Staring at the empty bowl of what had been something akin to soup, or perhaps a meatless stew, Higure looked around the table at those sitting with him and opened his mouth to say something. But say what? Truth be told, the Jedi Knight was a little lost in his thoughts as he considered the events since he had found the new Jedi Temple and his new home. It had taken hard work to get to where he was now, although just where that was he wasn’t quiet sure, and it would take harder for them to win the coming war.
At least I know why this thing never has any meat in it… During his battle with Nova, or one of her copies at least, Kai had become an almost shining figure powered by the Force. He had aged in appearance that day, yet it was his mind that had suffered the most. He could feel the screams of those dying on the planet and in space, feel their life being diminished in a single second. For someone as powerful as Yoda to live day in and day out in the universe at the moment must be painful beyond belief.
Feeling his brother moving closer, Kai closed his eyes and practiced shrinking his presence in the Force. He could completely hide it now yet that just made him stick out more in a crowd, everyone could be felt through the Force. Unknowingly, his hand ran along one of the two Lightsabers hanging from the sash around his waist. His robes, blue and black, were very different from the norm. but then again a lot of things had changed.
Made from a metallic blue metal, the Human had moved far from the curved hilts he had originally used when creating his first Lightsaber and onto something that his brother had inspired him to. Engraved into the metal were intricate designs of vines, leaves and flowers but the most noticeable was an angle on the end of each of the two weapons and a locking mechanism. Now, Kai could switch between single, twin or dual Lightsaber combat depending on which was most needed and, although fighting with two was still when he was at his best, the ‘Lightsaber Training Master’ could fight with all three.
”So… Anyone got anything to say?”

Kida hadn't even bothered getting soup or bread. Not this time, the cafeteria food had come to a stand still for her, and she didn't want anything more to do with it. Instead, she sat down patiently at the table, just enjoying not having anything to do for the time being. The silence was a little dull, though. Not that she did have anything to say, but other than Kai's lame attempt to start a conversation, nothing else was getting said. "Yeah. Why is it every time we come here we are promised new and better food but there never is any?"

"Well, it's definitely been an interesting journey." Cole said quietly, looking around to those he had come to call comrades. Brothers and sisters in arms. His thoughts drifted to the adventures he has had since comming to the temple and the people he's met and formed bonds with. Then his thoughts wandered to the events that led to his arrival at the temple. The mysterious man some had called Q, who claimed to have been Knighted as a Jedi and who is now believed to be deceased. Q had left an unfinished lightsaber, a project Cole himself ended up finishing in what free time he had in the temple.
Although not as proficient as some of the other students who arrived at the temple the same time as he, Cole had come a long way from the tentative flyboy who could barely handle a vibroblade.

Dante walked purposefully down the corridors of the Jedi academy. He had just recieved word from one of the droids in the comunications bay in the hangar that a coded distress signal had been sent via several different relays, but originating in a city on Naboo.
It was funny how in the short time Dante had spent at the academy the place he had helped most of all was the place that the arch enemy of the Jedi called home.
Dante froze halfway down a hallway and moved his right hand to his mouth. He bent over and coughed, painfully. Shadowy smoke issued from his mouth and disspersed. Dante stood up again.
He froze again, not because he was in pain, though he allways was, but because he had accidentally shadow phased himself to his bedroom... again. Dante stood staring into his mirror. God so much had happened... he no longer looked like his identicle twin that's for sure. Now Dante looked younger than his brother, Dante's left arm laid limp at his side, completely covered by a black shadowey substance that obscured it from view and as you lok up his arm to his shoulder the shadow stops but from the joint black veins appear, going 5 inches in every direction, except towards his eye. the veins going towards his eye are purple and they reach his eye... which is also black, and emitting a shadowey substance of its own as he moves.
Dante sighed... "It's been a long-" He began, but again shadow phased away.
He re-appeared in the cafeteria. "-Month... Sith Spit" he said, loking around, then he noticed Kai, Kida and the others.

"I think it all has something to do with what you consider better food Kida. But you could always haul yourself into the kitchen and cook yourself a 'better' meal, it's not like anyone's going to stop you."
Glancing at Cole as he spoke, Kai kept watch out of the corner of his eye to avoid anything Kida may choose to throw at him. He wasn't stupid enough to think that his comments wouldn't be the death of him some day.
"Interesting? I think deadly may be a more suitable word for it. To be honest, I'm surprised so many of us are still alive."
It was at this point that Dante appeared in the room, a slightly nauseating feeling for Kai. However he had been getting used to the sudden changes of location.
"Although some of us really do need to think about visiting a bacta tank."

Kida scoffed, smiling. Not that it was a bad idea, but she was far to lazy to get up. And if anyone enjoyed their laziness time, it was Kida. Though, she did think about throwing something at him, but there was nothing around suitable.
Instead, she listened in to Kai and Cole talk until Dante phased in. The sight of him still made her feel sick. She probably even flinched, she didn't know. His disfigurement seemed to hypnotise her, and she even had to force herself to look away. There was no way one could get used to that. Not just the way he looked, but the disheartenment of what someone so close to her had gone through.
She nodded silently in agreement with Kai, then suddenly wished she had gotten some food to give her an excuse not to say anything.

Cole chuckled quietly at Kida's and Kai's comments. It's great to see the sense of humor still intact in this place, even though the place itself is barely intact. Kai's humor is such a contrast to how he acts when out on a mission, or even a training session. Cole thought back to his first mission with Kai, something that seems to be a lifetime ago back in Tatooine, and how protective of him Kai was. "Well as much as I'd like to chalk up our survival to skill, luck has a lot to do with it as well." Cole said, looking down at the soup Kida usually mocks.

Dante Looked at Cole briefly, before moving over and begining to devour some of the food on the table. "Yeah, sorry" Dante said, after stuffing his face fora few moments. "I was hungry, I havent eaten for a few hours and when im hungry i find it harder to control the shadow part of me. the only time I can really control it is when Im fighting, I mean the shadow really responds to battle, my arm even comes back to life when im in battle."
Dante continued to eat as he listened to the conversations. people seemed to be enjoying themselves... it was a shame that he was about to ruin all that for another mission... It would be especially damaging to Kida, She still had issues with the place that they had to go to.
Kida... ever since they had returned and his shadow side had begun to manifest she had been spending less and less time with him. It was something that caused Dante great sorrow, the only solace that he found in it was that at least when the shadow powers finally killed the young jedi she would no longer be close enough and care enough to be destroyed by his passing.
Dante listened to his brother speak of the bacta chambers. "for Myself or you?" he asked. "Because firstly My arm and the rest of my shadow makes me hurt when it touches Bacta, and secondly, neither of us have time... We are needed off world once more, all of us."

Cole was about to take another bite when he stopped upon hearing what Dante said. "Another world?" Cole asked curiously. Although he was still a bit weary, the chance to fly has once again got him excited. As much as he's grown accustomed to the temple, his home will always be beyond the atmosphere. Behind the controls in a cockpit, in the cold and quietness of space is where he has always felt he belonged. Cole turned and pushed his food aside, resting his elbow on the table as he turned his full attention to Dante. "Where to? If you don't mind me asking."

"Oh no, no, no, no, no no. You go shadow to a different table because I'm not going anywhere until I've eaten my soup. Or is it stew? Don't answer that question."
To make his point, Kai filled his spoon once more and quickly shoved it inside his mouth. It would seem childish, incredibly so, yet at the same time he was communicating with his brother faster than he could do so with his mouth open.
"Where are we going and why?"
Turning to face Cole, appearing to ignore Dante completely, the Jedi Knight swallowed his soup/stew and brandished the spoon as if it were a weapon in his direction. As wierd as he felt thinking it, Cole had certainly changed, grown. None of those around the table were yet adults, not in years at least, but sometimes Kai felt old.
"Hey, my survival is pure skill!"

Aria came back into the cafeteria after cleaning and rebandaging her shoulder. She put her right hand on the wound and slowly rotated the joint to loosen the tense muscles.
This time, the cafeteria was full. She sighed with relief and just stood still a moment, glancing around to see if she recognized anyone, or if anyone recognized her.

"Hey, my survival is pure skill!" "Of course, Master Cross." Cole said, putting emphasis on the word "Master" since he knew Kai was uncomfortable being called that. This playful tete a tete can only happen in the temple, since he knew that as soon as they leave on a mission once again, everything will be all business. Cole tapped the lightsaber on his hilt as he waited for Dante to elaborate on the mission.

Kida was very interested in what Dante was talking about, but if Kai wasn't going ask, neither was she. Her eyes rested solely on the table in front of her.
Thankfully, Kai still seemed to able to jest. Well, it was his brother after all, no matter how Dante looked she was sure they'd always get along. She just didn't understand how he could act like it was nothing.
"Skill, luck, it's the same thing." Kida rolled her eyes, trying to get back to a normal status. "Though, I'd say it's more skill than luck, but what do I know?"

Aria scanned the faces at the table until her eyes came to rest on a familiar form. A bright smile spread across her face and she dropped her hands to her sides, "Kida!" She cried.
Not having heard anything fo the meeting, Aria didn't really care that she was interrupting, she was just happy to see a friendly face again.
