Instead of posting a lot of info on Tenniel and then following up with his pictures, I will leave all that fun up to you! 4laugh
Besides, it kills off the chit-chat when all the info is already pasted onto the first post. It's a lot more fun to argue over it and establish it piece by piece. ^^

I'll start by saying that he was an amazing artist. He didn't use models for his drawings, and he only had one eye for most of his life, so... Yeah. He still had these amazingly realistic and wonderful drawings that are so much fun to look at. Go Tenniel!

^ His self portrait. ^
Though most famous and remembered for illustrating the Caroll franchise, Tenniel was a very well-rounded artist who did mosaics, water colours and had a unique talent for wood-block illustrating.

It was in recognition not only of his ability as an artist in black and white, but of his service in infusing good humour and good taste into one phase of political life, that a knighthood was conferred upon him on Mr Gladstone's recommendation in 1893.
*likes quoting Wiki*
I wonder what Tenniel ate for breakfast...

We have lots of old tea we need to throw out.
I drink white tea, though. It tastes a bit like potatoes, I suppose, but I've grown to like it. 3nodding

Personally, I believe Tenniel did a lovely illustration of the lobsters from the Quadrille.
