My friends and I are thinking of putting on a fashion show fundraiser. We were going to host it in October to have ample time to schedule stuff. We will be asking some local shops to let us model their clothes, and also see if they have someone they can spare to be an MC (considering that they will be able to describe the clothes well and in an intriguing way). Also, we will try to ask some students at a local beauty school if they can donate their services for hair and make up. We will try to sell tickets outside of our campus for the show. Our friends will serve as models and we will try to recruit volunteers to bartend, usher, and DJ.

We plan on having programs ready at the door, but the general layout is a mock cocktail hour with non-alcoholic drinks, and music. Then the patrons will be ushered into the main room for the show. Midway, snack foods will be sold around the room while one of our friends performs. The second part of the show will commence followed by credits, etc.

I had some questions.

~*(1)*~ Are there any more mainstream stores that are generally more willing to contribute their clothes to things like this? And are there stores like GAP or Express that you all have worked with in the past?

~*(2)*~ Are there specific places that are better at selling tickets and creating hype for fundraisers?

~*(3)*~ Are there any other important jobs that I failed to mention or take into account?

~*(4)*~ Can you all think of anything that might add to the experience but won't cost alot?

~*(5)*~ Are there certain types of venues that are more likely to be willing to host such and event? (i.e. art museums or something)

Any and all comments are helpful as I've never done this before and all that I've heard about these sorts of thigns is from attendees and the internet.

Also, the dress code is semi-formal, so we were going to have the "workers" where a generic uniform of white clothes.

Do you have any ideas of other generic uniforms that everyone might have, without having it blend in with all the people coming for th event?
