So - as I'm sure a lot of you know - the new generation consoles are coming out soon, bound to result in a "console war."

I, personally, am with Nintendo 100% on this one.

First of all, Nintendo's Wii seems the most interesting, entertaining, revolutionary, and - as always - Nintendo has all of the games I love (Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Super Smash Brothers, Mario Kart, Mario Party, and the list goes on...).

Secondly, the Wii will be motion-sensitive. You get a controller that is oddly similar to a TV remote, attatch it to the "nunchuck" joystick, and point at the screen, and play. It's wireless, and it seems SO fun.

Third of all (if you check the wiki links), you'll see that the Wii will cost $250USD, when it comes out. Yes, 250. That's dirt cheap compared to most new consoles. The PS2 was like $300USD when it came out, and that was 5 years ago, with half of the technology and new features. The PS3 won't cost $250, it won't cost $300, it'll cost $600 at the time of release. Yes, $600USD. That's insane, and a pathetically high price for a gaming system.

Last (and maybe most amazing), you can download past Nintendo games (NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube) directly onto the Wii for the price of $4-9 per game. You hook your Wii up to the internet via a USB cable (I believe), and you can then download whichever games you'd like. As quoted from the President of Nintendo, "It will be like the video game version of the Apple's iTunes music store." So if you like old-school nintendo, the Wii is for you!

So, once again, Wii all the way. I'm so excited. whee

P.S. I know I sound like a total fanboy-nerd-idiot. And I realize that. I just grew up around video games. My two brothers, 2 and 3 years older than me, got Super Nintendo when they were like 5. So I've had games around me my entire life. It's just a hobby. cool

for someone who didn't get a gaming system til she was 12... and a sega genesis at that... I have no real preference.

I would think that playing with the wii controller would make it harder rather than easier... but that depends on what game your playing... and I have a really hard time playing 3-D games anyways.

I think the x-box360 is retarded though... just get a pc... simple as that.

and i don't know much about the new PS3...

I'd say if you can incorperate old games into the new ones, and be able to play your old games on the new system then which ever one that is...

though the wii sounds like you won't be able to have said games forever, because you delete them to make room for different ones. unless there's some ultra cool never ending memory system...

The other day me and a few friends were talking about the PS3 and one of them said that the new games for PS3 will be so that you can only use it on your system. And that you can't share or loan games 'cause it'll only be capable of working on your system. Is that true? Or have y'all heard anything about that? surprised

But I'm with Wii as well. The idea that you can alternate between GC controllers and the new controller just makes me love it even more. Slick and simple form. DvD reader and the good ol' items (OMG, Super Smash Brawl gonk heart )

And Zelda? crying How can you hate that game. I still play Windwaker razz

Though Ps3 is very debatable and Xbox 360 is nothing nowadays rofl

Mario Party on Wii would be SO entertaining, you must admit. Think of all of the minigames, and you much fun you + friends would have doing it. Well, I know that at least my friends and I would have too much fun squashing Goombas or swatting flies in competition. rofl

I still have my old Nintendo 64 with Super Smash Bros. Speaking of which, I never did finish that game. xP
Xbox... I haven't really tried that gaming system. Well, not really. I've played Halo 2 on it once with my friend, but that was it.
Playstation. Sorry, but I must admit that I'm more of their fan than the other two. Even though it was Nintendo who came up with the Gameboy SP. ;-; <3
