Friday, August 4th. Early morning:

Wef went drowsily into the maned wolf headquarters building. Flicking on the many lights, she scanned the warmly lit room. The lack of noise, except for the occasional sounds coming from the room where they housed a few of the wolves, was bothersome. A table to her left sat a decently sized television, which she casually flicked on. The news channel blinked from a black screen to a reporter who seemed less than confident.

Wef stared at the uniformed man, studying his frantic voice.

"So, either he's a new guy, or something's really got him uptight.." Wef said quietly

She turned away but a noise on the t.v. caught her attention again. "We have recieved word that several large areas of our beloved country are being submerged... excuse me, drenched.. completely in water. We ask that if you have not evacuated these central areas...."

The man was pointing a shaking finger at areas that were roughly 35 miles or so from the facility.

"...that you do so immediately. I repeat, heavy flooding and dangerous storms are heading toward the east..."

"...s**t." Wef's eyes grew. Granted, the facility was not in the direct path of the upcoming storms, it would certainly take a beating.

The next day:

Wef stands nervously in front of the group of owners and workers. "You guys, if you haven't seen the forecast for next week, I suggest you turn on the tube and..." Wef halted, taking her time, "Basically there's going to be heavy rain soon, and if we don't do something, you might as well kiss your wolves and this project good-bye."

"Right now, I don't know what we can do. I mean, we can call for transport to a neighboring facility, but I can't tell you how long it will take to move the animals and equipment there. Or we can possibly stay here, as foolish as it seems, and wait the storm out. The problem with that is we need supplies, and lots of them. The only other option I can think of is that we set our wolves... free. ...In the wild and make a run for it ourselves. But I doubt that any of us want to see our hard work go down the drain, just like that." Wef snapped her fingers.

"But this isn't just my call to make. I need your help. Your vote, and any other help or option... or ideas that you can give us."
