Thorn looked at the figures he held in his hand, knowing that Marc would be pleased. The man had thrown himself into work with a ruthless dedication that pleased him. Perhaps he needed to screw him up a bit more often. It provided one of the most perfect employees, and a profit that was steadily rising. Marc was developing a reputation too- if over a couple of days, you could develope one.

All in all, he was pleased.

And like the perverse man he was, he wanted to thank the one man who had made it all possible.

Hadrian.

So he stopped by the office, knowing the general direction without getting too lost.

Hadrian was still absorbed in his work, even though Natalie had done some good. After his talk his her, he'd gone home - showered, rested, even ate something. Not much, but at least it was something more then junk food.

And now, he still didn't look like he was feeling all that fantastic - but he didn't look as wretched as he had when the girl had stopped by.

And despite Natalie's visit, he still had one way of dealing with this: working. The door to his office was open, and Hadrian was too focused on his work to notice if someone was there. He'd been a bit - distracted - since the break up.

Thorn saw the open door and stepped it, pushing it opened with one hand as quietly as he could. He wondered what the mage would be doing. Would he be working, as per norm? Crying himself to sleep on the floor? Whatever it was, seeing him like that satisfied some morbid curiosity.

It was still the same, then.

Stepping in, the man closed the door firmly with a resounding click behind him. With that, he stood against the door, partially to stand at attention if Hadrian noticed, and also to block the door incase the mage tried to push him out.

Lifting his head from his work, Hadrian saw somethat he hadn't expected to see. But should have really, knowing how the man was.

Thorn. And the door was shut.

While normally that would have caused him to simply become nervous, Hadrian had been on an emotional rollar coaster lately. Angry at himself, frustrated, depressed...and here was the cause of it all.

Needless to say, the anger that bloomed now wasn't directed at himself.

"Get out."

No greeting, no question, just two words - flat and hard. The anger that seethed in his eyes was kept from his voice, making it seem all the more chilly.

Thorn arched a brow. Was this man angry? Well, all the better. He didn't smile. Not really. He wore the same slight smirk that he always wore, but it didn't deepen, it didn't grow and it certainly didn't remain.

Because an answering light entered his eyes.

"No."

Childish, maybe a little bit. But this was the first time he had heard such a note in Hadrian's voice. And (needless to say) it excited him. Everything pretty much excited him.

For Hadrian, being this angry didn't happen often. And as he rose to his feet, he contemplated that Thorn was one of the few who had managed to make him this angry. Only one other person that he could think of, and that person, well...he had died a long time ago.

"You will leave."

The mage stepped around his desk, glaring with vehemence at Thorn. It looked like he was prepared to try and drag the man out of the laboratory if neccessary.

Though really, if it called for that, he'd just use magic. Once his blood stopped boiling long enough for him to think of it, anyway.

Thorn loved fights. He loved the sheer brutality of it as people went for each other's throats. Fights of desperation were his favorite, one where lives hung in the balance.

This wasn't one of the fights, but it was good enough. And his blood burned. The same way it might have if Hadrian had consented to do something else.

"Will I?" he mocked the man, throwing his words back at him with a smirk. As the mage stepped around his desk, Thorn took a step closer. Taunting, getting in his space with a look that dared him to do just that.

"And how will you do that?"

The man was a mage. Thorn knew enough of this word. But he knew this too. If he hurt him, Hadrian would pay eventually.

If he didn't... well.

Thorn would make Hadrian pay for that too.

With his bood boiling, Hadrian didn't consider magic yet. He would, of course - but at the moment, that wouldn't satisfy his anger. What would satisfy it...

Well, as Thorn stepped closer, his body decided what would make him feel better. And in one instant, he had swung his fist at Thorn. Whether or not he succeeded in hitting the other would depend on the other man - and of course, if he had expected it.

With Hadrian, hitting someone was probably the last thing they would expect. The last thing he'd expect himself to do as well, truthfully. Though it wasn't like he could do much damage, even with all of his anger behind the punch - he was a slender man, without much in the way of muscle.

Thorn was hit!

For a moment, he stiffened. It hurt, damnit. The man was small, but he could pack enough of a punch that it took some gripping of the floor and a slight step back for him to standing properly. But it was a sting, really. Perhaps it was the anger, or the surprise of it.

"I didn't think you could fight back."

And then, whatever challenge Thorn had met the anger with doubled. Tripled. Immediatly, his hand came up and tightened around the fist on his cheek (hopefully the bruise wouldn't be too bad) and the other started to go around to push the mage onto the desk.

Hard.

Fierce.

"If I'd known." he purred the words.

His anger rared it ugly head again as Thorn made that comment. But it also had the effect of bringing up something else, as well; his anger at himself. His shame. But what was brought up even more by being pushed back was fear.

Because this was...well, much more then he had faced before. Thorn had never been this strong, this forceful - he'd alway had the feeling that if he fighted back, he could stop it. This time...well, there was a feeling that if he wanted out of this, he'd have to fight back with every bit of himself.

And that if he didn't fight back as violently as Thorn was pushing him around, then this was going to go badly fast.

Straining, Hadrian attempted to pull his fist back - he needed both hands for his magic. And magic was what he thought of now, now that there was such a strong danger.

But he had a feeling that Thorn wasn't going to let him do that. And this time, he wasn't going to make it easy on the man.

He wasn't just willingly going to lay there. This time, he was struggling and throwing his weight against Thorn's - which admittedly wouldn't do very well, considering the differences of size.

"Let go," whatever he had done to keep his anger from his voice was gone - and all that anger, and a hint of fear had re entered it.

Thorn laughed. It was loud, and long and when he struggled, Thorn pushed him right back. It was easier on his position, because he could lean his weight into the mage. But it wasn't easy.

Still. It excited the man. Because Hadrian was a fighter, and Thorn had never known that before. Not to this degree. He laughed, and leaning into him, keeping him from freeing himself as long as he could, Thorn whispered.

"Make me."

The man was enjoying himself too much. Because this was new territory he hadn't thought he would cross with this one. Not with someone who acted so malleable at times. Angry yes, but never this... forceful.

How far could he break the mage?

Thorn wanted to know. He wanted to try.

Hadrian was a strange sort of person, with many facets and sides of his personality - how he would act in one situation would be different from another, circumstances changed everything with him. He may be docile for the most part, but then violently angry in the right circumstance.

Like this.

Though quickly, that anger that was fueling his struggle was turning to a panicked fear. It still fuled his struggles, but it changed things.

Now his thought wasn't to get Thorn out of there - but to get out of there himself.

He was lashing out with any part of himself that he could...and while one hand was trapped, he attempted to hit Thorn with the other. It wouldn't be as strong as that first hit if it managed to connect, and it would be far more obvious since he was struggling so much.

But maybe it would startle the man enough into letting his other hand go. Then he'd be in for a surprise...

Thorn moved, but not quickly enough. It hurt the other side of his face, and Thorn had a vague feeling he would have a lot of explaining to do tomorrow. So using his legs, he roughly pushed the mage halfway over the table, using his hands to keep Hadrian's hands down, and his bodyweight half collapsed on his chest to keep his own dominance.

It would be something, if it worked.

"Stay still, Hadrian." he commanded, as if this was something he was used to. Actually, through his movements he was kind of obvious he was.

He was used to having someone lash back, and using his weight to control them. Thorn wasn't stronger, or heavier than many other men, but he was enough of both to lend him support.

PostPosted: Sun Jul 23, 2006 12:07 pm

The disturbing implications of Thorn's familiarity with subduing a struggling opponent went unnoticed as Hadrian had more important things to worry about. Such as the fact that now both of his hands were trapped, and his body itself was trapped.

He kept losing 'weapons' as he went along. But he still had a few, and he wasn't going to just lay there, do what Thorn asked.

His frustration became evident as he spoke however, as well as his fear, in consideration of what he said.

"Why can't you just leave? You've already gotten what you wanted!"

Twice, in fact.

((I originally wrote something a little different, but it seemed OOC for Hadrian, when thinking back on it. So I changed it ^_^))

Thorn snickered. "It doesn't end there, Hadrian." he said, his words purring out as he watched the man struggle. The frustration was enticing- what could he do to increase it? Did he want to, or was it better to leave the mage on the plateau of emotions he seemed to be feeling now.

"You don't think you'll get rid of me because of what happened in the maze?" Showing more tact by not saying screwed, ********, did the nasty, he tried to keep it at a sensible level.

Because holding someone hostage on their own desk was very, very sensible.

"You enjoyed yourself." he stated. "Both times."
