone goes "WTF?!" even people that don't watch Xena. I don't know what in the world possessed me to do this, and why I didn't just write something normal. stressed
I haven't gotten many reviews (2 infact)...maybe because the Xena fanbase has gotten smaller or something since it is so long after the series ended (or because it's so freakin' weird). It could totally suck and not work at all as far as I know. lol. I'm having fun writing it, and I'm -trying- to be as in character as I can with all of its off-the-wall gloriousness.

Michi, I just saw this and wanted to tell you. I read some of your fic, it was decent. I really only like shipper fic though, so I didnt read it all, but good writing. 3nodding

I'm glad I went back and decided to look through the threads because I was getting pretty bummed out that there was no Fanfic thread! Glad I decided to search back a few pages. smile

Anywaaaaays... I have quite a few links because I've read a LOT of fanfiction. Even if it isn't off of FF.net. I personally don't like a lot of the stuff written on there for Xena...

Anyways... here's my long list of links that you all might find enjoyable! Oh, FYI: Most of my choices are subtext. XP

Academy of Bards - This has a lot of different stories on it that I really like. Plus, you can find subber AND shipper stories! (I'm more of a subber myself...)

Here's a list of the ones I like on there:

At Charon's Dock - If you didn't like the Bitter Suite, this would be a good one to read. Of course, I liked the Bitter Suite and still liked this one. Fair warning though: There is sex. Luckily, there isn't a ton, so if you're a prude like me that doesn't like reading about it, you don't have to skip a lot. It's also slightly depressing...

Champion - One of my personal favorites. It's a kind of 'What if' story that has Gabrielle already being an Amazon Princess. The two of them end up meeting in a totally different way.

Champions - The sequel to Champion. Hard to summarize without giving away the first story so...

Conquering Heroine - An AWESOME conqueror story with a twist: Gabrielle's the conqueror and Xena has to make things the way they were.

The Edge of Nowhere - This is done by my FAVORITE author in the Xena genre. It's another conqueror story that explains what happens 3 years after Gabrielle was crucified. Of course, there are some common spelling mistakes, which usually annoy me, but I was able to get over them and enjoy the story. A lot. I've re-read about five times now. smile

The Leader - If you couldn't tell, I really like Conqueror stories, so it's no surprise that this is one of them. Basically, Xena the conqueror uses a member of the resistance to draw the leader out. The story takes off from there.

Xena Fiction - This is another website that has mostly Xena stories on it. The only downside is that you have to know what you're looking for, or you'll be stuck combing through it for hours... which I've done. smile

Father of All Evil - Another one by my favorite author, this story has our favorite Heroines joining forces with a certain historic figure that goes by the name of Alexander, whom Xena has a history, against the Persians. The subtext is light in this one, but I'm sure you can find it, if you look. smile There is a lot of reference to The Rift in this one.

Spellbound - A story set after FIN (DON'T LET THAT STOP YOU FROM READING IT!), Spellbound brings Gabrielle back to Japa after Xena stops appearing to her one night. It's a great story, written by my favorite Xena author, but I recommend having a tissue box handy, just in case.

Fanfiction.net - You all probably are familiar with this website, so... Not going to go into explanation. smile

Alls Fair in Love in War - This is probably the only Xena story on FF.net that I really enjoy. The only thing I didn't like about it was the annoying punctuation... TOO MANY COMMAS, NOT ENOUGH PERIODS!

Differing Shades of Grey - I guess no harm ever came from a little self promotion. lol. This story changes The Return of Callisto, so if you haven't seen it, you may be confused. What happens is, Xena stops Callisto from killing Perdicas. Neither Xena or Gabrielle know how big of a mistake that was until later on. In fair warning, I'm not a fan of the first few chapters. I may rewrite them eventually. Also, there is violence (mainly with Gabrielle), so if you don't like that, you may want to skip this story.

Reflections and Daydreams - Some more self promotion. smile Because every Xena writer has to have a story where the two admit their feelings for each other, this one is mine. You can also find it in my journal on here, if you don't feel like clicking the link.

FanfictionLMAO. This is a short read and definetly something people should read. Lets just say the ending is nothing like I expected.
