Volitan Lionfish
Scientific name:Pterois volitans
Size:1'4"
Temperature:72-78 °F
pH:8.1-8.4

Diet:The Volitan Lionfish is a carnivore, and should be fed meaty foods including live fish and shrimp, as well as frozen prepared foods for carnivores. it is advised that you transition it to frozen foods, as most live foods carry risks of disease, and unless they are SW fish, wil not meet the nutritional requirements of the lionfish. DO NOT feed goldfish, ghost shrimp are the best live food.
Behavior:Will eat smaller fish. They will also eat any motile crustacena they can fit in thier mouths. peaceful towards other tankmates too large to eat; also peaceful with large, hard-shelled, and slow moving inverts such as snails and starfish.
Note: VENOMOUS its venom can cause intense pain and possibly be life-threatening in sensitive individuals. For those confident and careful enough to raise one, they should be housed in an aquarium no smaller than 75 gallons if kept alone, 150 gallons if kept with other fish. They may be kept in a reef tank, but will eat any and all fish, shrimp and crabs they can fit in their mouths. They prefer to be the only lionfish in the tank, but are generally peacful towards other fish and can be housed in small gouprs if the tank is very large. it is advisable to only include other fish if your tank is very large, as in a smaller tank the lionfish might accidentally sting them, resulting in the death of the stung fish.
