StarDust Facility Lab _______________________ -As you open the door to Professor Feline's rather large and metallic laboratory, the sterile air rushes to greet your nostrils. Not the most inviting scent. You look about, thinking you'll see Dustlings floating in pods of translucent green jelly. But, no, all you see is... well, a rather cluttered living space. The white tiles are punctuated only by small black diamond tiles. To the left is a small carpeted area, with a couch (covered in plastic) and a dusty television. To the right, is a large pillow in the corner and a yellow Dustling Dragon snoring peacefully. Directly forward, quite a few paces away, is a large counter and many, many cabinets. Feline is apparently busy typing at the computer, for she doesn't notice you. There's lots more, unseen, on the other side of the lab, and even a staircase leading upstairs, but Feline stands up from the chair hastily as she notices you.-"What do you want?" ((If you come here, be prepared to answer that! Feel free to ask questions or RP here.))

Dustling Dragons:

This is Vestakia, Feline's first Dustling Dragon. She's the oldest one of all the current Dustlings, and has been toughened by time and experience into a witty and clever being.
For the most part, she leaves Feline alone to do her work. But when the urge to go outside surfaces, she will not hesitate to carry on like a baby Dustling until she's let out. Vestakia is not brave, to say the least. She is realistic, and (usually) intelligent, so nothing really gets to her. She will gladly flirt with any male except Caiden, who gets on her nerves.
She prefers to be alone, but lately she's been very sly and conniving and is always seen at the scene of a crime.

Enivali is a quiet, carefree Dustling who loves to stay outside and explore the mountains and forests (despite how far away they are). She's most active just as the sun is setting.
She loves Feline and Vestakia, and loves to meet new dustlings.

Remoran is the offspring of Ira and Yan, two of maskedquerade/Sarah's dustlings. He was cared for by Enivali until adulthood, and he considers her to be the only creature close to his heart. He's rather moody and dislikes Feline and Vestakia.
He's the quietest dustling Vestakia has ever seen.

Saryn is very quiet and rarely ventures out of the lab. She barely knows anything about her family but prefers it that way. She's Caiden's daughter, and Vestakia doesn't even realize it yet.

Koro is a crazy dustling that came from the North Pole. She scared the living daylights out of Feline when they first met, but now she comes back regularly for food. However, most of the time, she's far, far away from the desert.
Comet Serpent:

This is Peraleo, the first accidental Comet Serpent ever. Despite not being created on purpose, Feline loves him all the same [except when he eats her favorite labcoats].
Peraleo loves to tease Vestakia by chewing on her tail when she sleeps. He's always been somewhat of a clown.Star Foxes:

Zureus was the very first Star Fox Feline ever discovered. He's grown quite attached to his new family, and he rarely ventures outside. Feline once coddled him like a baby, but recently he's rejected Feline's affections in favor of being alone and exploring the huge laboratory.
He loves to be mischievious.

Merp is Feline's favorite. He's a trusty lapwarmer and can always be counted on to stay up late to keep Feline company as she works. He's the newest addition to Feline's growing family, but he's definitely the most well-behaved one yet.

Effe watched Feline a moment, trying to find the proper words to say what she needed to.
"Something strange happened yesterday when I was on my way back to my house with my dustpan. I thought at first I was seeing things in the plants, but then I found this adult female." Effe said, turning to indicate Cache`. Nothing stood behind her.
Cache` was nowhere to be seen. The dustling had entered the lab and walked over to the cabinets and was investigating. As she did so, she changed colors immediately to match the surfaces around her.
Scowling, she said, "Cache`...? Oh.. this might be difficult to find her if she followed me in. I was certain she would... She's.. different than the other ones I've seen.. She changes... I thought you might know her owner or more about her."

Feline rubbed her chin a bit, listening to Eftemie speak. "Oh? Huh.." she muttered, looking around her. "I see nothing. So, you mean, you think she's like a chameleon or something?" she asked, and began to look a bit livelier. "What a special Dustling that must be. Where did you find it, again? Near plants?"
She seemed intrigued.

Effe nodded, frowning slighlty. "Yes, like that. She was in the plants. I was going to pick a couple blossoms for a vase, but when I reached for what I thought was a plant, it moved. A moment later I was staring at a full grown dragon. I even rubbed my hand across her and she changed colors. She seemed very amused that I had even found her."
It was about then that the dustpan in Effe's hands began squawking. She blinked looking down at it. She had a baby dustling already.
"Are they supposed to change this quick?" she asked, cuddling the little thing to her. "I named the adult Cache`. I'm sure she's around here. It took some time to get her to follow me, but... she did. Cache`?"
The dragon continued investigating as she walked entirely around the counter. She shimmered slightly as she got to the same side as Effe and Feline were one. The tip of Cache`s tail was sticking out at the end, reverting back to its normal color. She watched both for a moment before moving her tail around to be hidden again. She was amused by their actions.

Feline stared at the tail, peeking out from nowhere. "That's... odd. Anyway. Quite an interesting ability she's got, it's the first inherent ability I've ever seen. I'd love to experiment on her, but I have a feeling that won't be happening..."
She cleared her throat. "Ahem. Yes, dusts do sprout babies within three days due to warmth and affection bringing them to life faster. However, wild dusts take forever to grow, without owners. Sad, really."

"I'm not entirely certain. She seems to be amused for the most part at everything I do. She might come in just to play a prank on you now and then. I guess if you've not seen her before, then she most likely doesn't have an owner. I'll just see if I can get her to remain with me then." Effe said, watching a slight shimmer move along the side of the cabinet.
Cache` finished investigating what she wanted there and then walked towards them slowly. Her color shifted and adjusted as she moved, until she was right beside the two women. Reaching out, she touched Effe's hand with her beak.
Jumping slightly, Effe stared in surprise. She'd not realized the dragon was so close. Patting her, she watched her change color again. She looked entirely normal in a moment. And amused.
"A prankster, I think." she said, raising an eyebrow as her own lips twitched slightly in amusement.
((I think the extra pic from the auction has to be her in flowers, FO, but no hurry. I've been slow making up my mind, I know.. sweatdrop Bad Effe.. ))

Feline nodded and knew it wasn't uncommon for Dustlings to enjoy playing tricks on people. "I'm certain she has no owner, so if you're up to the task of owning her, I wish you good luck," she mused, and watched it carefully, her eyes wide with fascination.

((No problem, FO. I'd have posted sooner than this but my internet has been scarce due to another member playing Guild Wars alot... :/ Thanks for the rp. If you have any suggestions for pranks on people, send me a PM and I'll see what I can do. twisted ))
Eftemie nodded. "I'm not entirely certain how she will behave yet, but when I am, I'll bring her back around. I'll just let her stay with me as long as she seems to want to. You are welcome anytime. Although, I imagine that she'll make her rounds and play a few pranks now that she's been found by one person."
She petted Royale for a moment. "I should probably get this little fellow back home and fed him. I'm sure he'll be hungry soon." After leaving her information with Feline, Effe began the walk back to her house. Cache` followed right behind without hesitating this time.

((Thank you too; and I'm sure you'll be able to find ways of pranking people, especially if I ever come up with an RP event that attracts all the Dust owners into RP'ing. I plan on trying that sometime soon, since the shop seems all but dead and I'd absolutely hate to put a "Show up once a month or the 'Dust gets it!" rule. sweatdrop ))
"Good luck!" called Feline, and closed the door behind them. She looked around, and with a start, wondered where Vestakia had gone off to.

I have just returned home from... outside, and Vestakia and I found two mysterious dusts that hold horns as if they were specks of dust as well. So far I've made no real connection between these dusts and any source in the sky. Normally I can find which star the dusts come from with my telescope. But tonight, no stars match it. I'm baffled.

I have awoken to find Vestakia hiding the dustpans in her corner on her pillow. She apparently has taken a liking to them. I discovered that one is male and one is female, like the angel twins, but I have determined they are not related, nor twins. I have decided I will find good owners for them, but only ones who will take part in the research process.

Mintaka walked in, looking slightly deheveled, as though she'd bene running. Alongside ehr was Twilight, looking somewhat dour and unhappy. Key'rian lingered outside, sniffing at the ground curiously and bounding around in circles occasionally.
Mintaka's fox ears dipped slightly and she shook her head. "Feline... I seem to have a small problem... and a question or two." SHe shifted her weight between hooved feet a moment. "It's Twlight... lately since he's gotten older - well, yesterday he got out... like, hiding near someone's residence out."
She shook her head, pushing hair from her eyes. "I kept the house closed up... somehow Twilight got out again, was on the edge on the oasis this time." Sighing she gestured. "Key'rian keeps finding him thankfully, but he doesn't seem to want to stay... I don't know what exactly to do, I'm worried he's gonna get hurt or lost or something."
She shook her head. "And... with Key, and now Twiligth, I keep getting flickering feelings of something, familiar things I can't place. Yesterdya staring at Key'rian I felt somethign akin to love maybe, today the feeling of freedom very slightly from staring at Twlight... not sure why... might be the heat playing with me and the running, because both were after but it was odd..."
Her tail flicked as she absently scratched at the apathetic and surly Dustling at her side while Key'rian rolled around outside, raising a small dirtcloud some feet away. "It's Twilight's escaping antics that have me most concerned... I don't want to keep him bottled up, but I'm worried he's gonna hurt himself. I'm not neglectful, I see them and my sister keeps watch when I'm out working... I just don't know what to do. He seems intent on being free."
[[Poor Min. xd Twilight's just gonna drive her nuts until she understands him better.]]

Feline's brows raised a bit. "Ah... come in."
She pointed lazily to a chair in case Min wanted to rest, and rubbed her chin ponderingly. "It sounds like your dustlings are of age to begin trying to convey their wishes to you... it may be difficult, but keeping a small log of their actions could help." She watched Twilight, looking rather skitterish. "He tries to run away, huh? I trust it's nothing you yourself have anything to do with. Maybe he's just at that stage where he feels trapped... perhaps taking him on long walks, perhaps out of town, maybe with the aid of a leash, would do him good." She whispered "leash", as not to leave any hint or warning to Twilight, who probably wouldn't like the idea in the least.
"As for Key," she resumed, "she may just be in the young love period-- or she may be searching for a mate, or even just someone to love and show affection for. Although I can't be sure. Maybe subjecting her to different things and noting her reactions could help you figure her out."
Feline went to pour herself and Min some iced tea. "I suspect I'll be hearing from you when Solar is an adult, aye?" she laughed.

Mintaka greatfully takes the chair a moment, exhaling slowly as she listens. "That might explain it... I do pick up on emotions easier now." She scratches behind an ear, patting Twilight on the head to keep his attention on the here and now and not sneaking off again. She took a sip of the tea, thankful for it.
Twilight, for his part, seems oblivious to the specifics of the conversation aside something to do with him. He yawns lazily, plopping down now and watching everyting with some disinterest.
"Hmm.... I'll keep notes, for sure. Walks I can do, I can maybe manage somethign to where he doesn't feel so ... restrained. I'll look into it after I get some rest in. I don't personally mind walking, so it's all good, I just want to be sure nothing happens." She ruffled some of his feathers on his head, smoothing them down then. "Otherwise... something will be figured." She drank more of the tea, pondering over things.
Key seemed to be having a good old time outside, romping around still as Mintaka watched a moment. "You could be right on any counts with her, though... she's just got a lot of energy. I'm not too worried about her thankfully, just glad she finds him. I'd hate to think what would happen otherwise." More then half the tea was gone.
"Oh, I hope Solar Nocturne is a quiet one," she said witha grin. "These two are a handful in their own ways." Key'rian poked her head in just then, covered in a fine dusting of dirt. "Like that. Thank you... I'll keep notes on them and see about getting him out and if it helps. I don't want to do anything which might hurt him, so I wanted to see what you recommended. I've been around a lot of creatures, but everything's so different in the why and how and what's best. Some people might have my head for consiering something like a leash. I have a few dieas though... just have to be sure the lines can't be severed by beaks, either."
Twilight rose, having the distinct impression that soemthing unplesant might be afoot, but too apathetic to bother doing anything about it. Aside, Key'rian was right there in the door anyway, waiting for him.
Mintaka stood then, setting the glass down. "Again, thank you. I wanted to be sure nothing was completely wrong. Or that I was losing my mind completely. Alright... c'mon, let's head home a moment shall we?" She headed uot, humming quietly and leading the two dustlings back to ehr location, satisfied now that it wasn't completely nuts, everything going on.
