Alana frowned as she toddled around her house, cleaning it up. Raven was supposed to be coming over today, and bringing her family over. Nakshidil had invited them. So Nakshidil, Laramie, and Xue had taken the third floor to clean. Kael, Laertes, and Micah were cleaning the second floor. That left Naira, Crout, and Infi herself to clean the ground floor.

"Why do we care whether the house is clean?" Kael grumbled.

"BECAUSE!" Nakkie called back. "I want them all to be impressed by my incredible housekeeping skills." Her voice was gleeful.

Alana rolled her eyes.

Raven thought she had every right to be worried as she carried Renjyo to the door of Infi's home, the other children following behind. No one except Renjyo (and Nasir) had been particularly in a good mood since Arch had brought Nasir to stay at the Nest.

And yet, Mekt had convinced her that they should go over to Infi's, simply due to the fact that the 'interesting girl' had asked.

There hadn't been many objections. Hera had rolled her eyes, muttering something under her breath; Kiku had simply smiled and agreed. Nasir didn't much care either way, and Renjyo was game for just about anything-- and it had been Mekt's idea.

Thus, the six of them had made the trek towards Infi's place, first by Raven's van (she'd exchanged the car for a van after realizing that the family was becoming larger and larger) then by foot up to the door.

Knocking on the thing, Raven took a deep breath. She hoped this would go well.

Raven knocked, and then there was a roar from the back of the house. At the roar, Nakshidil wondered if she'd remembered to warn Mekt about their larger home inhabitants. Well, she'd trust they would stay in the back yard.

Alana hurried for the door. "Get down here everybody!" She called. The first one down the stairs was Nakkie, who jumped down and landed in Crout's arms.

"Thanks Croooout!" she called as she jetted for the front door. Alana leaned over and brushed her lips over his cheek. "Yeah, thanks Crout."

"Whatever." he muttered.

The others came downstairs too, including Kamil, who had just arrived the day previously. "Is it okay if I am here?" the adult asked curiously. Alana nodded.

"Of course, hon. You're a part of the family." she said with a smile.

Nakkie glared at them. "I'm opening the door." she informed them icily. "Now, look like a good Stepford Family." opening the door, she bowed politely. "Hello!"

The roar had been mildly startling, but nothing particularly out of the ordinary for Raven's brood, given some of the other members of the other Nests. Raven found herself blinking at the little girl who'd opened the door as she put Renjyo on the ground.

Mekt smiled at Nakkie, bowing ever so slightly, as was his habit when he bothered to get outdoors and around others. "Sorry we're a bit late-- we had some trouble with travel arrangements." Which really meant, of course, that there had been a fight as to who sat where when. Which really meant, of course, that Nasir had tried to steal shotgun which had ALWAYS been Mekt's seat.

Somehow the preteen had won the battle.

Kiku curtsied as the door opened, her silver eyes taking in the group. Interesting. Further knowledge for her to keep locked away until the time was right. So many characters who created such possibilities which could lead down a multitude of paths...

Renjyo blinked-- pretties! Pretty, pretty people! Renjyo liked pretty people~! She wanted to play with pretty people! Renjyo liked being here 'cause pretty people were fun and fun was good! Good was good...

Hera tagged along in back, glancing at each of the people inside carefully before stepping in. Distracting individuals who possibly could lead to useful endeavors. Possibly.

He smirked. Nasir glanced at the strangers within the house, his mind already--

...what a lovely creature. Dark locks framing a smooth face, glistening blue eyes... ah, such beauty should be kept to be admired and tamed. Nasir had a feeling he was going to like this. Very, very much.

Nakkie smiled. "Come on in." Her eyes were bright and smiled, glancing over the family. "This is Crout, Naira, Laertes, Laramie, Kael, Micah, and our newest sibling Kamil." she pointed to each one as she spoke, and they all smiled. "And Alana. Our mom."

Kael looked them over. Bah, none of them looked interesting. All giiirls. Maybe the white boy would be okay, but everyone else? Pff. Raising a hand, he asked "Do any of you want anything to drink?"

Laramie yawned. Turning around, he moved into the living room and flopped onto the white leather couch. Laertes bowed politely. "And I have a job interview." he said with a smile. "So I'll have to be going soon. Crout, don't you have work?"

"Nope." the black haired teen smiled.

But Micah had to go to Dian's. Kael latched onto the teen, and Lae, Micah, and Kael waved as they left on their separate ways.

Kamil smiled at them all hesitantly. "So many new people." he said with a soft laugh. "I hope I can remember you all." he bowed to the newcomers politely, graceful hands pushing back the lock of black hair that fell over one shoulder.

Being the most senior member of Raven's brood, since he wasn't the oldest, Mekt took introductions as his job. "A pleasure to meet your family. I think I'll pass on the drinks. And this is my family-- my sisters, Renjyo, the little one, Kiku, the one who's most dressed up, and Hera, my mother, Raven," Mekt paused for a moment before grudgingly adding, "and the newest member of our family, Nasir."

Renjyo rolled her eyes at Mekt's introductions, considering Infi's group. Hm... pretty angel! Taking a glance at her Niichan, she grinned and bounced up to Naira, blinking her wide eyes at the angel. "Hihi~~~"

So many people coming and going. Kiku smiled slightly and whispered a 'hello' before slipping off to follow Laramie-- interesting character, that one. An intriguing person. Physically he seemed to be so young, and yet at the same time, he carried the weight of age on his diminuative frame.

Considering those who left and those remaining, Hera sized up Crout. The dark teenager seemed to carry that darkness about him, the light shimmering through his aura caught up in... everything else. Focusing on too much and only one thing.

Damn supernatural tendencies. Focus on the person. Golden eyes, sharp-- too sharp, too knowledgable. Much like the girl Mekt seemed to enjoy addressing, only less. A singular obsession ran in this boy's veins...

He'd be an interesting mark.

Nasir inclined his head to Kamil slightly, boldly moving to take the others' hand and press a kiss to the back. "A pleasure to meet you."

Raven rolled her eyes at Nasir's behavior but didn't comment beyond that.

Nakkie smiled at them all politely. "Hello!" She reached out and grabbed Mekt's hand, tugging lightly. "Whaddaya wanna do?" she asked, bouncing back onto the balls of her feet. "Doyouwannamakesomethingexplode?"

Naira smiled down at Renjyo. "Hi!" the angel said brightly. "Do you like to play? What kind of stuff?" her eyes were bright, and she smiled at the other female happily.

Laramie raised an eyebrow as he felt the shift in air as someone else entered the room. Very quiet, but he'd gotten used to being in this room, and he could tell stuff like that. "hey." he murmured, and turned on the couch to look at the female in the door.

Kamil blushed a faint pink, lashes dark against his cheeks as he lowered his eyes. "The pleasure is mine." he said, and smiled at Nasir, tugging his hand away gently.

Infi could almost sense a headache coming on. All the kids, all the possible areas of the house... and if Nakshidil blew up one more of Kael's electronics trying to make a "loud boom to show Mekt" she'd scream.

(( xd Kiku went after Laramie, not Hera, and Hera went after Crout. xd ))

Mekt blinked as Nakkie grabbed his hand, but just smiled slightly behind his mask at her questions. "Explode? As in an experiment? That has potential."

"Renjyo loves playing~! Renjyo loves playing lots of things if people are nice-- but pretty angel will be nice, ne~?" the little girl grinned, giving Naira a big hug.

Kiku smiled ever so slightly at the boy-man. "...hello there. Do you mind if I sit here with you for a while?

Nasir smiled. Somehow he had to believe that the pleasure would be very much his. "As my little... 'brother'... mentioned, I am Nasir. And you would be Kamil, according to the child?"

((Fixed it, I think? xD ))

Nakshidil nodded firmly. "Yeah, but we have to go outside. Alana said she won't let me blow anything else up anymore since I broke the window in my bathroom." Her green eyes were bright, the smile impish. "But I have just about everything explosive I could find out in the shed."

Naira hugged Renjyo back happily. A playmate! "Do you like to fly?" she asked, tugging away and hurrying for the stairs. "Allie, allie, can I take her flying? We'll have one of the dragons come with us so please?"

A quick nod. "Ask raven if it's okay too." Alana managed to get out right before Naira started up the stairs again.

Laramie glanced over at the slight figure in the door. "Yeah, sure." he murmured. He patted the seat next to him lightly. "So, which one are you again?" he asked curiously.

Kamil smiled. "I am." he affirmed. He peeked up at Nasir through thick lashes. "So, what are your hobbies Nasir? Books, music?" He smiled up at the handsome man and glanced at Raven and Alana. "And does anyone left want anything to drink, or eat? I have managed to figure out my way around the kitchen..."

Mekt found himself wondering exactly what elemental components Nakkie possessed outside, his mind utterly disregarding the idea of Nakkie breaking her window and the dangers that could present, both to her and any future comrades in the task of experimentation. "Well, then shall we go outside, Nakkie?" he smiled behind his mask. "I brought a few things as well, if you're feeling particularly adventurous."

Renjyo grinned. "Flying~? Renjyo wants to fly~! Mommy, can Renjyo go flying~? Please?"

It was a particularly bad habit of Raven's that she didn't really want to deny her children anything that wouldn't harm them or others. "As long as you're careful, sweetheart...." --and the other boy was asking a question... "And I'm fine, thank you, Kamil."

Renjyo giggled and followed Naira up and away. Flying! Flying was fun! At least, Renjyo thought it would be fun, she'd never tried before...

"Kiku," the girl smiled. "There are an awful lot of us, aren't there?" she laughed delicately as she took the proffered seat. "And you would be Laramie, if I'm not mistaken?"

Nasir smirked. Hobbies? Oh, he had hobbies. However, most of them weren't discussed in polite company-- at least, not in polite public company. "Oh, this and that," he shrugged.

Mekt might be surprised at what chemicals the main housekeeper could find when she wanted to make cool explosions to impress her new friend. The preteen grinned largely, and nodded. "Let's." she rubbed her hands together with a giggle. "And let's try them. What did you bring?" she pursed her red mouth, trying not to be obvious as she peeked around for the potential boomies.

Naira extended her hand to Renjyo as she flew up the stairs, giggling. The other girl was smaller, so Naira should be able to hold her with no problem. Her wings were getting a lot stronger since she'd been working on flying. She wasn't any good for carrying distances, but she was fairly certain she could take the little girl for a ride to the lake! ninja "Do you like to swim too?" she asked brightly as she led the other girl out onto the porch on the third floor.

Laramie nodded. "I'm Laramie. You know, between Infi and your mom, it's a carnival." he muttered. "Anything you want, they got it. All they are missing is the clown." which, considering it seemed his new "mother" was afraid of clowns and spiders (in no particular order... okay, so spiders first) it would be a bad idea for Alana to be mother to a clown.

Kamil felt a momentary sense of panic. He wasn't sure he trusted that smile. Glancing around to see that everyone seemed to have paired off, he glanced up at Nasir. "This and that isn't much of a description." he gestured towards the library. "Would you like to join me?" Somehow, he figured his 'mother' wouldn't exactly be in the mood for conversing in the library. Besides, he was rather intrigued by this guy. His lips quirked into a smile.

Which he was right. Alana had already pulled out a bottle of scotch, and was pouring herself a nice, stiff drink. She waved the bottle in the air. "Sure you aren't thirsty, Raven?"

Crout plucked the bottle from her hand, pushing her down onto a setee. "You be good." he murmured. "There's still a kid here." he nodded at Hera and then smiled, extending his hand to the blue-skinned female. "So, miss, what do you like to do in your spare time?" he asked, tugging her towards the kitchen lightly. He was hungry, darnit, and this kid didn't need to be seeing Infi melt into a puddle of 'ohgodyaynokids' goo.

Mekt smiled. The items had been well hidden within his coat-- kept there in case of emergency or need to shatter the awkward silences which grew out of nothing and into everything. Chemicals-- chemicals that, naturally, were harmless by themselves, but when combined in the right proportions, could create an explosion rivalling the glorious display he remembered from the Fourth. "Just this and that," Mekt promised, waiting for Nakkie to lead the way.

Giggling, Renjyo followed Naira about. "Renjyo likes swimming-- but only if friends come swimming too~" the little girl grinned, resisting the urge to play with Naira's feathers. The angel was pretty-- Renjyo liked pretties, and fun pretties made Renjyo very very happy because fun pretties meant lots of times when there wasn't any boring things and boring things were bad!

"That seems to be true," Kiku smiled. "Then again, it seems strange that there would be so many of us-- Mother doesn't really like people most of the time. Or at least, she says she doesn't." It was a lie-- Kiku knew her mother needed people, needed voices around her so she wouldn't get lost in her own mind, but that wasn't the sort of thing you mentioned to your new acquaintance, was it? Of course not. "I'm just waiting for her to come home with a gnome or some such."

Biting back a dark chuckle, Nasir nodded. "Of course-- and perhaps it isn't much of a description, but it serves as a perfectly true answer to the question," he murmured. Library-- a secluded environment. How... perfect. That would create a wonderful start to this little game.

Raven shook her head slightly at Alana. "No thanks-- I don't drink alcohol, dearie. But feel free yourself-- there are a lot of them, aren't there?"

Following without protest, Hera smiled slightly. "I like to meet people. Find out things, not necessarily about people, but things themselves. Keep busy. And you?" It wasn't like Hera hadn't seen people get drunk before, and it wasn't surprising Alana would want to drink with the amount of children running about her house. But if this guy wanted to shield her from the world, so be it. Hera wouldn't complain, provided she was being 'shielded' from something she already knew about.

Nakshidil grinned. "Alright." she said with a nod. She'd see them soon enough, after all. "I have stuff set up near the lake. That way I won't set the house on fire." she rolled her emerald green eyes.

If Naira could read minds, she'd have swirly eyes from Renjyo's logic. "Naira likes swimming too." the angel confided, and held out her hands to the little girl. "Now, you'll have to promise to hold on really tight to me, okay? If you fall, you'll oww bunches, and owwies are bad."

Laramie grinned at Kiku. "A gnome?" his eyes laughed. "Mom's latest obsession is ponies- we already had a huge herd, and she wants more. I honestly don't know if we can handle any more dragons OR ponies." he rolled his eyes. "But at least she gets pretty ponies." he admitted, and looked at the little girl-child in front of him. Adorable, innocent. He almost wanted to hate her for being so.... cute. Wanted to hate her for being able to grow up.

Kamil's lips twitched. "Very good then." he said, accepting the answer. It was refreshing to be around someone close to his age who wasn't a drunkard female. But yet, there was something about this Nasir that made him feel like prey.

How thrilling.

Alana nodded. "Suit yourself. I don't get to do this often enough, what with trying to repair the perversions Crout instills in those kids." Not that some of it wasn't her own fault, but she'd never admit that.

Crout grinned. "I like to build stuff." he admitted, remembering the thrill of when he'd first learned about architecture, first started putting puzzles together and building models. The thrill of creating things, of being able to mold them into the image you desired... "I love puzzles, seeing how things connect, and turning them into something beautiful."

Mekt nodded-- a wise choice, that. Fire tended to be destructive and explosions tended to carry the stigma of being somewhat... dangerous. Thus, the farther from the mainly populated areas, the better.

Renjyo nodded. "Renjyo doesn't like owwies-- owwies are bad!" she confirmed, clinging to Naira. "Renjyo promises to hold on tight!~" Owwies were bad because they hurt and pain was bad until it was good and it didn't get good until you could make nice things out of the pain and you couldn't make nice things out of the pain without making other people worried 'cause then they fussed and whined about how you shouldn't have gotten in pain! So Renjyo would be good and not make owwies happen because Renjyo couldn't get owwies better without lots and lots of boring trouble.

"Mother keeps bringing home strange objects-- a stone and a wand are her two current obsessions. I honestly wonder what she'll do next." He cared about the asthetics? Or was it simply that he remembered something. A boy man-- that slight shift in posture, the subtle hints. Jealousy? Mild. Not acute yet. Perhaps becoming such, but only mild for the moment.

Nasir followed Kamil to the library, out from under the watchful eye of the 'Mothers', one of whom seemed to want nothing more than to drink this all away, the other-- his 'Mother'-- seeming to want nothing more than a few painkillers. She'd want more than that before they left this house, Nasir was certain, but for now that'd be enough for her. That and her toys inside her purse-bag.

Raven nodded. "Well, you have more kids than I do, so I suppose it would be more stressful," she laughed, relaxing a touch. This was familiarity-- familiarity was good to hold onto, to relate to. Enough.

"Build stuff? I haven't gotten the chance to do that in a long time," Hera laughed slightly. "I'm always pulling my brother out of trouble lately, it seems. He has a bad habit of wandering into situations he doesn't know how to deal with."
